Titanium Grey 2002 Ferrari 456M GTA, with 33938 miles (as of today). The car has no warning lights and just had its major service plus new brakes, battery and catalytic converter ecu's and thermocouples (this solved the slow down light issue). Recent service was over $10k. I bought the car in January with the expectation of keeping it, but I couldn't pass up a deal on a Bentley GT so the 456M has to find a new home as my garages are full. The interior has the Daytona seat option, the hood has the Scuderia shields. Very cool black powder-coated wheels and painted brake calipers. There are stone chips on the hood like most of these type of cars. I will include a paint repair kit with the car. After I purchased the car but before it was delivered, the dealer had the car detailed. The detailer left a swirl mark in the paint on the back passenger side, you can see it in the picture of the rear quarter panel. The interior is in very good shape, it does not have the common Ferrari sticky problem, the gas release and emergency flasher buttons work fine, but stick a bit. Ricambi has these buttons for around 100 bucks. The dash and back shelf are in good shape. The headliner on the passenger side hangs down a bit, I have included a picture. It doesn't interfere with the drivers view or passengers head. It is totally fine on the drivers side. The passenger visor needs the common repair on this model. If you have questions please ask, I will answer to the best of my ability. I would be happy to take any additional pictures you want and email them to you. The car is here in Myrtle Beach, SC in a heated and secure garage. I have the clear title with no liens. All funds will need to clear my bank before the title and car is released. You will be responsible for shipping costs but I will certainly help facilitate loading the vehicle. A non-refundable deposit of $2000 will be required within 24 hours. Ferrari 250 Testa Rossas assemble by the shore at Pebble Beach
Mon, 18 Aug 2014Seeing one Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa could be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for many people because so few exist, and those that do generally trade hands for tens of millions of dollars. At this year's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, there are 20 of these amazing rarities lined up next to each other.
Situated right on the shore of the Pacific Ocean, you can actually hear the waves lapping against the rocks during the quiet moments. Just a few feet away these thoroughbred Prancing Horses are on display and being polished to perfection. The Testa Rossas represent some of the most important historic racers in the world, and the mix here include a prototype, a Le Mans winner and models that counted drivers like Phil Hill and Dan Gurney behind the wheel.
Not all Testa Rossas were created equal, though. Ferrari built both factory racing and customer versions, and they came with curvaceous bodies from Scaglietti and a bit more angular look with dual snouts from Fantuzzi. LaFerrari XX prototype pushed so hard that its suspension fails
Sun, 13 Jul 2014Ferrari has a real challenge on its hands. It made the new LaFerrari hybrid hypercar so extreme already that it left little room to crank it up to 11 and turn it into an XX development prototype like it did with the Enzo and the 599 before it. So it's really going to have to push the envelop to take it that extra step.
That's what it has apparently set out to do with this LaFerrari prototype at Monza, where the Prancing Horse marque was spotted preparing the upcoming LaFerrari XX. In fact, testers ran the prototype so hard that they broke the car's right rear suspension. Which is bound to happen, we guess, when you try to find that extra bit of performance in a vehicle that's already one of the most capable ever devised, but only goes to show how much deeper Ferrari will have to dig to find that even sharper edge.
Either that or Ferrari's working on some sort of four-wheel steering system with automatic camber adjustment... See for yourself in the video below.
Winningest Ferrari ever feted by Petrolicious
Wed, 21 May 2014When Petrolicious showed its video starring the legendary Ferrari 250 GTO, we weren't sure it could be topped. Now, barely two weeks later, it has. Somehow, the video crew of one of our favorite YouTube series has gotten its mitts on one of the rarest, winningest, and most unique Ferraris to ever rove the planet.
This is a 1957 Ferrari 625/250 TRC, a customized stunner originally owned by Ferrari importer John Von Neumann that won a number of races across the country during its heyday. There's a lot more to this car than its wins at the Grand Prix of Mexico, Laguna Seca, Riverside and Pomona (and others), though.
See, this car was originally bought by Von Neumann alongside a second 625/250 TRC. Both cars were already rarities, sporting a 2.5-liter four-cylinder race engine sourced from Ferrari's Le Mans efforts. Von Neumann took things a step further, acquiring a 3.0-liter V12, which was then shoehorned into the sleek TRC's body. Yes, wee little Ferrari with a big ol' engine. It's a hot rod, and is one of the best looking, best sounding cars we've ever seen.
