1965 Ford Fairlane 500 4.7l on 2040-cars
Byrdstown, Tennessee, United States
This is a 1965 Ford Fairlane 500 with a 289 engine. I have replaced the fuel pump on the motor and I have bought an new water pump to go on it but have not installed it. The water pump is leaking near the front where the fan bolts on. The car will start and run but the carb either needs rebuilt or replaced. It has a holley carb on it. I have a clear title for the car.It could be easily fixed up for a daily driver. I drove it to town and the carb started flooding out real bad so I parked it. It does have some rust in the trunk and around the battery carrier. Some of the floor plans have been patched. The heater does not work. I am telling about the things I know is wrong with the car. All in all its a great project car. The car has been painted by the previous owner they had started to remodel it and didn't finish it. I have listed several pictures of the car if you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

Vaughn Gittin Jr. takes his dog for a drift
Tue, 09 Sep 2014
Vaughn Gittin Jr. spends a great deal of his workday going sideways, but he's usually alone in the endeavor. For a guy that is clearly a dog lover, we imagine that can get a bit lonely.
That won't be a problem for Gittin in this latest video, which features the racer hanging out with his good pal Brody (a dog) and everyone's favorite hot hatch, the Ford Fiesta ST.
Last 2014 Ford Shelby GT500 Convertible nets $500k for charity at Barrett-Jackson [w/video]
Tue, 13 Aug 2013The last 2014 Ford Shelby GT500 Convertible was sold on Saturday at a Barrett-Jackson auction in Reno, Nevada, for $500,000. Ford donated the Mustang to be auctioned for charity, and all of the money is going to the Brain Injury Association of America.
Parnelli Jones, winner of the 1963 Indianapolis 500, was there on behalf of the BIAA with his son Page, who suffered a brain injury in a sprint car crash in 1994. The bidding increased quickly, reaching $500k in no time, spreading a bit more hope to people who live with brain injuries.
The winning bidder will be able to choose the GT500's exterior, interior and stripe colors, and is scheduled to receive the car, signed by Parnelli Jones in appreciation for the donation, by the end of 2013. Watch the video below to see the auction-block action.
Toyota fears supplier pressure in Australia with GM pull out
Wed, 11 Dec 2013With Ford and General Motors both announcing an end to production in Australia, the country's auto industry is in a bad way. With the exit of two big players, there's increased concern that a third Australian manufacturer, Toyota, will be forced out, as well.
"We are saddened to learn of GM Holden's decision. This will place unprecedented pressure on the local supplier network and our ability to build cars in Australia," Toyota Australia said in a statement. The GM closure of Holden production will be the direct end to 2,900 jobs, but will also force a dramatic reduction in the size of the country's supplier network, as there will simply be fewer cars to build.
In the same statement, Toyota Australia said it would work with suppliers and local government to figure out whether continuing production Down Under was even feasible. According to Automotive News, a representative for the Australian Manufacturing Workers' Union told reporters it was "highly likely" that Toyota would also close up shop within the next few years.
