1999 Ford F-250 Super Duty Xlt Standard Cab Pickup 2-door 7.3l on 2040-cars
Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, United States
This auction is for a 1999 Ford F-250 Super Duty XLT pick-up truck. It is powered by the 7.3 liter Power Stroke turbocharged diesel engine. The truck is two wheel drive with an eight foot bed and a two door regular cab. The bed has a spray-in bed liner that IS NOT a Rhino Liner. The truck starts, runs, and drives. New parts include two new batteries, fan belt, sway bar bushings, four shocks, four tires, power control module, door lock switches, radiator hose, power steering pump, brake booster, water separator valve, transmission filter, seven pin trailer plug, and wiper blades. The oil and filter have about 5,000 miles on them as does the antifreeze. The brakes and rotors have a descent amount left. The body is solid with no holes and minimal rust. The clear coat is coming off in some places on the bed and there is a dent in the front driver's side fender (painted black). The truck has a towing package with an aftermarket trailer brake controller that is not hooked up. The truck runs rough until it is at operating temperature and the transmission downshifts rough sometimes. Also, there is a bad door switch in one of the doors which causes it to say DOOR AJAR. The original tailgate is gone and was at some point replaced with an F-150 tailgate painted flat green. This truck is being sold "AS IS". It is being sold because I need four wheel drive. Thank-You Very Much!!! |

Ford Explorer, Expedition next to go aluminum?
Sun, 13 Apr 2014Ford made some serious waves when it unveiled the latest F-150. Instead of making its bodywork out of steel, like just about every other truck on the market, Ford went with aluminum. And you can bet the F-150 won't be the last Ford model to go with the lightweight alloy construction, either.
Our compatriots at Edmunds report that Dearborn is considering replacing two of its most popular SUVs with aluminum versions. One candidate is the Expedition, which would make sense considering that the current model (like the two preceding generations and the fullsize Bronco before it) is based on the F-150's underpinnings. Another is the Explorer, which was traditionally based on the Ranger pickup but went with a car-like unibody chassis in its current iteration. If the Explorer does go the way of aluminum, don't expect it to be a part of its very next update, which is likely due too soon for such major changes.
It would stand to reason that, if the Expedition were to go aluminum, so would the next-generation Lincoln Navigator. Ditto the MKT together with the Explorer. But those aren't likely to be the only models in contention for aluminum construction. Like any other automaker, Ford is under pressure to steadily reduce its carbon emissions and improve its fuel economy figures, prompting it to look at a whole range of measures - including more efficient engines, lower rolling-resistance tires, active aerodynamics and lightweight construction. Expect aluminum to play a big part in that equation moving forward.
Ford ditching Microsoft in favor of BlackBerry QNX for next-gen Sync?
Mon, 24 Feb 2014Ask the average consumer - at least, those who follow the goings-on in the automotive industry - which carmaker they'd most closely associate Microsoft, and the answer you'd most likely get would be Ford. The Blue Oval automaker, after all, was at the forefront of bringing Microsoft technology into cars with its pioneering Sync system, and, though reality didn't turn out as such, Ford's CEO was recently touted as a potential future head of the Redmond-based software giant. But that relationship, according to the latest reports, could be coming to an end.
Alan Mullaly kiboshed the idea of leaving Dearborn for Redmond, but more importantly Ford is tipped to be ditching Microsoft in developing its next-generation Sync system. In its place, Ford is expected to partner with BlackBerry's QNX division.
Now, before you go balking "BlackBerry?! But they're finished!" consider that QNX is (or at least was) an independent entity that Research In Motion (as BlackBerry's Ontario-based parent company was then known) just happened to have bought back in 2010. QNX provides control systems to everything from nuclear power plants and UAVs to automakers like Audi, BMW and Porsche.
Ford builds two-millionth EcoBoost engine
Tue, 17 Sep 2013Ford's EcoBoost engine lineup is only four years old, but it is growing into an important and popular global engine. As proof of its popularity, Ford just produced its 2 millionth EcoBoost engine - a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder - which rolled off the assembly line in Louisville, Kentucky under the hood of an Escape.
Ford now offers five EcoBoost engines around the world ranging from the 1.0-liter inline-three to the twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6, and the automaker is expanding production of two of its engine lines to keep up with demand. Earlier this year, Ford announced that the 2.0-liter EcoBoost would be built in Cleveland, Ohio starting in 2014 and, more recently, Ford said that it will be doubling production of the 1.0-liter EcoBoost in Germany. That turbo-three will also be produced in China at a new Ford engine plant in Chongqing.
Scroll down for Ford's full press release on this EcoBoost production milestone, including a breakdown of where all the engines were made.
