Up for bids is my Real steel 1928 Ford Roadster hotrod .  This Car is an original steel body, on a fully boxed real 28 frame.  The motor is a 59A Ford Flathead, with the matching 3 speed trans.  It has a GM 7.5 inch rear end with I believe 2.73 gears.  Here are some specs on the car:

Original Steel body

1946 Flathead 59A

New Gas tank

New battery

Converted to 12 volts (gen)

New stewart warner repop gauge bezel

new omega tan face gauges

All new Drum brakes in rear

New juice brakes in front

Original steel grille shell

New griffin aluminum radiator

new cap and rotor

Distributor rebuilt

New plug wires

new coil

New voltage regulator

all new wiring, wired basic hotrod style.

nice new tires all around

This car still needs a few minor things to be roadworthy.  The car needs brake lines installed, and needs interior done. The lower firewall and the floor where the trans tunnel is  fiberglass.  There is also some fiberglass patching around the inside of the trunk lid.  It does have a seat in it but that's it.  There are probably a few things I have missed.  Please ask questions and I will answer them as good as I can.  Feel free to call me (802) 222-1863 before 9:00 est.

This car is a really good start to a kick ass hot rod!  Its almost done!  These cars finished are 20k plus!  This car could be cruising down the road with a weekends worth of work.

I will consider offers and reserve the right to end this auction at any time.  A $500 Non refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of auction end.  Thanks and happy bidding!

Focus ST diesel variant coming, just don't look for it here

Fri, 07 Mar 2014

A few years back, Volkswagen made some waves when it announced the Golf GTD - a diesel-powered car that, aside from its ultra-efficient, ultra-torquey engine, was identical to the gas-powered GTI. That meant cosseting sport seats, larger wheels, sportier suspension, larger brakes and a body kit that made the GTD indistinguishable from the GTI, except for the three little letters on the back and in the grille.
Now, Ford is looking to replicate VW's success, with a diesel version of the Focus ST. According to Motor Trend, the diesel-powered ST will use a 2.0-liter, 182-horsepower four-cylinder. With an unspecified amount of torque on offer (we'd guess around 280 pound-feet), the diesel hot hatch should hit 62 miles per hour in about eight seconds.
The report, which originally comes from Auto Express, claims the ST Diesel was confirmed by Ford Chief Marketing Officer Mark Fields during this week's Geneva Motor Show. Not surprisingly, it doesn't appear there are any plans to bring a diesel-powered Focus of any kind to the US, let alone one that uses the suspension, steering and other items from the ST. Of course, if there's an official confirmation from Ford, we'll be sure to report on it.

Ford making Fusion production moves to challenge Camry on volume

Mon, 26 Aug 2013

The Ford Fusion may already beat the Toyota Camry in terms of models offered, transaction price and sales increase so far this year, but if the Fusion wants to make a run at the title of best-selling car in the US, Bloomberg reminds us that volume is key. Opening a second production line at the Flat Rock, MI assembly plant will reportedly allow Ford to produce around 350,000 Fusions annually, which compares Toyota's ability to crank out 475,000 Camrys and Honda's capacity to build around 450,000 Accords.
For the Fusion, that's an extra 100,000 units compared to the car's current pace, and the article adds that the Fusion is "Ford's best shot" to regain the passenger car sales crown - a title it (or any other US automaker, for that matter) hasn't held since the mid-1990s. Despite hiccups with recalls and fuel economy numbers, the Ford Fusion is still red hot when it comes to sales. Fusion sales are up 13 percent so far this year (compared to a 0.6 percent decrease for Camry), and its average transaction price of $26,343 is about $2,300 more than its rival from Toyota.
The Fusion's popularity has helped Ford improve its sales in California; the Dearborn-based automaker has a market share of 18 percent in the state, which is just a fraction of a percentage behind Honda. And this popularity should continue as Ford ups Fusion production and expands the model lineup even further for 2014 with a new 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine soon to become an option.
