RESTORATION STARTED ABOUT 4YRS AGO WITH COMPLETE NEW SUSPENSION AND COMPLETE NEW BRAKE SYSTEM. WE ARE RETIRED AND I RESTORED THIS FOR MY WIFE . WE HAVE HEALTH ISSUES AND THE CAR SETS MORE THAN ITS DRIVEN. THIS HAS A COMPLETELY NEW INTERIOR AND ALSO BEEN REPAINTED INSIDE AND OUT TO A MATCHING PAINT CODE. THE OUTSIDE PAINT IS 2YRS OLD. NEW TIRES. ALL NEW GLASS,HEADLINER AND DOOR SEALS. NEW STEREO .THIS CAR WAS GOING TO BE A KEEPER. THIS CAR IS A TROPHY WINNER AT CAR SHOWS. THIS FORD HAS NO OIL LEAKS EITHER. It appears that the chatter about Ford CEO Alan Mulally possibly leaving early to take over as CEO of Microsoft is losing air pretty fast. What's pretty interesting is that it got any traction in the first place.
Ford wins second consecutive International Van of the Year award with Transit Connect
Wed, 18 Sep 2013The redesigned 2014 Ford Transit Connect isn't even on sale yet, but it's already making its presence felt around the world. At a commercial vehicle expo in Russia, the Transit Connect was named the International Van of the Year.
Ford's small work van edged out the new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter by just seven points to allow Ford to grab this honor for the second consecutive year, which it won last year with the Transit Custom. Not only does this make Ford the first to ever win the award in back-to-back years, but it's also the fifth time the automaker has won this award since 2003 (two with the Transit Connect, two with the fullsize Transit and once with the Transit Custom). Ford congratulates itself for the accomplishment in a press release posted below.
This 2,000-hp Mustang is in serious need of wheelie bars
Tue, 25 Feb 2014The Ford Mustang on the right is drag racing with the standard technique. The Mustang on the left, driven by David Measell, is using a new "rear bumper only" technique that evidently surprised everyone at the South Georgia Motorsports Park strip - including Measell.
Measell said his outfit just bought the car the week before the event, noting that it has more than 2,000 horsepower. Speaking of his "flying" run, Measell said, "We turned it up to dip on down," by which he meant they turned up the power in order to get his time down. Turns out all that power and all that traction sent the nose straight up into the air almost as soon as the race began.
He told an interviewer afterward that this was his first race in a "regular car" since he normally drives a pro-mod. "I like my wheelie bars," he concluded. You can see how he got there in the video below.
