Up for auction is this 1978 Ford F150 4X4.  I bought this to restore but just can't find the time.  I purchased several items for the project and they go with the truck.  Email me for the details. As far as the truck goes, it has a 5 Speed tranny out of an 85' Ford w/ granny low and O/D.  It has 3.50:1 Posi's front AND rear. Also has anti sway bars front and rear right from FORD.  Someone added override traction bars.  I have two seperate photo shoots.  The latest are the ones with the white topper (that does not go with the truck) and the 35 x 14.50 15 tires on 15 x 10 5 slot aluminum rims.  Not sure what it has for suspension lift but it does have a 3" body lift.  The seats and center console are out of a newer model.   Please look at the photos for vehicle description  and ask all questions before bidding. The pictures of the two 460's go with this truck.  The one in pieces is what came with the truck when I purchased it and the one on the stand I bought to install.  Have an almost new clutch for it and a flywheel that has just been resurfaced.  In fact, it is still at the machine shop.  I still need to pick it up.  I have a tail gate that is the same color as the truck also.  Well, there you have it.  I hope this truck will go to someone who has more time to restore it than I have.  It's too nice to just part out. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding. :)  Buyer responsible for shipping.  I will assist if needed.

Ford to pay $17.35 million over Escape recall

Thu, 01 Aug 2013

Ford had a bit of a recall spree around this time last year, with a pair of issues on the then-new 2013 Escape, followed by a recall of 423,000 2001 to 2004 Escapes because they might accelerate of their own accord. Accordingly, Uncle Sam pasted Ford with a $17.35 million fine because it took too long to inform customers, according to a report from Automotive News.
Ford agreed to settle with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, accepting the fine but not admitting fault. The recall, which afflicted Escapes with the 3.0-liter V-6 along with 217,000 Mazda Tributes from 2001 to 2006 and 2008, was due to faulty gas pedals that could stay down after a driver removed their foot.
Ford issued a statement regarding the fine, saying, "We take the safety of our customers seriously and continuously evaluate our processes for improvements. While we are confident in our current processes for quickly identifying and addressing potential vehicle issues, Ford agreed to this settlement to avoid a lengthy dispute with the government."

Ford previews new C-Max ahead of upcoming debut

Mon, 15 Sep 2014

Looking at a Ford Focus? These days you can get it as a five-door hatch, a four-door sedan, or... that's all. European buyers don't even get our sedan, but they do get a wagon. And while the three-door hatch, two-door coupe and two-door cabrio have long since ended production, buyers around the world can also get the company's larger C-Max. And now, like the Focus upon which it's based, Ford is preparing to roll out a new version.
The tall wagon (or small minivan, depending on your perspective) is being treated to what Ford says is "an extreme makeover." Details to accompany the teaser image above remain few and far between, but following the spy shots we recently posted, it looks destined for some of the same visual updates as Ford rolled out on the 2015 Focus, with "even more refinement, practicality and technology."
Like the Mercedes B-Class, which is only available Stateside as an EV, American buyers can only get the C-Max in electrified form, either as the C-Max Hybrid or C-Max Energi. Overseas buyers, however, will be able to choose from a range of powertrain options and two wheelbase lengths - the longer of which boasts seven seats and the Grand C-Max name. (Remember when Chrysler did the same with its minivans?) Both are set to debut on September 17, so watch this space. After that, we'll expect to see it on display at the Paris Motor Show.

Next-gen Ford Cobra Jet development underway, but will it be a Mustang?

Wed, 09 Oct 2013

Ford might be stepping away from the NHRA, but it isn't abandoning drag racing altogether. Hot Rod says that Ford confirmed a next-gen Cobra Jet factory drag racer is in the works, but the report also speculates that a new Cobra Jet could switch away from the Mustang nameplate.
Even though talk of a new Cobra Jet coincides with the all-new 2015 Mustang, the lack of confirmation for the dragster's platform leaves Hot Rod to guess that the car might switch to another platform - specifically a front-drive-based, unibody car like the Fusion or Taurus. We'd hate to think of a world with a NASCAR-ized dragster from Ford Racing, but it's also highly unlikely that the Mustang Cobra Jet would step away from its quarter-mile rivals like the Chevy COPO Camaro and Dodge Challenger Drag Pak.
