Ok before I describe this 1986 Ford Escort"L"2dr hatchback if your looking for mint not this car,if you are looking for basic transportation,1st car, or your on a budget or just bought a new or fairly new car and it is getting scratched, dinged, banged etc and you dread parking it in the parking lot by your job, bus, train, than this is the "ugly" duckling you need.It has traveled only 64k and has a gas sipping 1.9 litre carb mtr mated to a great shifting trans, power steering, power brake,a/c(needs charge)factory am/fm(fm not working slide is sticking I'll include for free a AM/FM/CD player you install) has factory dual sport mirrors.Ok,paint is  faded/dull/scratched/dented/rusted.The seats however are in good shape no rips/tears/burns etc as is the headliner, dash does have cracks(age and the almighty SUN),rugs are good too, rear hatch (spare tire) is in good shape. It does qualify for classic insurance so if you do have another car on the road this should cost you(on a classic policy) roughly $100-$200 a year to insure(at a agreed value of $1500-$2000).I have a clean NY title in hand and there is no warranty/guarranty on any part of this car strictly as is where is.It is for sale at NO RESERVE.Again I stress this is a basic transportation car if you would like to make an offer pls call me at 718 637-0780 or e-mail your offer with a valid phone number,Installed used driver side front marker($30) used driver side sport mirror($35) new rear hatch lifts($50)Thxs for looking.....Vinny

2015 Ford Mustang option prices gallop onto the web

Tue, 22 Apr 2014

The 2015 Ford Mustang is one of the most anticipated cars of the year, despite the fact that production hasn't yet begun. What's a pony car fan to do? It turns out that Ford already has pricing and options information about the vehicle in its dealer ordering system. A few enterprising folks have snapped some pictures from it and have posted them online. You might not be able to drive your car yet, but you can at least see what it might cost.
At the moment, Ford appears to be splitting the Mustang into five models - 3.7-liter V6, 2.3-liter EcoBoost, GT with the 5.0-liter V8, 50th Anniversary and SVT. There are 10 available paint colors, 2 of which require an extra outlay. Triple Yellow is $495, and Ruby Red Tint is $395. Regardless of model, navigation goes for $795, and reverse parking assist is $295.
For both the EcoBoost and GT, the six-speed automatic tacks an extra $1,195 to the sticker, and adaptive cruise control is the same price. The GT also has a limited-slip 3.55 rear end for $395 and a GT Performance package for $2,495. Recaro leather seats add an extra $1,595. For the EcoBoost, there's something called EcoBoost Performance package for $1,995. The system doesn't say what the packages include.

EU formally questions French government assistance of Peugeot's finance arm

Fri, 28 Dec 2012

Recently, the finance arm of PSA/Peugeot-Citroën was in such debt trouble that it was pricing itself out of the car loan market. The rates it was paying to service its debt, which was rated one step above junk, were so high that it was forced to charge car-buying customers higher rates than they could find elsewhere. This was adding to Peugeot's already impressive woes by sending revenue out the door to competitors.
Two months ago a deal was worked out with the French government whereby the state would provide 7 billion euro ($9 billion USD) in bonds to guarantee the finance arm's loans. The French government could nominate someone to join the Peugeot board, Peugeot would guarantee more French jobs, and on top of that deal, other banks would provide non-guaranteed loans. The government would take no equity stake in the car company.
Although not yet finalized, the arrangement is meant to create some breathing room for Peugeot Finance to lower its interest rates for customers, and a government-nominated board member, Louis Gallois, was recently named to Peugeot's supervisory board. The arrangement was also openly questioned by at least three competitors: Ford, Renault - which is 15-percent owned by the French government after it received state aid - and the German state of Lower Saxony, itself a 15-percent shareholder in Volkswagen.

Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 has a bit of a dyno issue

Tue, 28 May 2013

We're of the mind that each and every dyno should come with Murphy's Law painted in big, visible letters down the side. For every ten successful dyno runs out there, it seems there's one where events to horribly wrong. Take, for example, the video below. The clip shows what happens when a Ford Shelby GT500 and a mobile dyno have a bit of a disagreement at the Performance Expo 24 in Sherbrooke, Quebec. We won't spoil the results for you, but we will say there's some substantial carnage involved.
It's unclear just how much damage ensues from the dust up or whether anyone was harmed in the incident, but from the looks of things, everyone made it out without serious injury. If only we could say the same for the machines involved. Check out the video below.
