1988 Ford Country Squire Lx Woody Wagon 5.0 V8 Fuel Injected, 4 Speed Automatic on 2040-cars
Wyckoff, New Jersey, United States
1988 Ford
Country Squire LX Woody Wagon 5.0 V8 Fuel Injected engine, 4 speed automatic
overdrive transmission. This wagon is
from the estate of the 2nd owner who recently passed. The wagon was stored in a garage until a few
years ago. Maintenance records
included! Low mileage, just 78,608! It
was last 2009. In 2004 the wagon had
67,000 miles so it was driven very little the last 10 years. The gas tank was emptied and replaced with
new gas and the car runs great now.
There is a minor exhaust leak but it makes it sound really cool. The valve cover gaskets leak a little after
driving a while. This is from the car
sitting for so long. It’s an easy
repair. The wagon can really benefit
from a complete tune-up and fluid changes but it isn’t necessary right now, it
drives great and always starts right up.
This classic wagon weighs less than 4000 pounds and gets great gas
mileage and has plenty of power, tires will spin if you step on it. Remember this has the Mustang engine so it’s
easy to work on and parts are plentiful.
Looks very retro like wagons from the 60s Country Squires but has all
the modern technology for a dependable cruiser.
Paint is all original and fading in some places. There is minor surface rust on the driver’s
door that can be easily repaired and color matched for very little money. The woodgrain stickers on the side are worn
and faded in spots. The owner had some
decals and reflectors that were removed from the painted surfaces but there is
some residue left behind that is noticeable if you look close. Most of the interior is nice, dash looks great,
no tears in the seats, door panels or headliner. Carpet is original and very nice and clean. The wagon is eligible for classic car
insurance and QQ classic license plates in NJ which means no inspection and can
cost less than $200 per year to insure with zero deductible. Clear
Connecticut title ready to go. Loaded with
options and room for everyone! u

2015 Ford Mustang to offer solid-rear axle, sort of
Tue, 17 Dec 2013One of the biggest knocks against the last Ford Mustang was its solid-rear axle. Not one to actively court criticism, Ford dutifully swapped out the old-fashioned rear end for something a bit more modern in the redesigned 2015 Mustang, adding an independent rear suspension across the board.
While an IRS Mustang is great news for those that value handling and ride comfort, there's one big group that it's bad news for - drag racers. See, a solid-rear axle is a big deal for drag racers, because not only is it more durable and cheaper, but it's better for the hard launches that can make or break a race.
To satiate this vocal demographic, Ford will sell a body-in-white version of the Stang, complete with a nine-inch rear axle, that will debut at the 2014 Performance Racing Industry show. The news came from gas2.org, which cited an unnamed employee of Ford Racing at this year's PRI show.
Watch how Ford torture-tested the 2015 F-150
Wed, 09 Apr 2014The Ford F-150 has been the best-selling truck in the United States for the past 37 years, and the best-selling vehicle outright for the past 32. That's quite a legacy, and thus, it's no surprise that Ford worked super-duper-extra hard on creating the all-new, aluminum-bodied 2015 F-150 that debuted at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year.
During an event at the company's headquarters in Dearborn, MI this week, we were able to see all of the ways that Ford endurance tests, not just the new F-150, but all of its vehicles. From examining things like light exposure to interior materials and paint finishes, to making sure that corrosion absolutely does not happen when steel components come in contact with aluminum panels in the new truck. The goal: ensure that the new F-150 is nothing short of "Built Ford Tough."
But that's only a small part of the story. Of course, the new F-150 has to be able to withstand whatever a pickup buyer might throw at it - and truck buyers arguably demand the most from their vehicles. So in an effort to convey just what the new F-150 had to go through before being given the final go-ahead, Ford has released a series of videos, showing how its new halo truck was indeed torture tested.
2015 Ford F-150 specs revealed, EcoBoost 2.7L to make 325 hp and 375 lb-ft [w/video]
Tue, 22 Jul 2014Our new man Greg Migliore is in attendance at a Ford media event at the Blue Oval's Dearborn, MI headquarters today, and he's reported in with a handful of the 2015 F-150 stats that we've been dying to know. Ford is slow-playing the news release here, but we can still offer up some interesting output and performance figures after half-year of waiting.
We have all be quite aware that Ford's shift to aluminum construction would save a lot of weight for F-150 models, and the results we're hearing now are duly impressive. For instance: in Super Crew trim, a 2015 F-150 is a whopping 732-pounds lighter than was its closest 2014-model-year equivalent. That's like hauling three middle-aged dudes to your bowling alley's league night for free. Polish your balls, guys.
Ford isn't willing to offer up any actual curb weights just yet, but if we take that 732-pound loss and extrapolate with the 5,128-pound curb weight of the 2014 F-150 Super Crew with the 3.7-liter V6, we can guesstimate that 2015 models will measure out in the 4,400-pound range. That's impressive.
