It will need a muffler in the near future (at least I think it would) It does have NEW/NEWER Brakes Rotors and Pads, Battery, Radiator (had a leak, so I just had it replaced other then fixing a used one). The chrome ring on the front driver rim came unglued and lost while driving, it looks a little tacky, but nothing wrong with the rim. Steel rims with factor chrome. If you have any questions please ask !!"

Hello, I would like to start by saying (since some people don't read the whole listing) this is a pick up item only. I will be willing to pick you up at the airport (as I have done before) or be home to help if YOU HIRE someone to haul it for you. Please feel free to look over at my feedback as a seller. I have sold cars, trucks and a boat...100% PLEASE read everything, the good, bad and the ugly and ask questions if you think of anything. I will help you the best I can...thank you.

This 1997 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer Edition is a good daily driver. I would say it's in good condition, but feel free to contact me about anything... pictures, video or just some questions. After the auction it's a done deal and being sold AS IS - WHERE IS, with NO warranties implied.

The history on this SUV as I know it: I bought it back early 2010 I think it was...I drove it back and forth to work so I didn't rack the miles up on my newer SUV, later I let my son drive it for about a year while he was prepping for the Air Force. He has since bought him a new SUV and this is why it is now here on Ebay. I bought it from a lady as it was hers, but she gave it to her daughter to go to school, so I don't really know what titled owner I am but I do know four people within two families have drove it. But the car fax that ebay provides will clear that up for you.

Now about the Explorer: The KBB shows that it could retail above 5k and the private party is over $3,800.
It is an All Wheel Drive and does GREAT, never an issue for me or my son in the winters. The 5.0 V8 really does very well on gas I was getting between 19-22 miles per gallon on the highways (all depends on how one drives). Tires have many miles left and the four wheel disk brakes have new rotors and pads. Power: leather front seat, windows, sunroof, mirrors... No hitch, so it's never pulled anything! It does have a 6-CD player as well.

As I stated it is a good daily driver and looks pretty good as well. But lets be for real it's not new, so there again ask anything before the auction ends and not pick fly poop out of the pepper after the auction...lol...ok! It's a good 1997...

Ford books $1.2B profit in second quarter on strength of trucks

Wed, 24 Jul 2013

Ford is rolling along nicely, with a positive second-quarter sales report and a $2.3 billion profit in North America. The Dearborn, Michigan-based manufacturer captured $1.2 billion globally from April to June, with a $177 million profit in Asia. Even in Europe, the land of doom and gloom for automakers not named Mazda, Ford saw some success as it lowered its expected full-year loss from $2 billion to $1.8 billion. The company lost $348 million in Europe during the second quarter, which, believe it or not, represents a $56-million improvement over 2012.
According to the report on CNBC, Ford enjoyed a three-percent increase in pre-market trading thanks to the news. The strong demand for the F-150 propelled growth in the US market, while Ford's 47-percent increase in Asian sales can be attributed to the new EcoSport crossover and Kuga (Ford Escape in the US) arriving in the somewhat fragile Chinese market.
Pre-tax profits for Ford are expected to be in the neighborhood of $8 billion by the end of the year, with sales the US, Europe, and China all looking up. The company also shifted $4.78 billion of asset-backed debt in the form of bonds, according to a report by Bloomberg. This move came amidst rumors of the Federal Reserve cutting back on its $85-billion-per-month bond purchases. Ford wasn't alone among automakers looking to sell off debt, though, as Mercedes-Benz and Nissan shifted around $1 billion each in bonds relating to auto loans.

Ford pits Cobra Jet versus GRC Fiesta ST, worlds collide

Thu, 31 Oct 2013

Racing takes on many forms in the automotive world. There are sanctioned events that are as varied and diverse as NASCAR, Formula One, Global Rallycross and drag racing, and to be good enough to win competitively in one discipline, you need to have a specialized vehicle. Or do you?
Ford decided to find out what would happen when its Global Rallycross Fiesta ST, driven by Tanner Foust, lined up against its Mustang Cobra Jet drag racer, driven by Roy Hill. In one lane, Tanner has just 2.0 liters of displacement to work with, while Roy has more than double that, at 5.0 liters. Evening the playing field a bit, Tanner has a massive turbocharger and all-wheel drive; Roy has to filter all his supercharged power through the rear wheels only.
So, who wins? We suggest you see for yourself in the press release and video below. And we're holding out hope that Tanner's challenge at the end results in another video from Ford Racing...

Ford dealer loses Super Bowl bet, pays $300K to lucky customers [w/video]

Tue, 11 Feb 2014

A Missouri Ford dealership's Super Bowl weekend sale cost it big when the improbable happened. Hutcheson Ford ran a promotion from January 29 to February 1, called the Super Weekend Sale. The gist was, if any customer purchased a vehicle between those dates and either the opening or second-half kickoff of the big game was returned for a touchdown, the dealership would refund the purchase price.
In the dealership's defense, it seemed like a safe bet. According to the mathematicians, there was just a 2.5-percent chance of either half opening with a touchdown return. But that didn't stop Seattle's Percy Harvin from doing his part to ruin Denver's evening, returning the second-half kick for an 87-yard touchdown run. Twelve Hutcheson customers were eligible for refunds thanks to the return, with prices ranging from $10,000 to $55,000, according to Automotive News. The total amount shelled out by the dealership? $300,000.
"At least we're not like that furniture guy that lost $7 million," dealership marketing manager Kathleen Frazier told AN. We think it was a big success." The dealership did take out insurance to cover its losses, meaning the $300K won't come entirely from its pockets.
