I spotted this car in San Jose at Roselli's Foreign cars (a Repair Shop I have used over the years with a Dino 246 and Mondial)  about 2 years ago and bought it. The car was It was originally from Texas, then it lived in Santa Monica. The car had 18,000 miles when I purchased it has 22,500 on the odometer. The car comes with a web site. E bay will not allow a hyper link, but if you search for "Ferrarri 348 GTS" it should come up. I have used it to store pics and videos that are not on this auction.

I have done a bit of work on the car, Roselli's put in a new clutch, etc. new starter, battery, we did a big fuel injector clean out. It is going in Monday for a new timing belt. That seems to be the main worry on these cars. The control panel for the heater is now working.
The car was super quick after the fuel injectors were clean. The car is great, runs very well, looks fantastic. I have the original window sticker for $121,000 and all documents and records. The car is missing the tool kit, I do have the manuals. There are a few very small chips in the paint, no dings or dents. There are a few chips in the front spoiler, I will add detailed photos soon.

I have the car priced at $48,500 I would consider trades up to $15k plus cash. Frank Balistreri, 405.375.0442

The spiders built by Ferrari have always been a perfect expression of their sporting heritage. It was this very heritage that inspired Pininfarina stylists as they set about designing the spider to clothe the refined 348 series chassis. The result was a car that offered the same impressive performance as the berlinetta, with a remarkably flex free chassis, as well as the possibility of true top down motoring. Ferrari spiders have always epitomised the marque sporting heritage. It was that heritage that inspired the designers when they set about clothing this superb chassis and running gear. The Pininfarina designed 348 Spider was the latest in this long and glorious line when it debuted in 1993. The two seater 348 Spider had a steel and aluminium body. The soft top was canvas and beautifully integrated into the car s line, thanks to in depth wind tunnel testing. It folded, in fact, into a compartment behind the seats using a system that didn t impinge on either on longitudinal occupant comfort or fuel tank capacity. Its interior volumes and driver position were designed for maximum comfort given its sporty set up. The seats and trim were a plush Connolly leather. The 348 Spider had a steel monocoque with differentiated tubular elements and a tubular rear sub frame for the engine suspension assembly. The suspension was independent unequal length wishbones front and rear. It had coil springs over gas filled telescopic dampers, and stabiliser bars. The steering was rack and pinion. The car also had self venting disc brakes with ATE antiskid. The mid rear 3405 cc 90 V8 engine was mounted longitudinally and punched out 320 hp. It had twin overhead cams with four valves per cylinder and a Bosch M 2.7 control unit. The 348 GTB also had dry sump lubrication, a five speed plus reverse transverse gearbox in unit with the self locking differential, and a single plate dry clutch.

Ferrari looks to cut 20% total C02 emissions over 7 years

Tue, 24 Jun 2014

In the late 1970s, performance cars suffered a huge blow when the necessity for better economy and lower emissions crippled their power. It took nearly a decade for the horsepower to return. Today, we're in the middle of another push for greater vehicle efficiency, but don't expect another era of malaise this time. Instead, lightweight materials, turbos and hybrids mean that everyone can be happy. However, the pressure to clean up isn't just for the mass market, supercars must improve too, but Ferrari at least seems to be taking on the challenge in stride.
Ferrari Powertrain Director Vittorio Dini recently told Automotive News Europe that the Prancing Horse will improve its current average C02 emissions of 270 grams per kilometer by 20 percent by 2021, to reach about 216 grams of C02 per kilometer. To achieve these lofty ambitions, the company will exploit a relatively simple path. "In the future, all of our V8s will use turbos," said Dini said to ANE. Also, its V12s will use hybridization because it'll be a better choice for them compared to the heat of multiple turbos, he claimed.
The first steps of this strategy are already in front of us. The new California T ditches its naturally aspirated V8 in favor of a smaller displacement, more powerful turbocharged unit, and the LaFerrari is already using the hybrid V12. Dini's quote certainly lends some credence to the rumor that the 2015 refresh for the 458 Italia may use an even more powerful version of the California's turbo V8. With a new Ferrari model planned for each year between now and 2018, the Prancing Horse seems unperturbed by any threats posed by emissions.

Possible Ferrari F70/F150 specs emerge from private showings

Fri, 01 Feb 2013

At a private showing in Maranello, a group of lucky souls got to sneak a peek at the upcoming successor to the Ferrari Enzo, which has been referred to as both the F70 and F150 (not that F-150). While we still don't get any name confirmation or a definitive idea (aside from spy shots) as to what the newest Ferrari supercar will look like, one of the attendees did manage to pass along some vital performance information about the car as well as production numbers that are said to be limited to just 499 units.
The report on Auto-Blog.com.mx confirms that the Enzo successor will utilize an 800-horsepower V12 paired with a hybrid KERS good for another 150 hp. The engine's peak power kicks in at a screaming 9,200 rpm, while peak torque (not divulged) will be available at just 1,000 rpm. That kind of power could be great in just about anything, but the report also says that this new Ferrari model will have a dry weight of just 2,799 pounds (about the same as the Subaru BRZ and Scion FR-S twins and just slightly more than a Mazda MX-5 Miata). Rumored speed times include a top speed of 229 miles per hour, and the ability to run from 0-60 mph in less than three seconds; doubling that speed takes an extra second.
We've already seen the car's carbon fiber chassis and now we're just waiting to see the production car in real life, but Ferrari has not announced when the car will be introduced.

Le Mans-raced 1953 Ferrari 340/375 MM headed to auction

Sat, 09 Feb 2013

Vintage Ferrari models show up on the auction circuit all the time, but few can match this particular '53 340/375 MM Berlinetta Competizione in terms of historical significance. Not only did the machine compete in the 1953 24 Hours of Le Mans, but this particular model managed to finish in second place before being disqualified for taking on extra brake fluid during a stop. More importantly, a total of three Formula One world champions have driven this car in competition at events like the Spa 24 Hours, Pescara 12 Hours and the Circuit of Guadeloupe.
The coolest part for us? Umberto Maglioli managed to set a public road stage record with this machine during the Carrera Panamericana by averaging 138 miles per hour over 223 miles. The effort was good enough to land the team a sixth place finish overall, and the record still stands to this day for any road stage anywhere. The 340/375 MM Berlinetta Competizione is up for auction in restored condition at the RM Auction event in Paris this week. Check out the full press release below for more information.
