2000 Ford Focus Se Sedan 4-door 2.0l Needs Timing Belt on 2040-cars

Year:2000 Mileage:145702
Location:

I have a Gold 2000 Ford Focus SE for sale. It ran up until today and will need the timing belt replaced as well as the tie rod ends replaced. It does have some rust along the bottom of the doors and a crack in the bumper. It has 145,702 miles and is an automatic. It will need towed as I wouldn't suggest driving it without a new timing belt. If you know how to fix this on the spot and bring a timing belt then it could be driven. I also did some research and since this is a SOHC there will be no damage to the valves or pistons. Once the timing belt is replaced it'll run great again.

I have replaced:
Brakes ( rotors, drums, pads, studs and cylinders)
Both O2 Sensors
Alternator which has a lifetime warranty
Power Steering Pump and Line
Starter
Battery

It Needs:
Timing Belt
Tie Rod Ends

I don't have the time or know-how to fix this myself between work and school so my loss is your gain. The KBB value ($2258) of this car in fair condition meaning:

Requires some mechanical repairs
The paint and bodywork may require refinishing and body repair
The engine compartment has leaks and may require repairs
May have some repairable rust damage
The body has dents, chips, and/or scratches
The interior has substantial wear, and may have small tears
Wheels may be warped or bent, have major scratches, scrapes, or pitting and require replacement
The tires may not match and need replacing
Needs servicing, but is still in reasonable running condition with a clean title history
A few service records are available

Mustang driver proves wheels are overrated

Mon, 21 Apr 2014

We don't need to tell you that there's something missing in the image above. What we do need to tell you is that this is not a picture of a parked car stranded on the highway. This is, rather, just one frame from video of that three-wheeled Mustang traveling down the highway at highway-appropriate speed.
We don't know where you'd have to be nor how badly you'd have to be there to go shooting down the freeway in a car with three wheels, but if the New Daily News is correct, that place is somewhere in Texas. The video's short, but you'll have plenty of time to shake your head at it by just scrolling down.

Detroit automakers mulling helping DIA avoid bankruptcy looting

Tue, 13 May 2014

It's not really a secret that the city of Detroit is in lots and lots of trouble. Even with an emergency manager working to guide it through bankruptcy, a number of the city's institutions remain in very serious danger. One of the most notable is the Detroit Institute of Arts, a 658,000-square-foot behemoth of art that counts works from Van Gogh, Picasso, Gauguin and Rembrandt (not to mention a version of Rodin's iconic "The Thinker," shown above) as part of its permanent collection.
Throughout the bankruptcy, the DIA has been under threat, with art enthusiasts, historians and fans of the museum concerned that its expansive collection - valued between $454 and $867 million by Christie's - could be sold by the city to help square its $18.5-billion debt.
Now, though, Detroit's hometown automakers could be set to step up and help save the renowned museum. According to a report from The Detroit News, the charitable arms of General Motors, Ford and Chrysler could be set to donate $25 million as part of a DIA-initiated campaign, called the "grand bargain." As part of the deal, the DIA would seek $100 million in corporate donations as part of a larger attempt at putting together an $816-million package that would be paid to city pension funds over 20 years. Such a move would protect the city's art collection from being sold off.

Solid axle? What solid axle?
I was fully prepared to embark on a seven-day journey down a rabbit hole of broken bolts, internet hearsay and consternation.
This should not have gone this easily. Having a long and checkered history of simple projects punctuated by much wailing and gnashing of knuckles, I was fully prepared to embark on a seven-day journey down a rabbit hole of broken bolts, internet hearsay and consternation when I finally decided to lay hands on the '89 Mustang with the goal of relieving the car of its stock rear axle. Instead, it took less than a full morning's worth of work to carve the old 7.5-inch solid axle from its moorings and mock up something, well, different.
