Fairmont Box Top Zephyr Mustang Fox Body. on 2040-cars
North Branch, Minnesota, United States
Up for auction is a very clean 1981 Ford Fairmont Box Top. I recently bought this on an impulse as I had Fairmonts in the past, and have been looking for another for quite some time, but have too many cars already. Its a 2.3, 4 speed car, newer clutch, and recent tune up. Tires, and glass are good, interior is complete, but could use a cleaning. I have only put a few miles on it, but it starts, runs, drives, and stops good (typical valve seal "puff" of smoke on start up, but doesn't seem to use any oil) This is a very basic no frills car, no power options except for power brakes, and even was a radio delete car. No rust that I could find other than some minor surface rust from paint chips, even the underside is clean. It has been a Mn car since new, owned by the same family until I bought it, and has never seen a winter. Same Fox platform as Mustangs, so many parts interchange. If you're local, and want to see the car in person, send a message, and we can make arrangements. The aftermarket tach in the pics is no longer on the car, and not included. The pics show the sill trim off the car, it is there, and back on the car, just removed it to check the inner rockers (very nice).

Curtain officially comes down on Mercury as dealers remove signage
Mon, 03 Jan 2011The process of shutting down the Mercury is complete. Ford officially made the decision to close its mid-level brand in June of 2010. In the months that followed, Ford offered its dealers money to stop selling the cars, with production shutting down in September. The last Mercury, a Mariner, rolled off the assembly line in the beginning of October and former spokesperson Jill Wagner said her good-byes to both the car and her job. Now the last piece of the brand has come down as dealers are removing any and all Mercury signage from their lots.

The history and future of the Ford Bronco
Tue, 17 Jun 2014
Some have suggested that the Bronco's demise was hastened by the fallout from the O.J. trial.
Twenty years ago today, ex-NFL linebacker Al "A.C." Cowlings drove his friend and onetime running back Orenthal James "O.J." Simpson on a parade lap of the Los Angeles highway system and onto an ignoble page of the history books. If you're in your late 20s or older, or a fastidious young student of 1990s American history, you're absolutely aware that Al and O.J.'s steed for the 'chase' was a white Ford Bronco. The white Ford Bronco, even.
Drive Ford's new Mustang in Need For Speed Rivals
Mon, 16 Dec 2013If waiting for the all-new 2015 Ford Mustang to hit dealerships is just too tall of an order, you'll be happy to hear that there is now an alternative means of getting behind the wheel of America's favorite pony car. The Mustang is making its video game debut in Need For Speed Rivals.
"We worked closely with the development team at EA to provide them with engineering data for the new Mustang, several months before we showed it to the rest of the world," said Ford product licensing manager Mark Bentley. "Computer design models enabled the game developers to create an accurate representation of the new Mustang before it goes on sale."
Players will have access to five unique designs for the Mustang, allowing a degree of individuality beyond solid colors and decals. According to Digital Marketing Manager Andrea Zuehlk of Ford, those designs are drawn from the four most popular designs on the Mustang Customizer, an online, mobile and tablet app that allows the public to design their own custom Mustang. A fifth design, penned by drift racer Vaughn Gittin, Jr., is also available.
