Here is probably the lowest milage and nicest all original, never restored,1971 Ford LTDs in existence. This car has just over 14900 miles on it,and it is a true survivor. This car has never been restored, and it looks very nice.I am describing this car honestly, and letting all potential buyers of any flaws or issues. The body has no rust, and the interior has no rips or tears anywhere. The original paint shines nicely and looks nice, but there are a few tiny rock chips here and there. The paint on the right rear quarter extension has some scratches(see pictures),this would be an easy fix for any body shop. This car has several options,429 4 barrel,ps,pb,ac,tilt,cruise,am/fm stereo, bucket style seats with fold down arm rests, rim blow steering wheel, and the woodgrain trim package in the interior. The air conditioning blows cold air as it should. This car was stored inside all of its life, and it shows that it was cared for very well. This car runs and drives, and the brakes, and transmission work great as they should. This car hasnt been driven very much over the last 20 years,so the fuel system will need flushed out.I replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter, and i have driven the car just over 100 miles, but once in a while it will sputter.I have put 15 gallons of fresh 93 octane premium fuel in it,but i believe there is still some old poor fuel and residue in the tank, therefore the fuel tank will need removed, cleaned and flushed out before being driven any distance.I recommend the buyer to trailer this car home to avoid any fuel system problems. The tires might even be the originals, and the tread looks great, but you may want to change them for piece of mind if you plan on driving this alot.To my knowledge the only things that dont work on this car are the fuel gauge, and the clock. The original owner owned this car until 2010,and the only reason it was sold was because of his health.I am the third registered owner and the title is clear and in my name.Old cars are only original once, and they are impossible to find in this condition,so dont miss out on this one. This auction is for local pickup only.I WILL NOT SHIP THIS CAR.I am located in central iowa near tama and marshalltown just off of highway 30.Payment is to be in CASH when picked up,NO PAY PAL,NO EXCEPTIONS.This car must be picked up and paid for in full(CASH),within 2 weeks of auctions close. This is a 42 year old car,so there is NO WARRANTY.PLEASE SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY.If you have 0 feedback contact me before bidding,or your bid maybe cancelled. This car is for sale locally as well,so the auction could be ended early if a serious buyer comes along. If you have any questions i can be reached at 641-751-8225.Thanks and happy bidding.

Jerry Seinfeld doesn't love Sarah Jessica Parker's new Country Squire in latest CiCGC
Fri, 20 Jun 2014Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee has finally returned for its fourth season of combining Jerry Seinfeld, a miscellaneous celebrity and a cup of java. But rather than fondly remembering some older piece of automotive machinery, this time around, Seinfeld is utterly unable to keep his hatred of Sarah Jessica Parker's 1976 Ford LTD Country Squire from coming out to hilarious effect.
However, Parker has such a high level of infectious enthusiasm for her recently purchased Country Squire that she seems to win over Seinfeld by the end - at least a little bit. For most of their time together, the two of them drive around Manhattan and the suburbs waxing nostalgic about what things were like when these wagons were ubiquitous.
Since this is actually SJP's car, she and Seinfeld trade off driving duties, and the image above should give you some indication of Seinfeld's reaction to the Sex and the City star behind the wheel. It seems this '70s land yacht might be a little too much for her to handle in New York traffic. Regardless, she is absolutely in love with her Ford.
Ford opens the doors on its Swedish rally skunkworks
Fri, 19 Sep 2014It's always amazing to see how different kinds of racecars are made. Formula One racers are often constructed in modern architectural marvels that hint at some of the cutting-edge technology going into the racing. Conversely, rallying is all about sliding around on a varied course as fast as possible, but it often leaves a vehicle caked in mud. So it makes some sense Olsbergs MSE, or simply (OMSE) rally car shop in Nynashamn, Sweden, shows technological sophistication in a more down-to-earth setting. It builds Ford Fiesta ST racers for Global Rallycross there, and this new video gives viewers a tour through the work.
Former rally driver Andreas Eriksson runs OMSE. These days instead of racing, he and the company's 46 employees are building Ford racers from scratch. A ton of work goes into constructing each one, and according to Eriksson, it takes 400 hours to complete each body. At times, things are so busy that some of the technicians live in the shop in apartments that are on premises. There's even a restaurant to keep them fed. Sadly the dyno room is empty during this visit, though.
By the time OMSE is done, a rallycross car might resemble a Fiesta ST on the outside, but as you see in the video, it's a completely different beast underneath. Check out the work it takes to build one of them, and scroll down to read more about it in the official release.
Ford announces first non-pursuit-rated police car ever
Wed, 18 Sep 2013Ford announced its first non-pursuit-rated Police Interceptor ever, based on the Taurus, which employs the smaller 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine in place of similar pursuit-rated Police Interceptors powered by naturally aspirated 3.5-liter and 3.7-liter V6s and the top-spec 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. Officially called the Special Service Police sedan, the car was commissioned at the request of law-enforcement agencies that desire a more fuel-efficient vehicle for detectives, administrators and campus police, who don't necessarily need pursuit-rated vehicles.
The 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine produces 240 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque, but more importantly, it allows the SSP sedan to achieve somewhere in the neighborhood of 22 miles per gallon city and 32 mpg highway, which are the civilian 2.0-liter Taurus' official EPA ratings. Ford estimates that the SSP sedan will get 20 mpg city, 30 mpg highway and 23 mpg combined, with the help of Active Grille Shutters that open to allow more cooling air through to the radiator, or close to optimize aerodynamics and fuel economy. Those numbers compare favorably to the discontinued Crown Victoria-based Interceptor's 14 mpg city and 21 mpg highway and the newer Taurus-based cars equipped with V6s, the most fuel efficient of which gets 18 mpg city and 26 mpg highway.
If it was driven 90,000 miles over the course of three years, a 2.0-liter SSP sedan would save law enforcement agencies $5,042.92 versus the Crown Vic, Ford estimates. The EPA is expected to post official fuel-economy numbers for the SSP sedan in December. Until then, read the press release below for more information.
