Complete Rolling Chassis And Engine/transmission/axle To Make "thunderbolt" on 2040-cars
Pickerington, Ohio, United States
Originally a 260 V-8 car. Missing engine and transmission. Rust in the hood edge, front floors and behind each wheel. Solid subframes. Good glass and all trim is intact. Bumpers are rusted. Wheels and tires are junk. I wanted to make a car similar to a Thunderbolt. Sale includes a partially disassembled standard bore 390 ci engine (C6ME-A)that came from a running car. C7AE heads. No intake or exhaust manifolds. Rebuilt truck C6 transmission (would need 2-piece driveshaft). Front disk brake conversion kit. Two racing seats with sliders. New chrome oil pan. Used Moroso electric water pump drive. Used fuel cell. New fiberglas teardrop hoodscoop. Engine gasket set. Rebuilt adjustable rockers and shafts. Battery box and trunk mount cable kit. Dual inlet air cleaner kit (NOT A THUNDERBOLT AIRBOX!). Open 9 inch rear axle out of a Galaxie (would have to be narrowed). Driveshaft loop kit. Used 10.5" slicks. Clean Ohio title. THIS IS NOT A RUNNING CAR. IT IS IN PIECES.

Ford C-Max spied with fresh updates
Fri, 05 Sep 2014The Ford C-Max hatchback looks to be getting a few cosmetic updates, as evidenced in this latest set of spy photos. Like the smaller Focus, which also received a nip/tuck for the 2015 model year, the C-Max appears to be getting a revised front fascia with slimmer headlamps and a more, shall we say, Aston Martin-like grille. Around back, there looks to be a new bumper with redesigned taillamps, as well.
In other markets, the C-Max people-mover is available with a range of powertrains, but here in the US, it exists either as a traditional gas-electric or plug-in hybrid. The C-Max's fuel economy has been a particular topic of interest lately, with its official fuel economy ratings having been lowered twice since the vehicle's launch. Sales initially suffered a bit following this fiasco, though numbers have since leveled out. It's unclear if Ford is working on any powertrain tweaks for the updated C-Max seen here, however.
Ford has likely spruced up the hatch's interior, as well, though we don't have photos of that at this time. Mum's the word on when we'll see the new C-Max, but our best guess is that it'll arrive sometime in the next year.
Evo grabs Ford's Fiesta R5 rally car by the scruff
Wed, 04 Sep 2013Evo and host Henry Catchpole were thinking of excuses reasons to borrow the bonkers Ford Fiesta R5 rally car for a day or two, when it struck them: the car is street legal. With access to the R5, some of the world's most beautiful driving roads in the English Lake Country nearby, and a handy video crewing hanging around, the plan seemed to write itself.
Based on the resulting video, it was a good plan. Without spoiling the video for you - something we can't really do in text as the best part is listening to the rally car run - Catchpole finds the Fiesta to be sublimely quick and massively satisfying. Even taking the car for a spin on a pseudo rally stage, after leaving the English countryside, does nothing but add to his assessment of the beastly little Ford. Curtain officially comes down on Mercury as dealers remove signage
Mon, 03 Jan 2011The process of shutting down the Mercury is complete. Ford officially made the decision to close its mid-level brand in June of 2010. In the months that followed, Ford offered its dealers money to stop selling the cars, with production shutting down in September. The last Mercury, a Mariner, rolled off the assembly line in the beginning of October and former spokesperson Jill Wagner said her good-byes to both the car and her job. Now the last piece of the brand has come down as dealers are removing any and all Mercury signage from their lots.
