1960 Ford Falcon

  • Clean well maintained car
  • Complete frame-off restoration in 2005
  • 200CI straight 6 (30K since 2005 rebuild)
  • 3 on the tree (transmission shifts well, but linkage is sloppy, could use adjusting)
  • Drives nice and looks great

    Some Small Issues needing attention:

  • Radio stopped working
  • Some paint chips
  • A few bubbles in the paint
  • Missing 1 interior door handle
  • Door latched could be adjusted (have to close the front doors hard)

Great car with lots of life left in it. It could just used some touch-ups here and there. Over 10K in receipts from restoration. I got this car as a trade for a diesel truck thinking it was worth more than it is. I'm into old Internationals, and just not that into old cars. I'm letting it go for a great price so someone who can truely appreciate it will have it.

How the Ford Shelby Mustang came to be

    Fri, 20 Sep 2013

Even as rumors swirl that the next-generation of high-performance Ford Mustang will drop the Shelby name, Ford has released a short video telling how the legend of the Shelby Mustang came to be. In its latest installment of its video series entitled Mustang Countdown, Ford dug up some footage from Carroll Shelby to give a little insight into how this automotive icon was created.
While it's definitely interesting to hear the late legend tell the story in his own words (including numerous references to the 1964 Mustang as a "secretary's car"), it's also pretty funny learning exactly how the Shelby GT350 got its name in the first place - a name allegedly making a comeback as the replacement for the current Shelby GT500. As development work continues on the 2015 Ford Mustang, the Shelby video posted below shows that the automaker is always looking at its past - even as it looks ahead to the future.

eBay Find of the Day: 1970 Ford Torino King Cobra prototype

    Wed, 08 May 2013

Over the last decade or so, competition in NASCAR has led to some pretty funky looking racecars. And when the sport was still up and coming, the tight competition actually led to some interesting production cars. The Dodge Charger Daytona and Plymouth Superbird are perhaps the most well-known cars of the sport's "aero wars" era but the Ford Torino King Cobra might have been the most memorable of all, if not for some different homologation rules established in 1970. The Torino King Cobra never made it to production and never competed in NASCAR, but three examples exist including this one now for sale on eBay.
Designed as a successor for the aero-tuned Torino Talladega, the Torino King Cobra has a sleeker front end with hidden headlights and a sloped nose. As the story goes, NASCAR made a rule change in 1970 requiring 3,000 of the vehicles to be produced, which was substantially more than the 500 units required by the previous rule. One of the three prototypes ever built - and the only one built with the Boss 429 engine - is now for sale on eBay with a starting bid of $500,000. With a little more than three days left on the auction there are still no bids, but in the grand scheme of things this seems like a relatively fair price for a rare piece of automobile and racing history.
