Clean 1974 Ford Bronco on 2040-cars
Richmond, Kansas, United States
Hello, I have decided to sell one of my MAN TOYS. Here I have a 1974 Ford Bronco, half cab, 4wd, collector pickup. I've had this Bronco for awhile with plans of completely restoring it to new condition. It looks like I'm not going to get to it any time soon, so I have decided to sell it. This is a very solid pickup. No rust through spots! There is some surface rust on the under carriage, it is just that surface rust. The rest is rust free. The 302ci motor runs smooth and quiet (NO ISSUES). The transmission and transfer case is in excellent condition(NO ISSUES). IT IS RUNNING AND DRIVING RIGHT NOW. Very dependable 4x4. It has off road wheels and tires (aggressive tread) so down the highway is a little noisy. Turn key and jump in and go pretty much anywhere (no issues). These Bronco's are bringing big money because of there rare notoriety. I'm asking a fraction of what it's really worth. It's not new and in my opinion is in need of restoring (NOT A SHOW BRONCO), however also in my opinion it would not take to much effort to have it in show quality. Please ask questions prior to bidding and I will answer them the best I can...........THANKS FOR LOOKING............CHECK MY FEEDBACK......AND BID WITH CONFIDENCE.......I DON'T SELL JUNK |

Feds looking into Ford Explorer exhaust leak complaints
Fri, 20 Jun 2014There may be a burgeoning problem with exhaust leaks in the 2011-2014 model year Ford Explorer. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is examining multiple complaints of a gasoline smell in the cabin of these SUVs. However, the exact cause of this problem is still unknown.
"The agency is reviewing all available data and will take appropriate action as warranted," said a NHTSA spokesperson in an email to Automotive News. Owners seem to generally complain on the regulator's website of the smell entering the cabin through the air vents. At this time, the government organization has not yet opened an official investigation into the problem, though. When it does begin inspecting vehicles, NHTSA posts a detailed breakdown of its public data online.
Similar problems have been reported about the Explorer in the past, though. In 2013, Ford issued a recall for the 2013 model year of the SUV due to a fuel leak that could cause drivers to smell a gasoline odor and repaired them again later for another possible leak. In response to Autoblog's questions, Ford responded via email: "We are not aware of a NHTSA investigation. We are currently reviewing the case and in the event that any action is required, we will address it promptly."
George W. Bush's 2009 Ford F-150 fizzles with $300,000 bid at Barrett-Jackson [UPDATE: w/video]
Sun, 20 Jan 2013Despite some truly impassioned pleading from Jay Leno himself - including calling on Arizona's notoriously Republican-rich voters to beat the $600,000 level set the last time Leno sold a vehicle for this particular charity... in California - bidding for George Bush's 2009 Ford F-150 pickup truck stalled at $300,000.
All proceeds will be sent to the Fisher House Foundation, so at least it's $300K going to a good cause. Feel free to check out the live image gallery above, which includes shots showing Leno's skills helming the auction, and read through the official auction description below.
*UPDATE: Video of the auction and Leno's prods to the crowd for more money can now be seen below.
Curtain officially comes down on Mercury as dealers remove signage
Mon, 03 Jan 2011The process of shutting down the Mercury is complete. Ford officially made the decision to close its mid-level brand in June of 2010. In the months that followed, Ford offered its dealers money to stop selling the cars, with production shutting down in September. The last Mercury, a Mariner, rolled off the assembly line in the beginning of October and former spokesperson Jill Wagner said her good-byes to both the car and her job. Now the last piece of the brand has come down as dealers are removing any and all Mercury signage from their lots.
