Up for auction is a 2004 Ford Heavy Duty  Cargo Van.  The wife and I was looking for something decent to convert into a camper but due to age and health, I  really don't see that happening in the near future.  This was the best Van for the money that we could find.   The van is in excellent condition, no visible rust. It has a few small rock chips in the paint but nothing to really worry about.  Nothing dented or bent. Good straight body.   The drivers seat and passenger seat have one small wear spot on each, other that that the interior is like new.    Non-smoker, senior driven.  It has had great care, regular maintenance, resulting in the van being in great mechanical shape thru out. Starts great in sub-zero temputure's.Tires are new 16 inch B.F. Goodyear.   It has automatic overdrive, power steering, power brakes, cruise control, and air conditioning and a heater that will run you out. It has three rear seats, one wide bench and two jump seats seats accessible by two side doors. It has a Braum Millnenniun Electric lift at the rear. The lift is in excellent condition and work's very smooth thru it's cycle. It also has hold down slots and straps mounted in the floor for holding wheelchair bound lndividuals in place.  Nice safety feature. It has a row of overhead lights and an extra spotlight at the rear that comes on when the lift is in use for night time loading,  and has a flashing red light on the dash that is activated when the lift is in use and does not go out until the lift is secured and the rear doors are shut.  It also has the "High Top" option for ease of movement in the Van.  It is equipped with a 35 Gallon fuel tank for long trips.   According to the manufactures chart, it should get 14 M.P.G. in town, 18 M.P.G. on the road.   Not bad for a Heavy Built van.   I noticed the rear elec. lift rattles when driving over bumpy roads. I think electric tape at the point of rattle will cure this.   Other than that, the van is really tight. The van was senior driven, used to transport elderly wheelchair bound indivivual's.   With it's heavy duty chassis and cargo capacity it could be used as a work van for plumbers, electricians, carpet installers, mechanics e.t.c or simply use is for what it was built for, transporting the elderly.  Why pay $35000 or $40000 for a new one.  There is a lot of good miles left in this Van.
I think I covered all base's here but if you have a question or two, feel free to call 1  309-235-0550     Ask for John,   If the wife answers, she could probable answer your question's. We are'nt trying to make a fortune here, just re-coup some money that we have in it. No warranty, we did'nt get one when we bought it,  don't get scared, there is nothing wrong with it.   you are getting a good van well worth the money.
Winning Bidder to pay a $500 Deposit by way of cash or postal money order, balance to be paid when Van is picked up unless other arraingments are made between buyer and seller.  Bid with condfidance , bid often and good luck on owning a really good van.

On Jan-29-14 at 19:16:16 PST, seller added the following information:

$500 Postal money order or pay/pal Deposit within 5 business day's of auction's end.   Will accept cash/postal money order for balance, no personal check's on balance unless other arraingments are made between Buyer and seller.
Have clear title in my name..

Ford opens the doors on its Swedish rally skunkworks

Fri, 19 Sep 2014

It's always amazing to see how different kinds of racecars are made. Formula One racers are often constructed in modern architectural marvels that hint at some of the cutting-edge technology going into the racing. Conversely, rallying is all about sliding around on a varied course as fast as possible, but it often leaves a vehicle caked in mud. So it makes some sense Olsbergs MSE, or simply (OMSE) rally car shop in Nynashamn, Sweden, shows technological sophistication in a more down-to-earth setting. It builds Ford Fiesta ST racers for Global Rallycross there, and this new video gives viewers a tour through the work.
Former rally driver Andreas Eriksson runs OMSE. These days instead of racing, he and the company's 46 employees are building Ford racers from scratch. A ton of work goes into constructing each one, and according to Eriksson, it takes 400 hours to complete each body. At times, things are so busy that some of the technicians live in the shop in apartments that are on premises. There's even a restaurant to keep them fed. Sadly the dyno room is empty during this visit, though.
By the time OMSE is done, a rallycross car might resemble a Fiesta ST on the outside, but as you see in the video, it's a completely different beast underneath. Check out the work it takes to build one of them, and scroll down to read more about it in the official release.

China takes lead as GM's No. 1 market

Tue, 09 Jul 2013

It's happened. General Motors' biggest vehicle market - at least in terms of new model sales - is China. According to TheDetroitBureau.com, GM and its various Chinese joint venture operations enjoyed a 10.6-percent sales increase in the first half of 2013, selling almost 1.6 million units in the market. That puts GM China about 200,000 units ahead of its US sales totals over the same period - this, despite indicators that the communist nation's economy is losing momentum.
TDB notes that like GM, rival Ford has also enjoyed a robust 2013 in China thus far, with its sales up a whopping 47 percent to 407,721 units sold - 75,254 of them in June alone. Between the two US automakers, passenger car sales for the first half of 2013 are up around 14 percent, well ahead of the rest of the industry's 10-percent growth estimates for the market. Some of the sales growth may come as a result of an overall anti-Japan sentiment in China, though the American brands have long outsold their Japanese counterparts in the country.
By The General's own predictions, China will only continue to grow in sales importance. The company has designs on selling over five million cars a year in the market before the end of the decade, a total that figures to dramatically widen the gap versus its US totals - even if America's auto market makes a full recovery to the the salad days of over 17-million units a year.

Fiat boss Elkann being mentored by... Bill Ford?

Tue, 26 Mar 2013

Fiat Chairman John Elkann has been turning to an unusual source for advice on the car business. While speaking during an interview with The Detroit News, Elkann said he often asks Bill Ford Jr. for advice on how to proceed with the turnaround at Chrysler. "It's great to have the opportunity to share this with someone like Bill, who has experienced many things and gone through many things ... especially linked to Detroit." Elkann said.
As the Agnelli family heir, Elkann has inherited a long and fruitful friendship with the Ford family. While Giovanni Agnelli built his first Fiat four years before Henry Ford created his first vehicle, it was Ford that showed Agnelli the benefits of mass production and helped pave the way for what would become the Fiat empire.
Giovanni's grandson, Gianni, helped mentor Bill Ford when he was elected chairman of Ford Motor Company. Now, Ford is returning the favor by helping Elkann navigate the automotive industry's tumultuous waters.
