1954 Ford F250
Truck had complete frame-off restoration about 15 years ago. Frame was coated with POR 15, has new wiring, Ford 302 ci V-8 from a 1970 Torino. Motor has an Edelbrock intake and 4bbl carburetor, Accel HEI ignition and chrome 1 wire alternator. The C 6 automatic transmission and the Dana rear end came out of a 1981 Ford truck which allows the truck to cruise at speed on the Interstate. Have driven it over to Cruisin the Coast the last two years. The rest of the truck is original including the heater, radio and Fomoco spotlight. The truck has PPG basecoat/clearcoat in original Torch Red and Raven Black. The odometer shows a little over 59,000 miles which due to the history of the truck is believed to be original mileage. The truck was originally purchased by New Orleans Charity Hospital and had been on blocks since the early 70's before I purchased it and restored it. A little interesting note, the truck came from Bolton Ford dealership in New Orleans. Bolton Ford is the dealership that was visited by the FBI shortly after the JFK assassination because somebody claiming to be Lee Harvey Oswald went to the dealership to purchase some trucks for the "Free Cuba" movement a few months before the assassintion. Anyway, the truck is a great example of an F250; most of these trucks did not survive their youth due to the heavy use they were put through. It has an 8 foot bed finished in Red Oak with White Oak used on the side stakes (which can be removed). The truck runs well, but it is an older restoration. This is a driver and not a show truck. It is great to drive to cruise-ins or to the local Home Depot. This is a solid, heavy duty steel truck with no filler and no fiberglass parts. Original 16 inch rims with fairly new tires. How that awesome Mustang R/C car chase vid was made
Tue, 06 Aug 2013We've reported on a few R/C car chase videos in the past. One in particular that stands out as a favorite is Zach King's "The Cliché RC Action Chase." It featured a pair of Ford Mustang coupes racing through a cardboard city, plowing into outdoor patios and busting through construction zones. It was wonderfully creative and fun to watch, yet we know there was more to its creation than a bunch of guys fooling around with a camera one afternoon.
Turns out we were right, as evidenced by this video produced by Ford that takes us behind the scenes of Zach's creation. The young filmmaker explains why he chose the Mustang to star in his video, as well as how the cardboard sets were created, what equipment they used for shooting and what it was like when his video went viral. Ford found the young filmmaker and produced the followup as part of its Mustang Countdown video series, which will see a new video about the Mustang culture released every week until the original muscle car's anniversary on April 17, 2014.

Ford confirms launch of new Tourneo vans and Ecosport in Europe for Geneva
Sun, 24 Feb 2013We've already seen plenty of what the Geneva Motor Show will have in store for us in less than two weeks, but most of the confirmed debuts that were announced so far have generally been luxury or performance cars. Ford, on the other hand, will be showing off a couple of its new family-friendly models for European buyers to enjoy.
On the larger side of things, the full range of Tourneo vans (shown above) will be on display, including the introduction of the new Tourneo Courier model, but Ford will also be showing off the all-new EcoSport crossover, which is based on the automaker's Global B platform and will be positioned beneath the Kuga, better known here as the Escape. The subcompact EcoSport was originally unveiled at the Beijing Motor Show last April.
Ford gets colorful with Mustang anniversary infographic
Thu, 24 Oct 2013Preparing to celebrate its 50th birthday, the Ford Mustang has seen a lot of vehicle trends come and go, and this especially goes for paint colors. Using historical production data, Ford has managed to create an infographic dating back to 1967 that breaks down the three top Mustang colors for each year as well as calling out some of the more interesting trends and colors over the years.
Over its five generations, the Mustang has been offered in a seemingly endless rainbow - from Playboy Pink in '67 and color-changing Mystichrome on the 2004 Cobra - but the most popular has always been red, which is the color of choice for 21 percent of all Mustangs ever made. Almost every year since 1967, red has been among the top three colors for the Mustang, but other popular colors have included blue, white, brown and, most recently, black. There are even websites and registries available for people owning certain-color Mustangs.
As the all-new 2015 Mustang gets ready for its debut later this year, there's no telling what kind of exciting and/or wacky colors Ford has in store.
