2008 Ford F450 Super Duty 6.4 Liter Flatbed on 2040-cars

US $17,650.00
Year:2008 Mileage:143777
Location:

Issaquah, Washington, United States

Issaquah, Washington, United States

Vehicle is sold "As-Is-Where-Is"   However I am open to negotiation about delivery to locations on the US west coast.  Vehicle is located in zip code area 98027 near Seattle, WA.

According to specs supplied by Ford:  This truck is a bull with 6.4 liter 32 valve diesel engine with 650 ft lbs of torque and 300HP. It's a 4X2 with an automatic 5 speed + overdrive transmission with only +143,000 well serviced miles.

The truck is a pleasure to drive has plenty of power and quite tight turning radius less than 30 feet to hang a U-eee. Air con works great as does cruise control. Pretty good sounding stereo though it's a stock unit I would have replaced.
It's equipped with powerful ABS air disc brakes front and rear and the engine has been checked by a professional diesel engine mechanic and cleared as tight and sound.

Has 2 hook ups for high and low trailer hitches and Pollak? 7 pin round socket for trailer lights (and I have the matching plug which is hard to find). Also, I believe it has a socket for air brake connection to trailers (NO PROMISE HERE - and if I am NOT correct, I won't be beat up about this point please...)

Tires are Goodyear 225/70R 19.5" retreads with less than 60% life.

The flatbed is 77" wide and needs "wings" of about 9" on either side (which in my vision would be the hinged and opening tops of tool boxes and equipment storage (flush with the existing bed). The bed wood is sturdy, but I needs replacing.  Space immediately behind the cab is for air compressor, generator and/or welding equipment. Tool box behind this empty space.  All this can be removed and a new bed easily installed to purpose the vehicle to meet your needs.

The glass is good all around and the body has a few nicks and scratches -- but no major damage, just normal wear and tear. There is an 2" -- 3" indentation in the front bumper on the driver's side (which you can see in the first picture.

Note that the hoist, though temporarily mounted in its odd position is not for sale and it's been placed there in order to rebuild it.

Ford paying $750 million just to close plant in Belgium

Thu, 21 Mar 2013

According to a report from Reuters, Ford is shelling out $750 million in a severance deal that will see the automaker close its facility in Genk, Belgium. The automaker reached this deal with the 4,000 hourly workers employed at the plant last week, which means the company will pay out an average of $187,500 per worker.
Ford is still negotiating with the 300 salaried workers at the factory, which currently produces the Mondeo sedan. All told, Ford expects to lose around $2 billion in Europe thanks in no small part to the region's ongoing economic downturn, and two more plants are scheduled to be shut down in Europe this year. The company will log its $750 million payout under "special items" for this quarter.
As you may recall, Ford took a similar path in the US back in 2009 when the domestic market took a spill. Back then, the company shelled out around $50,000 per employee with at least one year of experience, plus either $25,000 toward a new car or an extra cash payment of $20,000. It would seem the cost of closing plants in Belgium is a much harder pill to swallow than in the States...

2015 Ford Mustang fuel economy ratings leaked

Thu, 21 Aug 2014

Thinking about buying a new Mustang, but want to know what kind of fuel economy it'll get? Well we have our first indication as the pony-car enthusiasts over at Mustang6G.com have gotten a hold of the Monroney window stickers for a few of the new 2015 Mustang models.
Although the V8 model is not among them, we can now see how the EPA has rated those models with a half dozen pistons or less. The Mustang EcoBoost with the turbo four and a manual transmission has been rated at 22 miles per gallon in the city and 31 on the highway. The V6 manual gets 17 city and 28 highway, while the V6 automatic squeezes out a bit more in the city at 19 mpg but carries the same 28 highway rating.
By way of comparison, the latest Chevy Camaro with the V6 and a stick shift gets the same 17/28 EPA rating as a similarly equipped new 'Stang, and the V6 automatic Camaro gets 18/27 (slightly behind the Ford, but if you opt for the Camaro 2LS with its V6, automatic and 2.92 rear axle ratio, you'll be looking at 19 and 30).

Lincoln 'not true luxury' yet, says Ford design chief

Wed, 28 Aug 2013

Lincoln is "not true luxury," according to Ford's design boss, J Mays. His statements come from a story in The Detroit News that saw candid language on the issues facing Ford's troubled premium brand. Notably, there's a need for a strong character, with Mays saying, "Every brand needs to have a DNA and a unique selling point and things in the vehicle that make you think, 'That's that particular brand.'"
With a range of rebadged Fords, it's not hard to see why that DNA is missing. Mays hinted that a full recovery for Lincoln will be a ten-year process, that's been kicked off with the MKZ sedan. While that car is still largely a Ford Fusion under its extremely pretty wrapper, it's the first Lincoln in some time to inject its own unique take both through the exterior styling and through interior features, such as the vertical, pushbutton gear selection.
Some analysts weren't so certain about Mays' 10-year estimate. Jim Hall of 2953 Analytics thinks it'll be more like 30 years before Lincoln can show a true return to form. The issue, as Hall explains it, is that, "luxury has a degree of exclusivity," that Lincoln just doesn't have. Michelle Krebs from Edmunds adds, "it's definitely a wanna-be luxury brand," comparing the troubled American brand with Infiniti and Acura, two other brands that have struggled to find their place in the luxury market.
