 1966 Ford F-100 Short Box with a V8 352 with overdrive. 2WD.

It runs and but the drive line need to be cut in order for it to drive. I haven't had the time or the money to do it. I had pulled the gas tank too and painted it so it just needs to be put back behind the seat. I didn't get a chance to bolt the front clip on properly before I had to move it so the passenger door currently won't open. The seat needs to be reupholstered as well. Whoever owned it before me fixed the floor pans so there is no through rust. The worst part of rust is on the rear bumper were it has some through rust. The body is really straight and would be a good candidate for a restore if you wanted to go that far with it. It has a Warner T-85N transmission which is the 3 on the tree 3 speed with the overdrive transmission. 352 V-8 for an engine. The odometer reads 87760 which I don't think the odometer has rolled past 100000 miles yet because before we put the 352 in the short box the engine ran superb and had no issues. (It was in a 66 long box I had and when I got the short box it had a 351 Cleveland in it, we pulled the 351 Cleveland out) I was planning to restore this truck but don't have the time to do it anymore. The frame is partly painted and the inside of the front clip is painted. There are very few dents, all of which I took pictures of. I can't post them all so email me if you want pictures of all of the ones I could find on it. It's a great little truck and I hate to get rid of it. The windshield needs to be replaced as it has a crack in it. It wouldn't cost much to get it up and running, it'll just take a little bit of time and it'll run like a champ again. It's definitely got a lot of power and it's a blast to drive.

If you have any questions feel free to shoot me an email.

These horribly misguided front-drive design studies nearly became the Mustang

Fri, 08 Nov 2013

As we eagerly await the unveiling of the all-new sixth-generation Mustang, Ford has been giving us some great information over the past few months showing what has gone into shaping its venerable pony car. As many changes as the Mustang has gone through in its 50 years, though, it appears the fourth-gen model played a decisive and pivotal role in the car's future.
As is part of Mustang lore, the front-wheel drive Ford Probe was originally developed as a next-generation Mustang in the Eighties before cooler heads prevailed. The Blue Oval has just released a handful of images showing how bad things could have been - including a full-scale clay model of a front-wheel-drive Mustang (shown above). Fortunately, the FWD Mustang plan was scrapped and Ford went to work designing a rear-wheel-drive replacement for the Fox Body Mustang, with three design studies making it far enough to become full-scale models. These include the soft "Bruce Jenner" Mustang, the over-the-top "Rambo" Mustang and the middle-ground "Arnold Schwarzenegger" Mustang, which finally became the basis for the 1994 'Stang.
By early 1991, the design language of the fourth-generation Mustang had been worked out, and the rest, they say, is history. Scroll down for the fascinating press release telling the story of the fourth-gen Mustang, and be sure to check out the gallery of horribly misguided sketches and various design studies that were all on the table in the late 1980s.

Ford Mondeo classes up with premium Vignale trim

Wed, 11 Sep 2013

Back in the day, Vignale was a carrozzeria of the highest order, alongside the likes of Pininfarina, Bertone and Zagato. But like Giugiaro-ItalDesign and Ghia, it has since been subsumed into a larger auto group. Ford ended up with it under its umbrella when it took over De Tomaso, and has since used the moniker for a number of concept cars. Now the name is back in the form of a new upscale sub-brand for the European market.
The first new model to receive the Vignale treatment is the Mondeo, which Ford unveiled here at the Frankfurt Motor Show in both sedan and wagon forms. Positioned above the Titanium trim, the Vignale model gets such special touches as chrome trim and a quilted leather interior, Vignale badges replacing any mention of the Mondeo on which it's based. It also gains an ownership experience - including free car washes for life! - to befit the upscale positioning.
Under the bright spotlights above the show floor, the Nocciola metallic brown paint might not be the most photogenic, but will likely give the Vignale edition a more premium look when it hits European dealers and roads in 2015. Whether it'll be worth however much Ford asks for it, however, remains to be seen. Scroll down below for the official press release.

Jay Leno is far beyond driven in his 1971 Pantera

Mon, 23 Jun 2014

Perhaps it's fitting that the band Pantera is known for its heavy metal music, because the DeTomaso Pantera is the automotive equivalent of a metal album. It's short, aggressive and makes a mean sound. It doesn't mess around either, with a Ford 351-cubic-inch (5.75-liter) V8 sending mountains of torque to the rear wheels. This week, Jay Leno takes us on a detailed tour of his '71 to show why it rocks.
There's a regular format to Jay Leno's Garage. It starts with Jay and maybe a guest taking a look at the car and talking about its history, and then they take it out on the open road. However, this video is practically a Pantera buyer's guide. Jay is adamant from the start that the last thing anyone should own is a stock example. To remedy this, he and his guest, the editor of the Pantera Club magazine, take viewers to school about some of the ways to turn them into even better performance machines.
No matter what you do to it, though, the Pantera requires that the driver adapt to it, not the other way around. For example, Jay isn't a big guy by most standards, but he has to cram himself into the cockpit with his shoes off and shirt partially unbuttoned just to go for a drive. Still, once out on the road, it all makes sense with that rumbling V8 and those Italian supercar looks. Scroll down to watch and learn a lot more about this uncompromising '70s performance car.
