Selling my 1995 Ford F-350 Crew Cab 4x4. I just don't need a truck this large anymore and I only drive it about 1 time per week to work so I'm selling it. This is a good truck with a lot of life left in it. It is not a perfect condition truck - has been used as a truck for almost 20 years but I still think it looks pretty good. Has dents and scratches that I will describe below as you would expect on a truck of this age. It would make a great farm or work truck for someone.

This truck has the 7.3 Powestroke engine and a manual transmission. These engines go for a long time.  I had all the injector seals done last year and one of the injectors was replaced at that time. It still runs strong.

The exterior is in fair condition. The front bumper sags on one side (like many of these trucks!). The driver's door has some dents at the edge where someone tried to pry open the door when the previous owner had it (makes it look like the door sags a little - I replaced on of the hinge pins which helped some). The bed has a lot of scratches/dents but does have a brush on bedliner (Herculiner). The rear bumper is a nice Pipe bumper and is in good shape. There is a small dent in the rear passenger door. The windshield has several cracks on the passenger side (I don't notice them when driving). I think the truck looks good but if you get up close, it is not a new truck - the paint is in OK shape (shines up pretty well when it's washed).

It has a B&W turnover ball hitch in the bed and has a brake controller for towing. It has a plug in for a 7 pin RV type trailer wiring. The tailgate that was on the truck when I bought it was in very poor condition. I replaced it with a black fifth wheel type tailgate.

The interior is also in fair condition. The headliner is falling (although at times it looks fine - depends on the temperature). There are stains in the carpet from the previous owner. Couple of cracks in the dash.

The power door lock on the rear passenger door does not work. I think the power window on that door is also going out (it did as of this week when I tried it - the rear driver's side also wasn't working when I tried it this week). The front doors/windows work fine. The heater/defroster hasn't worked since I have had the truck but since I am in Texas - it wasn't an issue. The AC cooled last year (after I had it worked on) but doesn't seem to cool this year - may just need freon again but not sure.

It does have 4 nearly new tires (about 7000 miles on them). Also had the 4x4 locking hubs replaced with maual locking hubs. It had new batteries put in last spring also.

This would be a good work truck. I just don't drive it much (maybe once a week to work) and really don't need a truck this large. I don't know of any mechanical issues with the engine - seems to run strong and these engines last a long time. The KBB value lists it at $7000 for this truck in fair condition.

Send me a message if you have any questions or would like to see more pictures.

Not interested in any trades. It is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells locally.

Thanks for looking

BMW to follow Honda back into F1?

Mon, 14 Apr 2014

The economic downturn wrought devastating effects on motor racing. Formula One alone lost half its engine suppliers when Honda left at the end of the 2008 season, and both BMW and Toyota followed at the end of 2009. But things are looking up again. Cosworth may have dropped out this season, reducing the engine suppliers to three: Ferrari, Renault and Mercedes, the latter of which admits that it may have left had the engine formula not changed. But Mercedes has stayed and is dominating the championship. Honda is coming back next season. And word around the paddock is it may not be the only one.
According to Giancarlo Minardi - founder of the team now known as Scuderia Toro Rosso - BMW engineers have been conspicuously spotted lately at F1 test sessions and grands prix, lending to speculation that the new engine regulations may entice the Bavarian automaker back into the series. According to Minardi, BMW's marketing division is pushing for the automaker's return to F1, with the board slated to make a decision in May. BMW would be more likely to consider an engine-supply deal rather than taking a team over like it had with Sauber, but with which team or teams it might collaborate remains a big question mark at this point.
As if that's not enough, Ford is said to be considering taking over Cosworth's aborted V6 turbo engine program to take both outfits back into the sport as well. Cosworth supplied F1 engines under the Ford banner for years, but returned under its own name for four seasons from 2010 through 2013 before shuttering its program to develop an engine to meet the new regulations adopted this season.

This Or That: Fiat 500 Abarth vs. Ford Fiesta ST [w/poll]

They're pretty darn similar. And yet our views are oh so different.
If you guys could read the transcripts of our editors' chat room, you'd know that we're a pretty argumentative bunch. It's always good-spirited stuff (well, usually), but when we're not obsessively covering this or that, we're usually fighting about one car being better than another. We're all enthusiasts here, and our automotive tastes run the gamut from the weird and unusual to the decidedly mainstream - we all feel strongly about specific cars in a given segment. While it usually makes for good conversation, if we're passionate enough, it can turn into a tomato-throwing showdown.

Ford partnering with MIT, Stanford on autonomous vehicle research

Fri, 24 Jan 2014

Ask any car engineer what's the biggest variable in achieving fuel economy targets, and he'll tell you "the driver." If one human can't understand human driving behavior enough to be certain about an innocuous number like miles per gallon, how is an autonomous car supposed to figure out what hundreds of other drivers are going to do in the course of a day? Ford has enlisted the help of Stanford and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to find out.
Starting with the automated Fusion Hybrid introduced in December, MIT will be developing algorithms that driverless cars can use to "predict actions of other vehicles and pedestrians" and objects within the three-dimensional map provided by its four LIDAR sensors.
The Stanford team will research how to extend the 'vision' of that LIDAR array beyond obstructions while driving, analogous to the way a driver uses the entire width of a lane to see what's ahead of a larger vehicle in front. Ford says it wants to "provide the vehicle with common sense" as part of its Blueprint for Mobility, preparing for an autonomous world from 2025 and beyond.
