1969 Fiat 500 Gamine on 2040-cars
Somis, California, United States
1966 Fiat 500 Gamine by Vignale There were less than 300 of these cars built and very few of these are left in existence, especially in this type of condition. This car received a full nut and bolt restoration about 6 years ago. This car has a 500cc, two cylinder air cooled gasoline engine with a 4 speed gearbox. The car starts easily and runs well. It is painted red and the interior is tan with red piping. A black tonneau is included. There are a couple of tiny chips and small paint drips, and a slight buckling of the glove compartment door, all easily repaired and truly don’t stick out. You can see everything in the pictures. A NON REFUNDABLE $2000 deposit is due within 24 hours of end of auction. The remainder is due within 7 days of the Auction end. This car is presented as is and not covered by warranty. If no contact is made within 48 hours I reserve the right to re-list the vehicle or sell it otherwise. Buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping of this vehicle. I strongly encourage a physical inspection to avoid any misunderstandings or representations. Feel free to ask any questions. I can be reached at (310) 701-6668. You will find many Jolly’s for sale but you will see very few of these. The car is still visually stunning today |

The Fiat 500 Cult celebrates the little car's success with a new top model
Thu, 06 Mar 2014The Fiat 500 has proved to be a huge success since first being introduced in 2007. In that time, Fiat claims that it has sold over 1.2 million units worldwide. For the 2014 model, the Italians are celebrating with a new top-spec version called the 500 Cult at the Geneva Motor Show, but it likely will be limited to the European market.
The Cult is available as both a hatchback and convertible and each receive their own, unique color. The coupe is available in a light mint green called Lattementa Green that recalls the 500s from the 1960s, and the convertible is offered in Three-layer White. Both models get gloss black trim around the taillights, and the bumperettes and tailgate handles are finished in chrome. Buyers can choose between black or chrome trim for the door mirrors, both presenting a very retro look.
Inside, the Cult gets standard leather and a dashboard painted the same color as the body. A new 7-inch TFT display sits in the middle of the instrument cluster, which manages the media player, telephone, trip computer and displays warning messages. Automatic climate control and rear parking sensors are standard, and coupes get a sunroof.
This Fiat 500 covered in human hair is a world record holder
Thu, 09 Oct 2014Are you the type of person picks up little pieces of lint or hair in your car to keep things clean? If so, then this Fiat 500 in Italy might just drive you insane. An Italian women and her classic Fiat 500 have received two Guinness World Records for creating the world's hairiest car.
Maria Lucia Mugno grabbed her first record in 2010 after she covered her Fiat in 220 pounds (100 kilograms) of human hair, according to Guinness. But apparently that wasn't enough, because she recently set a new milestone by increasing the car's tresses to 265 pounds (120kg). It reportedly took 150 hours to create her follicle Fiat art car.
Covering your vintage Fiat in human hair would certainly be odd enough, but the story takes an even weirder turn. According to World Car Fans, Mugno reportedly imports the locks from India because the hair there is supposedly stronger than what's available from Europeans. We just hope that the stuff is getting washed somewhere in the process.
Ferrari to be spun off from Fiat Chrysler
Wed, 29 Oct 2014The recently merged Fiat Chrysler Automobiles empire has ambitious plans for growth, and it's going to need some big bucks in its coffers in order to enact them. Part of that cash injection is coming from the floating of its IPO on the New York Stock Exchange, but now FCA has announced a further capital campaign to be based on the enormous asset that is Ferrari.
FCA's board of directors has just approved the separation of Ferrari from the rest of the group as a separate entity. Once that separation is complete, Ferrari will put 10 percent of its shares on the stock market "in the United States and possibly a European exchange" as well.
This isn't the first time that the idea of a Ferrari IPO has been raised. Sergio Marchionne, chief executive of Chrysler, Fiat and Ferrari (pictured above), first raised the idea four years ago. Former Ferrari chairman Luca di Montezemolo nixed the idea, but now that he's been discharged, it appears there's nothing to get in the way of Marchionne's desires.
