I am just the Seller of this 1966 Ford Fairlane 500,2 Door Hardtop Coupe, with only 95,492 Original Miles! And it was garaged its whole life!My Mother-In-Law inherited it from the passing of her Husband recently. And the Original Owner left it to her only son,my Mother-In-Laws Husband, which licensed  it in 2008 and only drove it a couple times, and had 4 new radials put on it,and it was last run only about a year ago,and surely would start and run fine,as it is with a jump or a battery and some gas.And I was told the Original Owner, purchased the Car in Denver,CO in her 50's,after her Husband passed away, and she only drove it to Church and the Stores. And I was told it never left Denver until it was drove to Trinidad,CO,when she moved in with her Son,due to her age, before her passing. But very recently the Son of the Original Owner passed also and now my Mother-In-Law is offering this Great Car up for auction through me,and it is not listed anywhere else, solely on eBay only,so look hard Rare Find!I'm located in Nebraska, but the Car is stored inside in Trinidad,Colorado,at her home(still inside!)And from from what I was told the Original Owner drove it until the late 1980's,and she drove it into her 70's,and at that point the plastic seat covers were still on the seats, which her son removed.I call it a one owner, because the Son who inherited it,started it up put new tires on it,drove it a few times and put it inside, and not very long after that he passed away and now his Wife inherited it,my Mother-In-Law,so the last name on the title hasn't changed since 1966,so no one really drove the Car,but the Original Owner. This 1966 Ford Fairlane came with the 289 Cubic Inch V-8,Automatic Transmission,Power Steering and AM Radio, which I listed Power Steering because you can see the pump in on of the engine bay pictures.Note all these pictures were taken in a dirt floor and everything looks dusty, and all I did was wipe the dust off the outside of the car so the White Paint didn't look to bad,so the interior didn't get wiped and cleaned and the floors didn't get vacuumed. And the interior looks unbelievable like it is,and if it was cleaned and wiped down with Amour-All it would look very nice! There is no rips or tears in the Seats,Front And Rear that I could see,and no rips or tears or holes in the Headliner, all I could find is one small crack in the Dash next to the Dash Speaker, coming off one corner, sorry I didn't get a picture of it,but surely it could be repaired, very small. And the spots on the rear seats picture are from the flash from my camera(there is no spots, just flaw in my picture)All in all it looks remarkable! And only has has minor rust around rear wheel openings, and a couple scrapes and scratches, and a couple minor dings on drivers side rear quarter by the taillight, very strait Car,and it has one dented hubcap, which I just happen to have one in my Car Stuff(a good one)which I will send to my Mother-In-Law for the new owner at no extra cost.If I could afford it I would buy it,but I already have enough cars anyway! It is missing one rear wheel trim piece, and the other one is loose, and it has one rear bumper Grandma dent(tried to show all in pictures). It is in its Original White Paint with a Red Interior.I didn't look for the VIN on the engine, because I know it has all its original drive train! This is a totally untouched 1966 ford Fairlane 500,never rebuilt, never repainted or restored, stone stock original.Don't miss this one,you don't find cars like this never,at least not to my knowledge.I am seriously a Real Car Guy,and this is a Real Beauty, not tampered with,Great One to Restore! There will be a $500.00 deposit due within 48 hours of the end of the auction through Paypal, and the remaining balance in Cash to the Owner upon pick up of the Car in Trinidad,Colorado, which you will have 7 days after the auction to pick up the Car.And you can make arrangements through me and my Mother-In-Law,after auction, winning bidder will get my phone number and my Mother-In-Laws when needed for pick up of the Car.If there is any taxes due after the sale of this Car,should be the responsibility of the buyer,I am not responsible for any sales taxes,I'm just the Seller. It the description seems real long,it is because I was trying to give any bidders all the history I received from my family, and I tried to explain everything to the best of my knowledge. But don't miss your chance at this one, untouched by any amateur restorer! But Car has to be sold AS IS,with no warranty. Please ask questions if you have any, before auctions end.

New car market raining on convertibles' parade

Mon, 08 Jul 2013

Whether fitted with soft or hard folding lids, today's droptops are better than ever for year-round motoring. Advancements in power top mechanisms, sealing, aerodynamics, structural rigidity, rollover safety and creature comforts like heated and cooled seats mean that modern convertibles are more versatile and better to drive than ever before. Yet the segment's sales took a dive during the recession and haven't come back, Automotive News reports.
Part of that is because automakers are looking at today's more sensible buyers and simply not developing as many new models, and that lack of fresh iron is curbing sales. AN cites R.L. Polk data which notes that only about one percent of new vehicles registered in the US last year had tops that folded. Back in 2009, it was 1.4 percent, and it was 2 percent in 2006. All-in, some 151,636 convertibles were registered in 2012. That's more units more than were registered in each of the past three years, but the market has also grown as the economy has picked up speed, and as a percentage of new vehicles purchased, convertible sales are lagging.
Thus far in 2013, the Ford Mustang is America's top-selling convertible, with 6,421 units registered through the end of April, followed by its rival, the Chevrolet Camaro, at 4,751 units. The Volkswagen Beetle isn't far behind, with 4,305, but from that point, it's a steep drop off to the fourth-place Mercedes-Benz SL-Class and its 2,380 sales.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

Ford Australia reveals updated Territory, Falcon via Twitter

Mon, 28 Jul 2014

Ford may have tied together much of its global lineup under the One Ford campaign, but one market where it still offers unique products is Australia. That will soon draw to a close as well, but before it does, the Blue Oval's Aussie operations are rolling out refreshed versions of its two unique products. For the moment, Ford isn't revealing much in the way of powertrain details, but it has shown off a couple of snaps of the revised products on its in-market Twitter feed.
First up is the new Territory. The SUV is neither based on a front-drive crossover platform nor on a truck frame, but shares its rear-drive underpinnings with the Falcon, taking it a step beyond the Falcon wagon alongside which it sits in Ford's Aussie range. Like the outgoing third-generation SZ Territory, the facelifted version is dominated by a narrow grille and larger front air dam, but further punctuates its big-chinned look with more rugged lower cladding and other metallic inserts that bring its look up to date.
And there's the Falcon, which Ford revealed in XR8 trim just last week and is now presenting in G6E spec. If the XR8 is the performance model, the G6E is the luxury version, swapping in more refined trim like a chrome-slat grille (instead of a black honeycomb), chrome foglamp surrounds, less-aggressive multi-spoke wheels (instead of five-spokes) and a flatter hood (instead of a power bulge). Otherwise, it looks essentially the same as the one we saw last week, its facelift bringing it more in line with the smaller, front-drive Mondeo (which we know here as the Fusion) and other members of the Ford family.
