Ford Crown Victoria, P73, Fully Equipped Responder Car on 2040-cars

US $4,500.00
Year:2006 Mileage:139000
Location:

Youngsville, Louisiana, United States

Youngsville, Louisiana, United States

I'm selling my 2006 Ford Crown Victoria as my family is outgrowing it and I've got to get an SUV. This vehicle has a Texas Salvage title; it was in a front end collision early in its life. All repairs were made back to factory new conditions, and the frame was not bent. I have all the maintenance records on the vehicle since new.

The car has 139,xxx miles on it and is my daily driver, so the mileage will change but not by much. It is the P73 package, meaning it has the same engine as the P71 (Police Interceptor) but have the full power front bench and cloth seating all the way around. It also has the smoother suspension package from the one in the P71.

I bought it from a Houston PD officer, and used it for First Responder work while living in Houston. It is equipped with hideaway LEDS (R&B), a Federal Signal Smart Siren, and wig-wag headlight flasher. The emergency equipment will come with the vehicle only if you have the proper credentials to have such equipment.

I'm asking $4500 but that price is very much negotiable. I'd also entertain trades involving an SUV. You can call or text me at 985 two three two, two seven 78 if you have questions. The vehicle is in Lafayette, LA and is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early.

You will be responsible for coming to get the vehicle. I am happy to assist in getting the vehicle to the shipper, but once the payment is made, she's yours. I have described the vehicle to the best of my knowledge. Understand this, it is a daily driver, has scuffs and scratches on it, and no dents. You are welcome to come check out the vehicle or ask questions prior to your bid. With all that being said, the vehicle is being sold AS IS and WHERE IS, with no warranties expressed or implied.

I will require a $500 deposit within 24 hours of auction close, with full payment being made within 48 hours of that payment. I will re-list the vehicle if the payment is not made by that point and will leave the appropriate feedback.

Thanks for looking at my car.

A tribute to William Clay Ford

Tue, 11 Mar 2014

The passing of William Clay Ford has been a big event for the company he spent most of his life helping run. Ford spent 57 years working for his family's company. Considering the Blue Oval has been around for over 100 years, WCF's passing is the end of an era for the Dearborn-based manufacturer.
Ford's YouTube channel has issued a short memorial video highlighting the life of the longest-lived grandson of company founder Henry Ford. It follows William Clay from his time as a boy, showing him alongside his grandfather, through his younger years, and into his twilight, as the patriarch of the Ford family.
Take a look below for this touching memorial video on William Clay Ford.

Detroit's new fleet of donated police cars have safety issues [w/video]

Wed, 23 Oct 2013

In a show of generosity in mid-August, Detroit's business leaders donated $8 million to the Police Department and Fire Department in order to buy 100 new police vehicles and 23 EMS ambulances. But now officers have discovered - and complained - that the police vehicles have glaring safety issues, Deadline Detroit reports. It is not made clear what models of the fleet vehicles - which include police versions of the Ford Taurus, the Chevrolet Caprice and the Dodge Charger - are affected by the safety issues.
Officers reportedly have complained that the Plexiglass partition separating front-seat officers and back-seat prisoners is easily breached, and that the front passenger seat is installed too close to the dashboard. Prisoners who manage to writhe out of their handcuffs can bend the Plexiglass and reach into the cockpit, and sitting too close to the dashboard can render airbags more dangerous and make officers more vulnerable to injury in a crash.
Mark Diaz, president of the Detroit Police Officers Association, received the complaints and reportedly said the vehicles would get safety updates addressing the issues. But Deadline Detroit reports that it checked some of the offending police cars and, as of the last few days, they hadn't been updated.

Ford invests $682 million in Edge-producing Canadian facility

Sun, 22 Sep 2013

Ford announced that it's investing $682 million in its Oakville assembly plant in Ontario, Canada, to make it a global manufacturing plant, which the automaker also says secures 2,800 jobs there. Including this injection of cash, Ford has invested over $2 billion in Canada in the last decade, starting with nearly $1 billion for Oakville in 2004, and over $570 million for its Essex Engine Plant in 2010.
The move to make Oakville a global manufacturer of Ford vehicles means, "If consumers suddenly shift their buying habits, we can seamlessly change our production mix without having to idle a plant," says Joe Hinrichs, Ford's president of the Americas.
Ford says that the latest investment will help it meet North American demand for the Oakville-produced Edge crossover, which is on track this year to beat 2007's US sales record of 130,000 Edges. The Ford Flex and Lincoln MKX and MKT are also manufactured at the plant.
