1964 Ford Galaxie 500 Fastback on 2040-cars
Whitehouse, Ohio, United States
I have listed this car a couple of times with a very fair reserve. I should of sold it a couple months ago for $11,200.00. I have lowered the reserve to $10,000, Try to build this car for that price. Car has just been painted by a professional body shop that specializes in High dollar mopars. Some of their work has been featured in magazines. This is not a trailer queen, although I took it to a local car show this weekend and this car had one of the nicest paint jobs. It goes down the road great, Runs great and shifts great. Motor has been rebuild in the last year with a mild cam. The engine is a 289 that runs great. Car has drum brakes all the way around. New wheel cylinder's, hoses and shoes up front. When I bought the car it had its original paint ( Chantilly Beige ), which I had changed to Guardsman blue. I recently put in a new interior kit. Door panels were dyed to match as they are in pretty good shape. The trunk was sprayed with rino liner type of material. Chrome is in really good shape. I put a rechromed bumper on the front and reproduction on the rear. I have included a couple of pictures of the floors that I took when the carpet was out. The floors still have the original paint on them. This car turns heads and gets thumbs up every time I drive it. Please ask questions before bidding. Car is sold as is. The tires are new takeoffs off a 2011 mustang and they are 17 inch. Car drives real smooth with them. Thanks and good luck. I can be reached at (419)265-3306 Doug

The 11 most expensive American cars ever
Tue, 12 Aug 2014Here's a Pro Tip for all you would-be classic car investors out there: buy Ferraris. With the Pebble Beach festivities kicking off this week, including any number high end car auctions, we thought it would be entertaining to compile a list of some to the most expensive cars ever sold with the bang of a gavel. Trouble is, once you get past the splendor of everyone's favorite Italian sports car maker, that list is pretty boring.
Ferrari dominates the all-time auction sales list; seven of the top ten most expensive cars sold wear the Cavallino Rampante badge, as well as more than half of the top fifty. Sure, a nearly $30-million Mercedes-Benz W196 racecar might be the new top dog as of last year, but it's even possible that Ferrari could take that title back in Monterey this weekend. Long story short: we think a list of the most expensive American cars ever sold at auction is a lot more entertaining to read. Hell, our list has a friggin' Batmobile on it, how can it go wrong?
Follow on below for the top ten cars that are red, white, blue and a whole lot of green.
2015 Ford Mustang already under recall, but just 53 units
Sun, 19 Oct 2014Ford has issued a small - but significant - recall for one of its spotlight cars: the 2015 Mustang.
The recall affects just 53 cars, with 50 in the United States and three in Canada. Ford said the passenger side safety belt buckle tension sensor may not have been calibrated properly by the supplier. This could lead to "misclassification" of the passenger seat occupant, and could cause the airbag to deploy improperly.
A Ford spokesperson didn't immediately respond to a request for comment. In a statement, the automaker said it is not aware of any accidents or injuries, and dealers will replace the buckle assembly at no cost to customers. The cars affected were built at Flat Rock Assembly Plant in Michigan from Aug. 18 to Oct. 2.
Ford to announce Mulally retirement, Fields CEO as early as May 1
Mon, 21 Apr 2014Ford CEO Alan Mulally may be about to announce his long-rumored retirement from the Blue Oval, according to a pair of insiders who spoke to Bloomberg. An official statement on the succession could arrive as soon as May 1. Chief Operating Officer Mark Fields is rumored to step up as the new CEO. The company is said to be readying the announcement soon to ensure an orderly transition of power, according to the insiders.
Mulally's retirement from Ford has been a hot topic for a while. He was seriously rumored last year to be leaving the automaker to take over as the CEO of Microsoft. The board even said at one point that it was okay with them if he stepped down early. However, the CEO maintained he would stay with the business through at least the end of 2014. Fields has been rumored as a frontrunner to take over the top spot at the company since he was promoted to COO.
For the moment, Ford isn't officially confirming any of these plans. "We don't comment on speculation. We do have succession plans in place for our key leadership. We take succession planning very seriously," said Susan Krusel, Ford Global News Manager, to Autoblog.
