This is the best of two generation cars. It has the stronger Gen I engine, and the Gen II suspension. They call it the Gen 1.5. All recalls have been done, and the paper head gasket has been replaced. This car has been well maintained, and properly upgraded. The car is in great condition and is ready to drive across country. 1 of 324 made in this popular color in 1996.

The original exhaust system with a 3-inch Corsa catback high-flow exhaust system, along with Borla headers and Random Tech Hi-Flo catalytic converters.  Due to decreased back pressure, this brought the  let off the gas  burble up quite a bit in volume, and it sounds way better than the stock system. I have owned this car since 2004. See the list below for more improvements.

Carbon fiber dash laminate   one piece is lifting. If I have time I will fix this.
Detert shift rod to shorten the shifter throw.
Clarion CDC655z 5 CD changer.  The control unit in the car is a Clarion ProAudio DRX8575z CD/MD Changer w/AM & FM with its own remote control.
Mopar  rear spoiler painted to match the car. Supposedly creates an additional 300 pounds of down force at 100MPH
T&D 1.7 ratio roller rockers and Trick Flow chromoly pushrods.  Roe valve springs with titanium retainer caps.
Roe Racing set of 5 blue silicone radiator hoses with a pressure release.
Custom fit 10mm Taylor Race wires, in blue of course, and with very high temperature spark plug boots.
Roe Racing fan control system to allow the fan to keep running once the car had been shut down.
Unitrax half shaft loops (protection), with 1000 hp heavy-duty half shafts.
BTR rollbar (in blue of course) and a SnakeOyl 5-point driver s safety harness w/Viper pads.
TDC roll lock unit
New O2 sensors (front)
K&N air filters
MGW Viper dipstick and oil fill cap
Shift light

Other than the radio I have all the original components including the exhaust so if you want you can put this back to stock. Car is clean with some wear as expected on a car with 45,000ish miles.

Chrysler extends fuel tank warranties on LX cars, NHTSA ends probe

Tue, 18 Feb 2014

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has ended its investigation of 153,817, 5.7-liter and 6.1-liter Hemi V8-powered 2006 Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger and Dodge Magnum models after reports of stalling. Chrysler has responded by granting a lifetime warranty on the fuel tanks for these vehicles.
NHTSA received 299 reports of engines stalling while the models were stopped or driving at low speeds, and began an investigation. The government agency found that the control valve shutoff float in the V8s' 19-gallon fuel tank could malfunction if the fuel had too high of an ethanol content. In many cases, the valve would break in the open position, allowing the tank to be overfilled, which would then cause the cars to stall. However, there were no accidents reported, and the vehicles could be restarted immediately.
There will not be a recall on these vehicles because, "the condition represents a low risk to motor vehicle safety and is adequately addressed by Chrysler's extended warranty," NHTSA said to The Detroit News.

Dodge lets us drive 100-years' worth of history [w/videos]

Thu, 03 Jul 2014

A raft of important production models from the last hundred years were available for me to either drive or ride in.
Dodge is 100 years old this year. So, as happened on Ford's recent centennial, the 50-year birthday of the Porsche 911, and others, the company has an excuse to trot out the highlights of its history next to its upcoming model lineup, and declare that "these are the fruits of the Dodge Boys' tree whose roots have grown strong." Or something like that. Never so hampered by marketing skepticism that I'll pass up the opportunity to burn someone else's rubber, I was happy to drive out to Meadow Brook Hall in Rochester Hills, MI - former grand estate of the Dodge family - to hear the spiel.

QB says University of Alabama offered him a Corvette to play football

Fri, 16 May 2014

The University of Alabama Crimson Tide football team could be in some hot water, following a pair of posts on social media.
The first post was sure to raise a few eyebrows on its own. It's an Instagram of sophomore running back Derrick Henry standing in front of his new Dodge Challenger (we're guessing it's an R/T based on the fender stripes). Complete with a custom set of wheels, the image was enough to trigger more than a few questions about where an unemployed student-athlete came up with the money for such a purchase. Now, this could be harmless. Henry, flush with a full-ride to Bama could have convinced his parents to get him something nice with his college fund.
The second post, though, is a straight-up accusation. It comes from former West Virginia Mountaineer and current CFL quarterback Pat White, who posted the following on his Facebook page.
