Bought this black beauty last year and have loved every minute of it. The Sony navigation system with voice activated SYNC is so easy to use, plus the sunroof and power rear sliding window bring a cool breeze. The EcoBoost turbocharged V6 is by far the most fun pickup I've ever driven, plus it gets great gas mileage! Black on Black leather is the only way to go, and with remote start and the heated and cooled front and passenger seat keep you comfortable even in the harshest weather. FX Luxury package, power pedals, remote start, back up sensors, and a back up camera. Never hooked it to a trailer but it has the built in trailer brake controler, upgraded FX4 20 inch wheels, and a bed extender. Added the Bak Flip G2 folding hard bed cover for a low profile and full access to the bed while staying water tight.

I'm letting it go for 25k.

Hot sales have Detroit automakers shortening summer shutdowns

Tue, 08 Jul 2014

Back in May, there was speculation that the Detroit Three automakers would maintain or perhaps even extend their traditional summer shutdowns, mostly due to a bitingly cold winter that saw below-freezing temperatures infiltrate the southernmost reaches of the US, putting a chill on auto sales. Now, though, the numbers are in, and thanks to some promising sales figures, it looks like some domestic line workers are going to be working clear through July, in some cases.
According to Automotive News, Ford has slashed its traditional two-week hiatus for factory workers in half at four of its plants, while both Chrysler and General Motors will keep factories running nonstop (two plants in Chrysler's case and a third of GM's factories).
This is, as we said, thanks to some positive numbers. Chief among those is the Seasonal Adjusted Annual Rate, which was at an eight-year high of 17 million units. Individual figures were less promising. GM, embroiled in its recall scandal, still saw a one-percent increase while Ford dropped six percent in year-over-year sales. Chrysler was the big winner, though, with a nine-percent jump in June.

How Ford secretly used customers to test its aluminum F-150 [w/video]

Fri, 30 May 2014

Automakers getting clever about disguising development vehicles isn't anything new. Between mules wearing the sheetmetal of other cars and prototypes decked out in as much camouflage as is practical, automakers know how to make it very difficult for the general public to get an exact idea of what kind of vehicle is in development. Ford, though, is rapidly becoming the master.
We knew that the Blue Oval originally tested the durability of the aluminum construction being used for the 2015 F-150 by building an all-aluminum 2014 truck and entering it in the Baja 1000 off-road race. That's no longer a secret. What we didn't know, though, is that the aluminum development dates back to before even that, and that some of the people in question had no idea what it was they were working with.
Ford says this is the first time prototypes have ever been handed over to the public.

Detroit 3 small cars lay an egg in latest Consumer Reports reliability study

Tue, 28 Oct 2014

Consumer Reports has released its Annual Auto Reliability Survey and the results are, in a word, interesting. While we already covered the score-damaging effects of infotainment systems, there's another big angle to the data that's getting some attention - the utterly dismal scores of the Detroit Three's small car offerings.
The turbocharged Dodge Dart and Chevrolet Cruze, as well as the Ford Fiesta were their respective brands' lowest-scoring models, a stat that's made worse by the fact that the American automakers finished 25th, 21st and 23rd, respectively.
That's not acceptable for The Detroit Free Press' auto critic, Mark Phelan, who has penned a scathing critique of the D3's small car reliability scores, arguing that GM, Ford and Chrysler are "out of excuses."
