The condition of the exterior, interior and engine can vary depending on the vehicle's history. See the seller's listing for full details and description of any imperfections.Seller Notes:"They're are a few imperfections on the vehicle, including a small area on the front grill where the paint is chipped, the back bumper also rubs on one side but it doesn't squeak and isn't noticeable until you look for it. There is also a small amount of rust on the very bottom of the body under the driver side door, but again is only noticeable under intense observation. The hood has two small dents in the center about halfway to the windshield. These were caused by the air intake protruding from the engine, these are also barely noticeable. The transmission has a very slow fluid leak, normally a drop every few hours. To fix this leak would involve dropping the transmission, so I feel that adding a little transmission fluid every now and then is a cheaper fix."

My family and I have had this vehicle in our possession for over 12 years. Most of that time we kept it in our barn at the house, and used to around the house and to run to town and back every now and then. Keep in mind the vehicle was still stock at that point, with the original 302 and manual 3-speed transmission. It was only 4 years ago that we decided to have it restored. Over the next 3 years our Bronco stayed at a custom vehicle shop in our hometown, where it was completely tore down to the frame, painted, and every old and worn out part was replaced, including the engine and the transmission. We decided to go with the beefed up hot-rod style, so that's where the Ford 347 Stoker engine came from. Complete with fuel injection and a dual air intake, this combination spits out a hefty 430 horsepower and 400lb of torque. Complementing this hog of an engine is a Magnaflow exhaust system, that makes it very obvious to anyone around when you pull out on the highway. But enough about just what's under the hood, this Bronco is decked out from head to toe. Starting at the front, we have a custom front bumper made for the 8000lb winch, controller included. The front axle is a Dana 40 complete with air-lockers, and in the back there is a Ford 9" rear end, also with air-lockers. The transmission is a Ford C6 automatic 3-speed which delivers even more low end torque. Transferring all this power is an Atlas Breaker transfer case, which enables 2-high, 2-low, 4-high, and 4-low; Traction for any occasion. In the area of traction we decided to give this beast a lot of it, and we accomplished just that with the 33" by 13.5" Dick Cepek Mud Country mud terrain tires. Around the all steel body the vehicle has all of its original decals, including the chrome 302 decal on both of the front fenders. Chrome running boards make the jump into the vehicle a little easier. All of this and we haven't even gotten to the interior. We replaced the original seats with two Corbeau racing seats of front, and a Corbeau bench in the back, all black leather. Protecting whoever is inside is a roll cage, just in case. Attached to the top of this roll cage is a weather proof, powder coated speaker box containing four 6'' by 9'' Marlin speakers, and behind the back bench seat is another speaker box with two 10'' Marlin subwoofers for the base notes. This can be accessed by a line-in cord running from the back speaker box and comfortably reaches the drivers seat. The entire interior floor is rhino-lined black. I mentioned earlier that there is a few imperfections, like most restored vehicles. There are few spots on the Bronco where the paint has either chipped or rubbed away. The chip on of the front grill and is smaller in size than the average pinkie finger nail. On the back left side of the vehicle the back bumper rubs the body and has rubbed a small area of paint away. And at the very bottom of the body under the driver side door there is a small amount of rust forming, but again it's virtually not visible when standing right next to the Bronco. Lastly there is a very slow transmission fluid leak, normally a drop every few hours. For a leak this slow I don't personally feel the need to drop the transmission and check the seal, but simply add a little fluid every now and then. Please forgive the dustiness of the interior, I happen to live on a dirt road and it is just too much to keep clean from day to day. I will gladly have the entire vehicle detailed upon purchase. In simple words this is a good solid and dependable truck, very collectible, it has tons of power and sounds great. If at all interested I still have the original 302 engine and manual 3-speed transmission that we took out and I am willing to sell those as well. You can contact me by email at tlwalkerlaw@aol.com, and my cell number is 1-713-829-5070. If you would like to wait till this add ends and make a deal not involving ebay that would be fine. Payment will have to be made in cash upon delivery or pick up, or wire transfer will also be accepted. I will be able to deliver within a 500 mile radius of Jasper, Texas.

