Ford Galaxie 500 circa 1967 in very good shape. Bought this car about a decade ago and it had had extensive mods performed prior to my purchase. The Galaxie has a 428 c.i. Ford FE motor from FE Specialties in Sacramento, CA. I am in possession of nearly $16,000 in receipts for parts and labor on this car for work done to it, prior to my purchase of the car. Looking at the receipts, it appears most work was done around 2000 to 2002. Pretty sure it now has a 3:25 locking rear axle. C-6 transmission seems to be pretty beefy with B&M accessories and requires specific trans fluid. The body appears to have the original paint and interior. The battery has been relocated to the trunk over the right rear wheel in a battery box. The car has a nice Alpine stereo with 40amp Clarion booster. Good reliable alarm system that you don't need to worry about. I have the missing piece of trim missing on the dash under the glove box buried in my garage. The car comes with the original owners cards from Sacramento California circa 3-1967. Original owners manual. Original owner was apparently a lady. Bought the car locally, which is about an hour from Sacramento, CA where this car resided most of its existence.
Data plate is intact and reads as follows; /Body-63B /Color-6 /Trim-6U /Date 14-B /DSO-72 /Axl-8 /Trans-Y
Working on the brakes, the Galaxie has and aftermarket electric vacuum generator due to the high lift camshaft. No vacuum assist as this time, but will fix, if not fixed prior to sale may negotiate price a bit.
There's really too much stuff on this car to list everything, and I'm more of a driver than a mechanic. Someone who enjoys big Ford FE power and a nice full framed car like these will dig this car.
Gets more comments than any car I've ever owned. That list includes some pretty wild rides too, so that says a lot about this car.

Automakers' rush on aluminum may result in shortage
Thu, 13 Feb 2014Aluminum is the new buzzword in the automotive industry. The latest Range Rover and Range Rover Sport both take advantage of the lightweight material to shave huge amounts of body fat (only it's called "aluminium" over there). Audi and Jaguar have been using the stuff for years in their A8 and XJ, respectively, and now, aluminum is going mainstream, arriving on the 2015 Ford F-150.
While we're excited to see aluminum make an impact outside the premium market, its widespread adoption apparently won't come without some problems, notably in terms of supply. "There isn't an automotive manufacturer that makes vehicles in North America that we're not talking to," Tom Boney, of Novelis, the largest global supplier of aluminum sheetmetal, told The Detroit News.
According to Boney, Ford's use of aluminum on such a large scale has forced auto manufacturers in "every boardroom" to reconsider their plans following the F-150's unveiling, for one simple reason: there's not exactly enough aluminum to go around, at least in the short term. The auto industry presently only accounts for six percent of the aluminum sheet produced, but as the material is adopted by more and more brands, that figure is expected to swell to 25 percent within the next six years.
2015 Ford Expedition
Mon, 21 Jul 2014While the tide of bigger-is-better SUVs has been in recession since, well, the recession, fullsize utes are still very much with us. Conservative creatures that have been loathe to evolve, fullsize SUVs nonetheless remain enduringly popular among large families, livery customers, and anyone with lots of friends, relatives, and toys to tug around. With respect to Toyota and Nissan, the only players that really matter in the segment are the new-for-2015 Chevrolet Tahoe/Suburban, the GMC Yukon/Yukon XL, and this truck: the Ford Expedition, the latest evolution of which we just drove for the first time at a press preview in West Virginia.
Unlike the General Motors utilities, the standard Expedition and the long-wheelbase Expedition EL are not all-new, but rather are heavily refreshed versions of the same basic truck Ford started selling way back in 2007. The front fascia is where most of the exterior update happens for 2015, with a new three-bar grille design, halogen projector headlamps, and new bumper design with available LED foglamps. Despite all the new bits, the facelift breaks exactly zero ground in terms of design; in fact, it already looks dated, and will only look older once the macho 2015 F-150 bows later this year. Even less has changed out back, where the tailgate gets a wide chrome band spanning the taillamps and a new chrome exhaust tip. Other exterior changes are generally limited to colors and an all-new wheel lineup that includes a gleaming set of six-spoke 22-inch polished wheels on high-end models.
Speaking of high-end models, a new Platinum trim is positioned above the cowboy-spec King Ranch model for 2015. Both the Platinum and King Ranch get their own color combos and exterior trim finishes (satin metal for the Platinum, chrome everywhere and ginormous badges for the King Ranch) and posh, leather-lined interiors with their own aesthetic. The Expedition family also now includes a price-leading XL model, as well as XLT and Limited grades.
Feds open investigation into Chevy Express, Ford Freestar rust issues
Wed, 28 Dec 2011'Tis the season... for road salt. And with that, comes rust. And what does rust bring? Well, for Ford and General Motors, a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation. According to The Detroit News, NHTSA is looking into potential recalls issues with Chevrolet Express vans and Ford Freestar minivans.
The feds have received five complaints that rust has caused leaking fuel filler pipes on 2003 Express vans. Separately, seven complaints have been filed over excessive rust in the rear wheel wells of 2004 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans. The Freestar and Monterey went out of production in 2007. Neither issue has resulted in any crashes or injuries, according to the report.
