I am Selling a 2003 ford f250 xl,  5.4 engine, 8cyl, 152,233k.

The truck was running fine until yesterday.  I towed it to a local shop and they said it needs engine work.  I don't want to fix the truck and I decided to sell it for parts or possible repair.  It has a heavy duty transmission, good tires, ladder racks, push plates for plowing, tool box, and so on. I just decided I will buy a new truck and will no longer be needing this.  I wont invest into fixing the truck.  If interested I would suggest towing the truck, although it does drive and move, I wouldn't take a risk driving it.

I am not in  hurry to sell the truck the best offers gets it.  Lots of good parts, It does have the normal new england rust you would see in an f250 around the wheel well, fender and bed..  I had this truck working for roofing work, always very strong.  If you are a mechanic or know about cars maybe it would be a good fit for you.  I am selling the truck as/is, where is, for parts.  Please any questions just email me, I will respond fairly quick since all emails go to my phone.

Best Offer gets it.  Shoot me an email.   Clear title in hand.

I am listing it locally so I have the right to end auction at any time.

PLEASE I AM LISTING THE TRUCK AS-IS NO WARRANTIES.  I DONT KNOW WHAT IT NEEDS FOR REPAIR, IT COULD VERY WELL BE THAT IT NEEDS A NEW ENGINE.  WHEN IT TURNS ON THE ENGINE MAKES A KNOCKING NOISE.  NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON.  BUT CHECK GAGE LIGHT COMES ON AT TIMES.

BUYER RESPONSIBLE FOR SHIPPING, I WOULD PREFER CASH IN HAND AND SMALL DEPOSIT VIA PAYPAL, DEPOSIT WILL NOT BE REFUNDED, EXPECT THE DEPOSIT WITHIN 24 HOURS.

I AM HOPING FOR A SMOOTH TRANSACTION THE HIGHEST BIDDER TAKES IT.

Thanks for Looking

Watch these videos of an NHRA racer's bodywork blowing off into a crowd

Tue, 23 Apr 2013

Just a few months ago, fan safety at racetracks was a hot topic following the last-lap NASCAR Nationwide Series crash at Daytona that sent large pieces of racecars into the grandstands injuring 33 fans. Now, a freak incident at a National Hot Rod Association event resulted in a drag racer's bodywork flying into the crowd at the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals in Charlotte over the weekend. The carbon-fiber body of Robert Hight's Ford Mustang funny car blew off toward the end of a run when his engine exploded, but fortunately, the two fans evaluated after the incident were later released without serious injury.
As you can see in the image above, the body flew high into the air before landing on a walkway in front of the grandstands, a bit of happenstance that likely gave most fans enough time and space to move out of the way. Scroll down to watch a couple of videos showing what happened, including one from a fan's perspective that also reveals what appears to be part of the body's metal bracing landing dangerously close to the crowd.

Ford reveals concept trucks that ultimately became Atlas

Wed, 03 Apr 2013

The Ford Atlas Concept was one of the quiet success stories of the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, and now Ford has given us a quick glimpse as to how that creation came to be. Designers actually combined two early sketches to build the Atlas. One, called the Bullet Train, is a futuristic, aerodynamic creation, while the other, aptly named the Locomotive, features the squared off proportions we're familiar with.
Once designers settled on the truck's proportions, they began nailing down exactly which attributes they wanted the final design to have. The Concept's notched windshield originated as a forked glass roof that seamlessly transitioned into the windscreen.
Likewise, designers wanted to fit the truck's tailgate with a storage compartment for tools and a first aid kit, but settled on the dual-purpose step/cargo cradle. Interestingly enough, the concept's active aero shutter wheels actually originated in some of the earliest sketches. Check out the photos and slides here for a closer look.

J Mays on the 2015 Ford Mustang

Thu, 05 Dec 2013

J Mays, head of design at Ford, may be retiring from the company after 16 years, but not before showing the world his swan song: the 2015 Mustang. Ford officially revealed its new coupe and convertible to the public at events around the world on Thursday, including a live unveiling on ABC's Good Morning America, and Mays was in attendance at the automaker's home event in Dearborn, MI, which is where we caught up with him for a few words about his new baby.
"It's a joy" to design the Mustang, Mays told Autoblog, adding that this sixth-generation coupe is his "favorite design so far." Of course, the 2015 model takes cues from all of the generations that came before it, but Mays said it was important to edit down the specific elements from previous models, leaving just enough off to let the customer "participate and fill in the blanks."
"If it doesn't sell itself, you probably aren't a Mustang fan."
