This 308 GTSi Quattrovalvo has been in my family for almost 30 years. My grandfather was the second owner. He
bought this car the same day that Enzo Ferrari died in 1988. This 308 QV is the real deal. Last of the great 308's.
Looks great, sounds great, runs great. It turns heads and gets compliments for being a rare original "triple black"
car. Black exterior, interior, and targa. Factory Ferrari black never been repainted, not even the vents which look
flawless. Engine has never been pulled. And the car has never sat too long. It's always been on the road. Any
Ferrari mechanic will tell you, while a 400 mile a year garage queen 308 might seem desirable to some, it is bad
for these cars. They need to be regularly driven, maintained, cared for, and respected. Our family has done just
that since 1988. Our mechanic in the 80's and 90's was Monaco Motors in Beverly Hills. This 308 is now maintained
by renowned R2 Racing in the Santa Clarita Valley. They did a 30k service in 2012. And regular maintenance since
then, always passing smog. This car has perfect hoses and belts. New plugs and wires. New fuel pump. Starts up
beautifully and runs so nice and strong. Clutch is nice and responsive. This 308 has show car looks and race car
performance. Classic 308. New rubber on original 3 piece 16" Gotti wheels. This car also comes with the original
silver 16" QV wheels with matching spare. You get it all!
Even though it looks so good with an aesthetic mod here and there, NO permanent modification has been done to this
car. It can be brought to original in under an hour. I have the original factory side markers, turn signal lenses,
front bumper shocks, and square mirrors. The bumper and turn signal mod is from T. Rutlands. It brings the rubber
bumper inward an inch like the more aesthetically pleasing euro 308 and adds smoked clear lenses. The mirrors are
GTB sport mirrors with custom carbon fiber baseplate mounting adapters that utilize the factory mirror mount
location. No new holes!
Car comes with both sets of wheels, as I stated. Original leather bag for targa top, leather strapped pouch for
jack, and original leather tool pack with all the tools including that handy window crank emergency tool!
I have a clear title in my name along with a recent Carfax vehicle history report showing how clean this car's life
has been. Never in any accident. Always registered in California, always passed smog. I have well documented
receipts for maintenance since I took ownership after my grandfather passed away in 2011.
So here is your chance to own a real deal 308 GTSi QV. One that you won't have to put thousands into to get it
running right. We've already done that for you. This car begs to be driven and has appreciated nicely in the last
few years with no end in sight. We've loved and enjoyed this car for 3 decades. Now it's time for my family to
pass it on to you.

Race Recap: 2014 24 Hours of Le Mans defines 'endurance'

Mon, 16 Jun 2014

Commenting on the rush of events that rocked beginning and end of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Paul Truswell of Radio Le Mans said "the race is about the ability to endure, not just the ability of drivers to do what they do for a long time." The entire race machine, all the way down to the pit boards and radios, has to survive the stress and abuse of the entire day. This was the race to prove those words.
There were two Toyotas, two Porsches and three Audis, five of the seven led the race at some point, six of the seven ran in the top three. Toyota will be hugely disappointed that it didn't win when its car and drivers were so, so strong, but they gave Audi the kind of scare we haven't seen since the best of Peugeot's days, and Toyota did a better job of it even in the loss. Porsche blew away everyone's expectations, falling 3.5 hours short of a fairy tale ending that would have made Disney cry.
But Le Mans doesn't really do fairy tales. Well, not that fairy tale. Audi's Twitter handle during the event was #welcomechallenges. As usual, Le Mans answered for the entire field.

Ferrari patents new electronic steering assist

Wed, 16 Jul 2014

Automobiles keep getting more and more advanced, with computers playing an ever-increasingly vital role in their operation. But some things remain the same. Despite more advanced (if not necessarily better) technologies available, we still burn fossils to fuel our engines, we still check what's behind us in actual mirrors and (with few exceptions) we still turn a steering wheel mechanically connected to the front wheels to change directions. But that doesn't mean automakers aren't working at new solutions.
We've sampled electric steering systems developed by Japanese automakers like Honda and Infiniti that disconnect the front wheels from the steering column, but while those systems may be the way of the future, they leave the driver feeling physically disconnected from the road. Ferrari, however, has a different idea.
Instead of either relying completely on a traditional system or replacing it with an entirely digital one, Ferrari appears to have found a sweet spot in the middle. According to a patent filing obtained by Evo, Ferrari is developing a system that still uses a direct mechanical steering linkage, but enhances it through the use of software that corrects for certain inconsistencies.

LaFerrari, meet YouTube. YouTube, LaFerrari

Tue, 05 Mar 2013

If, for some reason, you feel like we've left anything out of our coverage of the exciting new LaFerrari unveiled today in Geneva, don't fret - Ferrari has us covered. The automaker has graced us with a total of seven videos of its new hybrid supercar today including the original launch video we already showed you this morning.
The six new videos discuss a broad spectrum of topics, such as LaFerrari's overall architecture, carbon fiber chassis and body, driving dynamics and the 160-horsepower HY-KERS (HYbrid Kinetic Energy Recovery System) part of the powertrain. There is also coverage of today's auto show unveiling and, our favorite, a short video showing the car being tested around the Fiorano Circuit plus some bonus footage of past Ferrari supercars like the GTO, F40, F50 and Enzo.
In total, there is almost 30 minutes of video goodness to bring you just about all the information there is to know about LaFerrari, and all seven videos are posted below.
