See the seller's listing for full details and description of any imperfections.Seller Notes:"Truck is in good used condition. Interior is clean but some stains on carpeting, needs good cleaning. and most will go away and or small blemishes exist in the seating and console areas. Truck has an oil leak from the turbo pedestal (I believe) which travels down the valley of the engine and needs to be corrected. Cost is estimated at 300, and I can have it corrected with the additional cost. Tires are going to need replacement but surely can carry you 1k+ miles home.Has the severe duty package on it which I believe consists of better heating elements for starts and a larger/better air filter assm. Its the package with the $100+ filter is the only difference I know! All buttons and gages work as expected. New starter in Jan. Has 2 keys and 1 Fob. Turbo boost is strong. No smoke. Front anchor for driver side running step is broken but have. Its cast aluminum so I have not repaired it. Cold Air. Has a later model 18inch rim currently with adapter plates. Price is as is, title in hand"

02 F-250 Super Duty Crew Cab 4x4. Automatic, smooth shifing. I have owned the truck for 5 years+. Truck is strong and ready to work. It is used however not abused. Small dents and dings, stains and small burns in seat and carpet (I smoke, yeah so shoot me!).

New Starter 11/12      New front hubs 3/11.

Tires are about 15% 10 ply Goodyear. Truck was fitted with 18inch factory ford, to replace the stock 16's with wheel offset adapters. Front wheels do rub wheel wells on tight turns, I've just dealt with it.  Have original rims I believe as well. Truck has a decent aluminum tool box. Truck is a work truck and I am a General Contractor. The dings and such are reflective of it. Has a $50 part which interupts the signal to something and helps with a bit more power. I usually leave it off, gets 18 mpg or so.

2/12 (approximate) Truck had tree branch fall on hood and left fender. Truck was completely repainted, new windshield and such. Tailgate was not painted at the time but matches fine. Bed is scratched and has a white latex paint spill in it with normal work use. Typical use has been general non-loaded local driving, hauling a Kubota mid size tractor, hauling of building materials and such.

Truck has an oil leak from the turbo pedestal (I believe, researched and a common issue) and needs to be corrected. Cost is estimated at 300, and I can have it corrected with the additional cost if needed.

Get in the truck and take off. Runs good, and ready for you to come get if your out of town. Have done what I can to describe the truck. Any questions please give ame a call at 731-445-7591 and I will get them answered for you. Good luck and Happy Bidding. I literally have 6 F250's and 2F150's, so pretty much a Ford man.

Nuclear-powered concept cars from the Atomic Age

Thu, 17 Jul 2014

In the 1950s and early 60s, the dawn of nuclear power was supposed to lead to a limitless consumer culture, a world of flying cars and autonomous kitchens all powered by clean energy. In Europe, it offered the then-limping continent a cheap, inexhaustible supply of power after years of rationing and infrastructure damage brought on by two World Wars.
The development of nuclear-powered submarines and ships during the 1940s and 50s led car designers to begin conceptualizing atomic vehicles. Fueled by a consistent reaction, these cars would theoretically produce no harmful byproducts and rarely need to refuel. Combining these vehicles with the new interstate system presented amazing potential for American mobility.
But the fantasy soon faded. There were just too many problems with the realities of nuclear power. For starters, the powerplant would be too small to attain a reaction unless the car contained weapons-grade atomic materials. Doing so would mean every fender-bender could result in a minor nuclear holocaust. Additionally, many of the designers assumed a lightweight shielding material or even forcefields would eventually be invented (they still haven't) to protect passengers from harmful radiation. Analyses of the atomic car concept at the time determined that a 50-ton lead barrier would be necessary to prevent exposure.

Ford Fiesta rally car warms up in Sweden

Tue, 18 Mar 2014

Rallycross is seeing a sudden surge in popularity with two series bringing the racing to the US and Europe. The Ford OMSE team is competing in both championships this season, and it saw no reason not to hold practice with a highly modified Fiesta in the snow of Northern Sweden. It brought together Andreas Bakkerud from the European-focused FIA World Rallycross Championship and Patrik Sandell from the North American-focused Global Rallycross series for some training and fun. They certainly appear to be enjoying themselves, too, with some lovely pirouettes in the powder.
If you're unfamiliar with rallycross, the discipline combines the best of rallying and circuit racing. Drivers (with no co-drivers) race rally cars over a circuit that generally mixes dirt and asphalt, and unlike traditional rallying, multiple cars compete side-by-side at once. Even better, it's often a very two-fisted form of motorsports with lots of car-to-car contact. Global Rallycross and World Rallycross will both kick off their seasons in May. With spring on the way, scroll down to watch the Fiesta kick up some of the last snow drifts of the year.

Leno drives Henry Ford II's all-original '52 Ferrari 212 Barchetta

Tue, 17 Jun 2014

The story of the relationship between Henry Ford II and Enzo Ferrari is absolutely fascinating. The two great men of the auto industry had what appeared to be a burgeoning friendship until Ferrari pulled out of a deal to sell his company to Ford in the '60s. The latest car featured in Jay Leno's Garage is a 1952 Ferrari 212 Barchetta that tells the very beginnings of that story.
This Prancing Horse was a gift to Ford from Enzo when the two companies were first thinking about merging, according to the curator of the Petersen Automotive Museum. Ferrari really wanted to show off its best so instead of the 212's normal V12, this car was fitted with the larger 2.7-liter unit from a Ferrari 225. The car has been almost unaltered since then. It still wears its original paint, and it's tires date back to 1954.
The great thing about the Petersen is that unlike a lot of auto museums, the people there actually drive the cars and keep them in working order. Once on the road with Leno behind the wheel, this Ferrari really sings. Unfortunately, he can't open it up too much because the 60-year-old tires really hold things back. Scroll down to watch this amazing piece of automotive history and learn it's possible effect on the styling of the original Ford Thunderbird.