NHTSA upgrades Ford floor mat unintended acceleration probe

Mon, 17 Dec 2012

According to a Bloomberg report, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has upgraded an investigation into complaints of unintended acceleration lodged against Ford vehicles. The investigation began in June of 2010 when just three complaints had been received and it only concerned the Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan, but this was at a time when the phrase "unintended acceleration" made grown men go pale. With 49 additional complaints received since then, the investigation has been reclassified as an engineering analysis - the last phase before a recall - and it has been expanded to include the Lincoln MKZ, making for a total of "around 480,000" units affected between the three sedans from the 2008 to 2010 model years.
The ostensible cause is that floor mats are trapping the accelerator pedal, but according to a Ford statement at the time, the entrapment is due to owners placing the optional all-weather floor mats, or aftermarket floor mats, on top of the car's standard floor mats. NHTSA has backed up that assessment, pinning the blame on "unsecured or double stacked floor mats."
On the face of it, it would appear that NHTSA has upgraded the status not because of Ford's error, but owner error, and Ford has stated publicly that it is "disappointed" in NHTSA's move. On top of NHTSA still being skittish after that other unintended acceleration debacle, it could be seen to be taking its time investigating all of the variables: it's reported that Ford changed its accelerator pedal design in 2010, a "heel blocker" in the floorpan has been considered a potential culprit in how the floor mats could be trapping the pedal, some drivers have said the floor mats weren't anywhere near the pedal, and according to a report in the LA Times, in "a letter sent by Ford to NHTSA in August 2010, the automaker said it found three injuries and one fatality that 'may have resulted from the alleged defect.'"

Ford starting up 2.0L EcoBoost engine production in Ohio

Fri, 22 Feb 2013

Joe Hinrichs, Ford's President of The Americas (pictured above), announced today that in late 2014, the automaker will be building the 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder at its Cleveland Engine Plant, a move requiring a $200-million investment and the hiring of 450 new employees. European-built Ford products will continue to source this engine from the Valencia, Spain plant where all of these EcoBoost four-cylinder engines are currently built, and the new Cleveland engines will be used for all North American-made models.
Ford is planning to build its popular EcoBoost engines regionally to maximize production capacity and meet customer demand. Last year, Ford sold 334,364 vehicles with EcoBoost engines in the US alone, and that number is expected to swell to more than 500,000 by the end of this year, with global sales expected to total 1.6 million. By 2015, Ford says that 95 percent of its nameplates will offer an EcoBoost engine.
One such vehicle that could be adding an EcoBoost engine, according to Automotive News, is none other than the 2015 Ford Mustang. The report says that Ford could use either the 2.0-liter EcoBoost or an upcoming 2.3-liter EcoBoost in the sixth-generation pony car.

Nelson Piquet and Nigel Mansell revisit bitter F1 rivalry in... Ford Fusion campaign?

Wed, 23 Jan 2013

Formula One World Champions Nelson Piquet and Nigel Mansell haven't been on good terms since the 1986 season, when Piquet joined Mansell at the Williams team and Piquet spent the year privately fuming about not being granted the status of number one driver. Things only got worse from there - even though Piquet won the title the following year with Williams, still partnered with Mansell, the fuming was a lot less private.
They're back together after a 25-year silence, in the city of Porto Alegre, Brazil to drive the new Ford Fusion. Called "Fusion Grand Prix," both men get the new Ford sedan, prepped to their liking - but still street legal, we assume - for a race to decide... well, who is faster behind the wheel of a Fusion.
There will be four episodes, with the first two having already aired. The third episode comes on January 29 and the race happens February 5. You'll find two video episodes and a press release below, but note - because it's a campaign for Ford Brazil, Piquet's dialogue in the vids isn't translated, so hit the Closed Captioning button to hear his side of the smack talking.
