You are bidding on a 1928 Ford Model A Automobile.  It is a Rumble Seat Roadster.  I am listing this car for a friend.  The car belonged to his father.  He and his father completely restored this car over ten years ago.  It has less than 500 miles since the restoration and it is still beautiful.  It was restored from a very nice original, running car that had been in a collector's hands probably since the 1950's.  This has always been a complete solid car and is not an assemblage of parts.   The car runs great and everything on it works.  I'm by no means an expert on these cars, but I don't see how one could possibly be much nicer.  Message me with any questions or for more detailed pictures.  Car is located in Central Arkansas.  Buyer to arrange and pay for shipping.  Payment by PayPal, Cashier's Check or Cash.

My original description, (above), may have given you the impression that this car was a backyard, shade tree restoration.  This is not the case.  My friend and his father were serious car collectors together and my friend is a world class restorer, painter and customizer who has had his cars featured on the covers of national magazines and has won many awards in major car shows.  He built this car with his father, who recently passed away.  This was a "no expense spared" project that resulted in a car that his father really loved.  Unfortunately, the car has been sitting, collecting dust (see Pics) and is not being shown or used.  If you bid on this auction, win it, inspect it, and then don't love it, we'll cancel the transaction and there will be no hard feelings.  Thanks,

2015 Ford F-150 spied in the rain

Mon, 10 Jun 2013

Standing as quite a contrast from the spy shots of the 2015 Ford Mustang we saw earlier today, our spies also sent along these pictures of the next-generation F-150 pickup out testing in its (heavily camouflaged) full prototype body. Much of the new truck's design is hidden under the bulky coveralls, but we expect a lot of its new lines to be inspired by the Atlas concept that debuted at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show.
Perhaps the biggest unknown surrounding the new F-150 is what, exactly, its body will be made of. Earlier reports have suggested that lightweight aluminum materials may be used throughout, offering a serious reduction in weight versus previous models. But Ford engineers will need to be careful, though, as they need to keep a tight rein on costs while preserving class-competitive (if not class-leading) towing and payload capacity.
On the powertrain front, the new F-150 will undoubtedly carry on with EcoBoost engines, and we'd bet on a normally aspirated V8 as well. A diesel option hasn't been confirmed, but we wouldn't be surprised to see one some time in the truck's lifecycle. Mum's the word on when the production F-150 will be revealed, but our best guess is that we'll see it at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.

James Franco and tiger tease Ford Super Bowl commercial

Sat, 01 Feb 2014

Ford has just released a teaser for its Super Bowl ad, and unlike just about every other automaker, it seems that the Blue Oval is going to make us wait until Sunday to see the full spot. The teaser is, um, strange.
It stars James Franco, who believes he is Ron Riggle, the comedian, Fox NFL Sunday host and retired Marine lieutenant colonel. There's also a tiger. The vague spot has Franco claiming that "this is no ordinary commercial." You'll note on the bottom right, there's a Ford logo and the hashtag #nearlydouble.
According to Automotive News, it's part of a massive viral effort being pushed forward by Ford and its dealerships. Ford sent different teasers and "vignettes" to dealership employees and asked them to share them on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, in the hopes of creating a viral effect.

Ford bondage ads reportedly trigger firings at Indian ad agency

Wed, 27 Mar 2013

You will probably remember the ads for the Ford Figo hatchback in India, the ones that showcased the extra large boot of the little hatchback by joking that you can fit three of your enemies in the trunk. One of the ads had Michael Schumacher in the front seat, obviously pleased about having Sebastian Vettel, Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso tied up in the back. But the other two had Paris Hilton and ex-Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi up front and three bound and gagged women in the back - in Hilton's case (shown above), it was the Kardashians.
This did not go over well, and Reuters reports that certain employees at JWT India have been fired over the matter. It is also reported that the images weren't actual advertisements, nor were they part of an actual campaign; JWT said they "were never intended for paid publication, were never requested by our Ford client." A JWT rep said the employees who created the ads did so on their own, Ford commented to Automotive News that the ads were "part of a creative exercise intended to test concepts for an advertising competition."
The problem, if the story is to be believed, is that the employees skipped the regular review protocols and uploaded their work to an ad industry site - they were found on Ads of the World. That page, like the employees, has been removed.
