1999 Ford Explorer XLT

6 cylinder SOHC

Details:
*Had salvage title when I bought it last summer. Vehicle had front end damage. Hood has been replaced as well as a lot of the front end pieces and headlights, etc. I have receipts with vin numbers for all parts that were replaced on the car.*
Working CD Player
Working am/fm raido
Working cassette player
Both the AC and Heat are in perfect working order!
4wd works to the best of my knowledge. I love driving this vehicle in the snow.
Power windows
Power locks (Lock on passenger door does not lock with button. Has to be manually pushed down to lock.)
Power sunroof
Power leather seats (Leather is worn on front seats. Comes with seat covers.)
Working horn
Rust on tailgate (I have a replacement tail gate for it.)
Car is blue, hood is black
There's a bit of random brown paint on the hood from when I was repairing the front end.
No spare tire
Has ball hitch
Damage on rear drivers side door.
Rust on rear drivers side door, rear panel, and near gas intake. (Where nearly all rust forms on these years/models.)
Steering wheel cover.
The ABS light it on and has been since I acquired it last year.
It has been stalling a bit when it is below 10 degrees outside. I believe it is due for a new battery.
It's coming up on needing an oil change soon.
I do not know what condition the brakes and rotors are in. I've never looked at them.
Working Compass/Thermometer
Working key pad entry WITH code.
1 keyless entry remote
2 programmable keys (these are $75-$125 and up depending on where you go)
Roof Rack
Tilt Wheel
Rear air conditioning/heat
Carpets are in decent shape, comes with rubber floor mats and has the carpet mat for the cargo bay.
Interior map light are currently not working. They need replacement bulbs.

Recently (1/20/2013) the check engine light turned on. Possible Master Air Flow problem or problem with throttle.

This is a very good truck if you know how to turn a wrench. Even better if you do body work.

This has been my everyday driver since July. I am upgrading to a v8.

Any other questions, please ask!

Ford Fiesta rally car warms up in Sweden

Tue, 18 Mar 2014

Rallycross is seeing a sudden surge in popularity with two series bringing the racing to the US and Europe. The Ford OMSE team is competing in both championships this season, and it saw no reason not to hold practice with a highly modified Fiesta in the snow of Northern Sweden. It brought together Andreas Bakkerud from the European-focused FIA World Rallycross Championship and Patrik Sandell from the North American-focused Global Rallycross series for some training and fun. They certainly appear to be enjoying themselves, too, with some lovely pirouettes in the powder.
If you're unfamiliar with rallycross, the discipline combines the best of rallying and circuit racing. Drivers (with no co-drivers) race rally cars over a circuit that generally mixes dirt and asphalt, and unlike traditional rallying, multiple cars compete side-by-side at once. Even better, it's often a very two-fisted form of motorsports with lots of car-to-car contact. Global Rallycross and World Rallycross will both kick off their seasons in May. With spring on the way, scroll down to watch the Fiesta kick up some of the last snow drifts of the year.

2015 Ford Mustang vs. Camaro and Challenger [w/poll]

Thu, 17 Jul 2014

The horsepower wars are tightening among the Detroit Three, as the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger are getting bigger, more powerful, and yes, more fuel efficient.
That came into sharper focus this week as more information was revealed about the most insane Challenger ever - the 707-horsepower Hellcat - followed quickly by Ford's in-depth showcase of the 2015 Mustang in Dearborn.
It's shaping up to be a golden age for enthusiasts, and what's under the hood is becoming more important than ever.

Vaughn Gittin Jr. takes his dog for a drift

Tue, 09 Sep 2014

Vaughn Gittin Jr. spends a great deal of his workday going sideways, but he's usually alone in the endeavor. For a guy that is clearly a dog lover, we imagine that can get a bit lonely.
That won't be a problem for Gittin in this latest video, which features the racer hanging out with his good pal Brody (a dog) and everyone's favorite hot hatch, the Ford Fiesta ST.
