up for auction is my all steel NO FIBERGLAS 1930 ford roadster with a 32 grille shell, this car was professionally built in 1999 and was retrofitted with a new aluminum head performance ford 302 motor and a c-4 automatic transmission from ford racing 9 months ago, i have the receipts and documentation from ford racing. the car has NEW: msd ignition, copper core radiator, 750 holley carb., ceramic coated headers, distributor, these are all new parts. the car has a custom boxed tube frame, 4-link suspension, front dropped axle with cross spring and disc brakes , 9" ford rear with drum brakes and coil overs, power brakes, rack and pinion steering, tilt keyless steer column, 8 gallon gas tanks mounted underneath one on each side, firewall moved back, top will fold down or be removed in minutes, electric fan with rheostat, led tail lights, everything on the car works as it should and it drives 100%, also runs cool even sitting in traffic...this car is a great driver. the mileage will go up some as i'm still driving it.

Tue, 27 Aug 2013There's an ultra-rare Ford Thunderbird for sale on eBay, although it's not quite the T-Bird you're probably thinking. This is a 1987 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe, complete with a five-speed manual transmission and just a shade over 13,000 miles on the clock. The condition is said to be mint, and judging by the interior and exterior pictures, we're inclined to believe the seller. The paint is glossy and the interior looks showroom new, while the underbody is stunningly clean for a 36-year-old car.
Underhood sits a 2.3-liter, intercooled and turbocharged four-cylinder (also found in the Mustang SVO) that was producing 190 horsepower when it left the factory. Inside, the five-speed manual transmission adds to the car's rarity. The vehicle's sole owner has been as immaculate with the paperwork as he has with the rest of the car - it's all there, including brochures and other product material.
The eBay auction ends tomorrow at midnight (9:00 PM if you're on America's west coast). Bidding has reached $10,200, and there's still plenty of time to get in on this future classic. The vehicle is located in Millstone Township, NJ.
Ford hybrids getting update to improve fuel economy
Tue, 16 Jul 2013Ford has announced that it is introducing "calibration updates designed to improve on-road fuel economy for owners of the 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid, 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid and 2013 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid."
We can speculate that these changes are at least due in part to lawsuits over mileage claims of hybrid vehicles. The automaker is enhancing 2013 models starting in August by raising their electric cruising speed to 85 miles per hour from 62 mph, optimizing the use of active grille shutters and the climate control system, shortening the engine warm-up period by 50 percent and reducing electric fan speed to minimize the fan's energy consumption.
It bears mentioning that Ford is doing pretty well in the US electrified vehicle market this year. The company claims to have grown its share in the segment by 12 points to 16 percent while taking a high number of Toyota Prius trade-ins in the process. Conversely, Toyota has experienced a five-percent drop in new-Prius sales over the same period. Additionally, Ford states that it has increased its share of the US vehicle market by one percent this year, more than any full-line automaker.
