2003 Ford Excursion Limited 4x4.(The spelling error in the title is Ebay's doing)

I purchased this truck in 2009 for a work truck. I used it for that for about a year. After that I decided to make it into a project truck. Life got in the way and the truck has sat for past 3 years without being driven, and I need to free up the space.

Details of the truck.

It has some rusty body panels, as it is on Ohio truck. I did use Kimball Midwest's rust convertor on the frame and undercarriage and Rustoleum paint to rein in the rust that Ohio can cause.

Due to sitting for so long the brake lines have begun to rust, one of them has failed so the truck will have to be hauled out by the purchaser.

The truck had a Road Armor bumper on it at one time, I sold it already, but a OEM bumper and brackets are included with the truck.

Modifications I have done to the truck.

1. Swamp's Diesel 58V FICM  Pepped the truck up nicely without having to be concerned about pushing it as hard as a programmer or flash will do.
2. AFE Stage 2 Cold Air intake.
3. V-Code Rear Spring Swap.
4. Performance Metal Fab 4" Rear Blocks,
5. Sky's Off Road Design's 4.5" Front Hanger and Shackle lift kit.
6. Summit Racing 4" Full exhaust

With what I have done, the truck rides much smoother than stock, and has a good amount of throttle response.

Stuff that Comes with the truck.
As I mentioned above a new front bumper and brackets.
GOS Performance EGR Delete kit (Uninstalled)
Ford IPR valve (Figured that it made sense to put a new one on when installing EGR Delete, which I never did.)

Aussie Ford Falcon GT shows its rear end to Lamborghini Gallardo

Sun, 27 Apr 2014

When Ford Australia announces, as it did recently, that it wants to celebrate the end of its Ford Performance Vehicle division with a Falcon FPV GT-F that celebrates big-bore origins of the nameplate, it's talking about the kind of car in this video.
At some point the classic Falcon GT - said to be an XY series - was invited to a test of acceleration against a Lamborghini Gallardo. At the very least, the Falcon GT had a 351 cubic-inch motor and 300 horsepower, but whatever this guy's got under the hood of his yellow sedan makes has him so confident that he doesn't even move his elbow from its resting place on the door.
You'll find a reminder of Ford Australia's heyday, a raucous exhaust note and some NSFW language in the short video below.

Has the 2015 Ford Mustang gained hundreds of pounds?

Sun, 01 Jun 2014

Automakers face competing interests when it comes to developing a new generation of vehicle. On the one hand, companies want to build their cars to be safer and better handling, with more equipment and maybe even larger dimensions over the model it's replacing. On the other hand, they strive to keep weight down to the benefit of both performance and fuel consumption. Usually something has to give, and in the case of the new 2015 Ford Mustang, those efforts may have resulted in a weight penalty of two or three hundred pounds.
This according to Blue Oval modifier Steeda Autosports, which states that "the 2015 Mustang ended up gaining 200-300 pounds in this remake". Despite the Mustang not being on the market yet, it would appear the leading Ford aftermarketer has been given early access to the 2015 model to help jumpstart its tuning efforts (a rather common development among trusted tuners). If Steeda's assertion is accurate, that would make the challenge of getting the new pony car up to speed for both Ford and aftermarket customizers like Steeda that much greater.
We're waiting for official word from Ford on the veracity of Steeda's claim, but if true, it's bound to be a bit of disappointing news for legions of Blue Oval performance enthusiasts. Watch this space for more.

Ford F-150 SVT Raptor sales jumping to new heights

Thu, 12 Sep 2013

Ford can't seem to build F-150 SVT Raptors fast enough. The off-road-ready trucks have been one of the Blue Oval's most reliable sellers, with record sales in eight of the last 10 months and a 14-percent jump in 2013. That's impressive enough, considering that the least expensive Raptor starts at $44,000. Factor in the modded F-150's fuel economy (it's rated at 11 miles per gallon in the city and 16 on the highway) and a national average gas price, as of this writing, of $3.55 per gallon, and its success is as unlikely as Ford's home team, the Detroit Lions, winning the Super Bowl this year (sorry, Lions fans, we're just quoting the experts in Vegas...).
Yet for some reason, Raptors spend an average of just 15 days on dealer lots before being snapped up, which is a quarter of the 60-day industry average. According to Ford's truck group marketing manager, Doug Scott, it's capability that keeps the Raptor selling strong. "What's helping drive Raptor sales is that Raptor delivers unmatched off-road performance to our customers. Raptor is also proof of our commitment to offer a truck for every customer and continuously improving them to meet our customers' evolving needs."
To address the strong demand for Raptors, Ford will bump production from three trucks per hour to five. Not much, we agree. But building an extra 48 trucks per day, at most, seems like a prudent way of addressing demand without oversaturating what is ultimately a niche market. Check out the press release below for more.
