I'm selling my 2005 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor with 147,000 miles. Has cold AC, power windows/locks/mirrors, AM/FM cassette radio, front cloth bucket seats (no center console) and vinyl rear bench seat and vinyl flooring, new xenon headlight bulbs, new Fram AirHog air filter, new fuel filter, recent oil and filter change, new spark plugs, new rear diff cover gasket and fluid change, new battery and new blower motor. has the 200 amp HD alternator too. Outside is clean with only a few minor scratches; the interior is also clean with the exception of the driver's seat being dirty and a hole in the center front headliner where the ticket dome light was. (the switch was bad so I removed the assembly but left the harness connector in case I wanted to put in another one.) The PI idles, runs and drives excellent with great pickup and go. (it feels much quicker than my 07 PI) The 4R70W trans. shifts quickly and smoothly with only a firm shift into overdrive at higher speeds. The trans. does leak when parked and the problem seems to be the fluid was overfilled by the previous owner. I had to wire a horn button and mount it on the A pillar due to the fact the factory horn button on the steering wheel would not work. The blower motor resistor will have to be replaced as the HVAC fan still has only low and high speeds even though I put in a new blower motor; The resistor costs around $15 - $20. It will also need new tires soon. Other than that it drives very well and looks sharp too. The vehicle is being sold AS-IS with no warranties implied or otherwise. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask BEFORE YOU BID!!!!!! I will be more than happy to answer any and all questions. Winning bidder is responsible for vehicle pickup and/or transport/shipping arrangements and cost. Title is clear and there is a reserve price.

1947 Chevy rat rod pickup leaves rubber and smoke in its wake
Thu, 08 May 2014Cool comes in multiple flavors. One one hand, we have the sophisticated attraction of svelte design and the efficient use of power. Of course, on the other hand there is the allure of being the bad boy and going against the grain. That is part of the appeal of rat rods. Ideally, they are built without rules to an owner's specific tastes, and this widened and heavily modified 1947 Chevrolet pickup rod is a perfect example of that spirit.
Coming down the highway with a bent grille, rusted body and pouring smoke, it looks like the pickup from hell. It backs up the looks with some very impressive mechanicals too. Owner Troy Gubser says that the truck packs a Ford Power Stroke diesel with to 42 pounds of boost that runs out of 8-inch exhaust stacks at the back. He claims it managed 505 horsepower and 885 pound-feet of torque on the dyno. To harness all that power, this hot rod has a ZF five-speed manual gearbox with a ceramic clutch and short-throw shifter. Plus, it has cool little features like a doorbell on the tailgate that operates an air horn.
You might not expect a truck like this to actually be useful, but it has a fifth wheel coupling to haul an RV around drag races and car shows. The air suspension also probably keeps the ride fairly comfy when Gubser wants it to be. Scroll down to check out this beastly rat rod pickup and watch it engage in some diesel drag racing. Warning, there is some NSFW language.
Ford Mustang EcoBoost has fake engine soundtrack
Wed, 24 Sep 2014The 2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost represents a huge change for the Blue Oval as the first pony car in decades to be available with a four-cylinder engine. But a recent tweet (below) from Road & Track raised our curiosity about the new vehicle. Editor Jason Cammisa pulled a fuse while driving the latest 'Stang with the 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine, and he found that both the stereo and engine went quiet in the cabin. That indicated the coupe might have some form of artificial engine sound being piped in - a feature not previously heavily reported for the model. Autoblog spoke with Ford engineer Shawn Carney who confirmed that only the turbocharged four-cylinder Mustang comes with this system, called Active Noise Control.

Ford Ranger-based 7-seat SUV spotted testing
Wed, 29 May 2013Ford looks to be working on a new SUV version of its global Ranger pickup truck. An early prototype of a seven-passenger SUV based on the Ranger has been spotted testing in Australia, and word has it buyers in the region could expect to see the model in showrooms as soon as 2014, where it could sail under the Endeavour or Everest badges. Ford Australia currently sells the Territory SUV, so there's some chance that this model could be a successor to that throne, as well.
Whatever it's called, the long-roof Ranger will feature a shorter wheelbase and more ground clearance than its pickup twin, giving the machine a bit more off-road functionality. (And here we thought we couldn't want the global Ranger any more than we already do.) While this particular vehicle sports a Territory back half grafted onto a Ranger front end, odds are a public reveal of the finished product could occur as soon as the second half of 2014, making it a 2015 model.
