THANKS FOR VIEWING MY AUCTION!

SELLING MY 1989 MUSTANG NOTCHBACK 5.0 5SP. NO OPTION CAR, SUPER LIGHT. ROLL UP WINDOWS, NON POWER LOCKS, NO REAR DEFROST. THE CAR HAS ZERO RUST WITH ORIGINAL BLUE PAINT (NOW FADED BLUE) ORIGINALLY FROM CALIFORNIA AND NOW IN THE MIDWEST.NOTE THE PAINT IS 25 YEARS OLD AND LOOKS LIKE IT. PICS FOR UNDERNELTH CAR IS AS CLEAN AS BODY. I WAS TOLD FROM PREVIOUS OWNER THE STANG SAT IN THE GARAGE FOR 10 YEARS AFTER COMPLETELY REDOING THE ENGINE, BRAND NEW TRANS AND REAREND GEAR. ONLY DRIVEN 500 MILES SINCE DONE. FORNATELY HE KEPT MOST OF THE RECEIPTS WHICH I HAVE NOW. THE ENGINE WAS PUNCHED OUT TO A 306 NOW. HEARS A LIST OF STUFF DONE TO THE CAR, IM SURE THERE IS MORE IM FORGETTING:

* TRICK FLOW UPPER AND LOWER INTAKE.-TRICK FLOW TRISTED WEDGE HEADS.- TRICKFLOW STAGE 1 CAM,- CENTERFORCE CLUTCH,- MAGNAFLOW HIGH FLOW CATS AND CATBACK EXHAUST,- FORD RACING ROLLER CHAIN,- EAGLE I-BEAM CONNECTING RODS,- HIGH PERFORMANCE TRICK FLOW EGR SPACER,- 5 STAR PONY WHEELS WITH BRAND NEW TIRES,- 355 REAREND GEAR.  I TOTALLED THE AMOUNT OF RECIEPTS I FOUND, $7288.00. NOT SURE IF THAT INCLUDED LABOR.. DIDNT SAY.

THINGS I REPLACED.. BRAND NEW MSD 6AL IGNITION WITH MSD CAP AND ROTOR AND WIRES,- LOWERING SPRINGS (FORGOT THE NAME OF THEM),- SMOKED 6 PIECE HEADLIGHT KIT.

YOU CAN SEE FROM THE PICS, PAINT IS FADED, CHIPPED. INTERIOR NEEDS WORK, AS THE OTHER OWNER WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF CHANGING THE COLOR FROM BLUE TO BLACK. AS YOU CAN SEE THE SEATS ARE IN GOOD CONDITION. I THINK THE PICS SHOWS THE CONDITION OF CAR...  CAR DRIVES STRAIGHT DOWN THE ROAD. NO SURPRISES.

I BELIEVE THERE IS A COOLANT LEAK FROM SOME HOSE. NOT SURE WHERE. ROUGH IDLE, MOSTLY FROM CAM AND WAS TOLD THE TPS SENSOR IS OFF. I THINK SHOULD COVER IT. THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING MISSING, I JUST REMEMBER RIGHT NOW.

eBay Find of the Day: 1987 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe is showroom fresh

Tue, 27 Aug 2013

There's an ultra-rare Ford Thunderbird for sale on eBay, although it's not quite the T-Bird you're probably thinking. This is a 1987 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe, complete with a five-speed manual transmission and just a shade over 13,000 miles on the clock. The condition is said to be mint, and judging by the interior and exterior pictures, we're inclined to believe the seller. The paint is glossy and the interior looks showroom new, while the underbody is stunningly clean for a 36-year-old car.
Underhood sits a 2.3-liter, intercooled and turbocharged four-cylinder (also found in the Mustang SVO) that was producing 190 horsepower when it left the factory. Inside, the five-speed manual transmission adds to the car's rarity. The vehicle's sole owner has been as immaculate with the paperwork as he has with the rest of the car - it's all there, including brochures and other product material.
The eBay auction ends tomorrow at midnight (9:00 PM if you're on America's west coast). Bidding has reached $10,200, and there's still plenty of time to get in on this future classic. The vehicle is located in Millstone Township, NJ.

Martin Smith retires, Joel Piaskowski in as Ford Europe design chief

Thu, 29 May 2014

The mind behind the look of much of the modern Ford global range is retiring. Martin Smith, Head of Ford Design in Europe, will give up his position on July 1 and will leave the company altogether at the end of the year. He will be replaced by current Strategic Concepts Group leader Joel Piaskowski (pictured above).
Smith has led Ford of Europe design for the past 10 years, and he was partially responsible for the brand's Kinetic Design language with a large grille and swept-back headlights found on the Focus, Fiesta and C-Max, as well as several other vehicles abroad. After stepping down on July 1 until his retirement at the end of 2014, Smith will work on a project to decide the future direction of the company's look with Moray Callum, its vice president of design.
Piaskowski already has some impressive credentials in terms of automotive design as well. He joined Ford in 2010 as director of exterior design and led the teams responsible for the 2015 Ford Mustang and next-generation F-150. He was also previously design director at Ford Asia Pacific. Before working at the Blue Oval, Piaskowski held positions at Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai and General Motors. Scroll down to read the complete announcement of this changing of the guard.

Ford pits Cobra Jet versus GRC Fiesta ST, worlds collide

Thu, 31 Oct 2013

Racing takes on many forms in the automotive world. There are sanctioned events that are as varied and diverse as NASCAR, Formula One, Global Rallycross and drag racing, and to be good enough to win competitively in one discipline, you need to have a specialized vehicle. Or do you?
Ford decided to find out what would happen when its Global Rallycross Fiesta ST, driven by Tanner Foust, lined up against its Mustang Cobra Jet drag racer, driven by Roy Hill. In one lane, Tanner has just 2.0 liters of displacement to work with, while Roy has more than double that, at 5.0 liters. Evening the playing field a bit, Tanner has a massive turbocharger and all-wheel drive; Roy has to filter all his supercharged power through the rear wheels only.
So, who wins? We suggest you see for yourself in the press release and video below. And we're holding out hope that Tanner's challenge at the end results in another video from Ford Racing...
