This car has been a consistent show winner. This car runs great and looks great! I purchased this car in 1995 and have enjoyed it ever since. This car has always been garage kept and has only seen rain twice. The engine runs great and the transmission shifts smooth. This street rod has an original uncut body and fiberglass fenders. The interior is tan Mohair with the dash sporting Dakota Digital equipment mounted on a solid oak hand rubbed dashboard. There is also a tilt steering wheel for driving comfort. The radio is hidden under the dash (for aesthetics) but still within easy reach and is equipped with a power antenna. The rear window can be opened providing additional ventilation (this is a rare item) the front windshield also tilts open. The carpet is new and professionally done.

The power for this street rod is provided by a 327ci Chevy engine bolted to a 350-turbo transmission with a shift kit and a 2500-rpm stall converter. The exhaust system consists of Sanderson Stainless steel headers, which have been ceramic, coated. There are also Flow master mufflers and the exhaust ends with chrome Megs exhaust tips. Cooling of the engine is accomplished with a Walker Radiator equipped with two additional Spal fans used during slow moving parades. The engine is fueled by an Edlebrock carburetor and intake. The engine compartment has chrome value covers, chrome starter, chrome alternator, chrome pulleys and a chrome fan blade, chrome radiator hose neck, a chrome coil and a chrome dip stick The ignition is provided by a Mallory electronic ignition distributor. The plug wires are a contrasting color held in place by a chrome wire harness. The engine block has been detailed in Chevy red with contrasting black bolts throughout.

The suspension consists of a Four link front and rear suspension a 3" dropped front axle with Mono Spring, and a Ford 9" rear with coil over shocks. The brakes are Disc in front and Drum in the rear. The gas tank is 15 gallons and mounted in the trunk still leaving room for your stuff.

This Street Rod has always attracted tremendous attention and is a great ride.

Stock Miata beats bunch of high-powered cars in wet 1/4-mile drag race

Thu, 06 Jun 2013

When is a stock, 167-horsepower Mazda MX-5 Miata quicker than a Chevrolet Corvette, Ford Mustang, Lamborghini Gallardo, Lotus Elise and a Porsche 911? When it's raining. Sort of.
Mazda Canada arranged a unique drag race to show off the fact that the Miata's optional power retractable folding hardtop can go from top-down to top-up in just 12 seconds flat. In this video, all six cars line up for a drag race, and it starts to rain (well, sort of - but you'll have to watch the video all the way to the end to see what we mean). The green flag is waved, and the timer starts as soon as the convertibles begin to put their tops up. But because the Miata's roof mechanism gets the car's roof back up a full 5.1 seconds quicker than the second-place car, the Mazda gets a serious advantage off the line for the actual drag race.
It's a fun video. And while we've spoiled the results (come on, the video was uploaded by Mazda, you knew the Miata was going to win), be sure to see how it all unfolds, below.

Ford cleans up painting process with cameras

Thu, 22 Aug 2013

Knowing how the bacon gets made rarely entices us and, in the same vein, the same usually goes for knowing about how new cars get painted. But in both instances, however, quality - or a lack thereof - is instantly obvious. In terms of the latter, Ford is showing off its new paint quality process with 3D Dirt Detection Technology to find imperfections in vehicle paint more easily and more quickly.
This process - being performed on the F-150 SVT Raptor above - uses 16 computer-controlled cameras to create a three-dimensional model (inset) of the vehicle to detect flaws in the paint including dirt particles, which can then be buffed out manually. Ford says this new technology cuts down on time spent looking for paint flaws and gives workers more time to correct those that are discovered.
Currently, Ford only uses its 3D Dirt Detection Technology system at three factories (the Dearborn, MI facility, along with those in Louisville, Kentucky and Valencia, Spain), but it will soon spread to five more plants in North America. Ford has released a video and press release for this innovative and unexpectedly interesting process, both of which are posted below.

You can now order Domino's pizza from your Sync-equipped Ford

Tue, 07 Jan 2014

The news keeps pouring in from the Consumer Electronics Show now underway in Las Vegas, and the latest comes from Ford which has announced two new apps for its Sync AppLink system.
First up is a cooperative app launched by Ford together with Domino's Pizza that lets drivers of the former order pizza from the latter right from their car. The service allows those with Ford Sync AppLink in their car or truck and are registered with a Domino's Pizza Profile to place an order for their favorite pie using Dearborn's voice-recognition software for either pickup or delivery. Save your information in your Pizza Profile and it'll be sent to your house without even the push of a button, which strikes us as awesome a use of technology as we've ever seen.
