Nice 1964 Ford Falcon Sprint, 289 4 Speed, Clasic, Sporty, Good Driver. on 2040-cars
Clarkston, Washington, United States
Up for auction is a very nice 1964 Ford Falcon Sprint with 289, and 4 speed. This little Sprint has just finished it's restoration. A very solid, no rust, straight body, was taken down to bare metal, then the original blue color was reapplied. Doors, deck lid, and hood fit nice. All glass is good, with a new windshield, all new window regulators, and all new rubbers were installed. Door and trunk rubbers are also new. New chrome bumpers have also been installed. This Sprint's 289 engine starts easy, and runs strong. New belts, hoses, water pump, radiator, voltage regulator, rebuilt carburetor, and new starter were installed. A rebuilt 4 speed transmission adds to the fun drive of this falcon. Rebuilt front end, with shocks, link pins, bushings, torque strut bushings, front brakes, wheel cylinders, and wheel bearings make this power steering car an ease to drive. New American wheels, and new BF Goodrich T/A Radial's give this Spring a nostalgic look. The insides are fresh, with new upholstery, carpeting, heater box and core. The family cat did get in, and scratched the drivers side front bucket seat. (Look at pictures closely) We have the Sprint logo that go's on the seat, but it was not put on when the upholstery was done, also the steering wheel is brown not blue. The car has new headlights, tune signal switch, and all lights work as they should, but the back up lights are not hooked up. I'm listing this little Sprint for a friend, and will answer all questions as well as I can. Buyer is responsible for shipping, and all shipping costs. We will help with loading on our end, and in anyway we can. For questions please call Bill (208)750-0000 |

Detroit 3 small cars lay an egg in latest Consumer Reports reliability study
Tue, 28 Oct 2014Consumer Reports has released its Annual Auto Reliability Survey and the results are, in a word, interesting. While we already covered the score-damaging effects of infotainment systems, there's another big angle to the data that's getting some attention - the utterly dismal scores of the Detroit Three's small car offerings.
The turbocharged Dodge Dart and Chevrolet Cruze, as well as the Ford Fiesta were their respective brands' lowest-scoring models, a stat that's made worse by the fact that the American automakers finished 25th, 21st and 23rd, respectively.
That's not acceptable for The Detroit Free Press' auto critic, Mark Phelan, who has penned a scathing critique of the D3's small car reliability scores, arguing that GM, Ford and Chrysler are "out of excuses."
GM already raising prices on 2014 Silverado and Sierra pickups
Mon, 14 Oct 2013General Motors must be pretty pleased with sales of its two newest pickups, the GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado, as it's announced price hikes for both models, as part of a planned price tweak.
Prices will be bumped by as much as $1,500, although weirdly, they'll be offset by as much as $1,500 in cash-back offers through the end of October. Fox Business reports that GM spokesman Jim Cain said of the price hike, "With the sell down of the '13 models nearly complete, this price adjustment was planned and is a normal part of business."
The move, as Fox is quick to point out, is an interesting one, as sales of the twin pickups struggled last month relative to the Ford F-Series, while both of GM's crosstown competitors have been aggressively undercutting Silverado and Sierra prices. The F-150 starts at $24,070 and the Ram 1500 comes in at $23,600, not counting any cash on the hood. A base Silverado, meanwhile, retails at $25,575.
Focus STs for SEMA include Lotus and Gulf liveries, rally-fied police car
Tue, 22 Oct 2013Ford, as we mentioned on Saturday, is pulling out all the stops for November's SEMA show, bringing 57 vehicles to the Las Vegas event. Ford will be staggering the release of its SEMA flotilla, though, so expect to hear a lot about the new additions to the fleet in the weeks to come. We already showed you the Fiesta, Fiesta ST and Mustang models that made up the first batch of SEMA cars. Next up, we have a quartet of modded Focus STs joining Ford's SEMA roster.
Our first Focus ST (pictured above) sports the legendary livery of Gulf Racing. The orange-on-blue scheme, which Ford helped make famous at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, has been updated for 2013, with a more vibrant blue. This ST was built by Universal Technical Institute, while the exterior was done by Neil Tjin of Tjin Edition. Side exhausts, a Vortech supercharger and a Motiv Concepts high-flow cat allow the ST to breathe a bit easier, while Forgestar wheels contrast well with the iconic paint scheme.
Focus ST number two has been done-up by PM Lifestyle and is inspired by "Southern California car culture." Sporting a sleek, pale blue paint job, there's also no shortage of carbon fiber on the car's exterior. The 2.0-liter, turbocharged, four-cylinder engine has been massaged by the likes of Banks Power, COBB Tuning and Ford Racing, while the suspension is wearing a shiny, new set of coilovers and sway bars. The meaty brakes, tucked behind 19-inch, Rotiform wheels, come from Wilwood, while the cabin has been fitted with a pair of Sparco Chrono seats and five-point, Schroth harnesses.
