I am offering for sale a 1903 Model A Ford 2 door standard Coupe. The engine was rebuilt 18 years ago and has only been driven about 1000 miles since. The paint job is older but in nice shape as it has been stored inside and driven very little. The car is completely original. It has a rumble seat with a nice original seat. The interior has a seat in good shape but the headliner and panels are not installed. All original lights, horn and windshield wiper are on the vehicle. The engine runs very good. A new water pump, fan blade and belt very recently installed. Several other parts were purchased for the car and will be provided with the sale of the vehicle.

I purchased the vehicle 2 years ago for an older person who owned the vehicle for well over 30 yrs. I purchased it with the intention of finishing his project. But I find being a larger person. I do not fit well inside it.

A $500 deposit will be required within 2 days of the auction ending. Cash at time of pickup. All checks must clear the bank before the vehicle will be released. Vehicle must be picked up with-in 7 days. Any shipping will be handled by the winning bidder.

The car gets a lot of attention. In the summer I drive it to town a few times.  Every time I am stopped and asked questions.Folks wave going down the road, blink their light or toot their horn.

I have the clear title in hand. Please feel free to call me at 715-445-4380 to answer any questions or set up and appointment to see and drive the Model A. Ask for Chuck

A gentleman who has this car on his watch list came out to inspect it. He crawled under it, pulled the seats out and looked at everything. He was looking for bondo or rusted out stuff. But with the interior missing you can see both side of all the sheet metal. The metal floor boards are new as well as the inter fenders. It was obvious the car is all metal with no patches. But he did find a front fender brace had been welded.

Ford Fiesta rally car warms up in Sweden

Tue, 18 Mar 2014

Rallycross is seeing a sudden surge in popularity with two series bringing the racing to the US and Europe. The Ford OMSE team is competing in both championships this season, and it saw no reason not to hold practice with a highly modified Fiesta in the snow of Northern Sweden. It brought together Andreas Bakkerud from the European-focused FIA World Rallycross Championship and Patrik Sandell from the North American-focused Global Rallycross series for some training and fun. They certainly appear to be enjoying themselves, too, with some lovely pirouettes in the powder.
If you're unfamiliar with rallycross, the discipline combines the best of rallying and circuit racing. Drivers (with no co-drivers) race rally cars over a circuit that generally mixes dirt and asphalt, and unlike traditional rallying, multiple cars compete side-by-side at once. Even better, it's often a very two-fisted form of motorsports with lots of car-to-car contact. Global Rallycross and World Rallycross will both kick off their seasons in May. With spring on the way, scroll down to watch the Fiesta kick up some of the last snow drifts of the year.

Ford reveals automated Fusion Hybrid

Thu, 12 Dec 2013

Autonomous cars may still be in their infancy, but more and more big names in the auto industry are diving in head first. Nissan is already making strides with a semi-autonomous Leaf EV and General Motors is planning to offer semi-autonomous tech by 2020. And then there's Google, doing its thing with a fleet of Toyota Prius. Now, Ford is showing off its latest automated effort, a driverless Fusion Hybrid.
Partnering with the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) and State Farm Insurance, the project is part of Ford's Blueprint for Mobility, the company's plan for transportation beyond 2025. "The Ford Fusion Hybrid automated vehicle represents a vital step toward our vision for the future of mobility," Chairman Bill Ford said. "We see a future of connected cars that communicate with each other and the world around them to make driving safer, ease traffic congestion and sustain the environment."
The automated Fusion features four LiDAR infrared sensors that scan the road 2.5 million times every second, using a principle similar to the echolocation used by dolphins or bats. Using the infrared light emitted by the LiDAR, the car can draw a picture of everything within 200 feet to create a map of its surroundings. According to Ford, the sensors are able to tell the difference between a paper bag and a small animal from a football field away.

Did a US automaker blow the whistle on Hyundai, Kia fuel economy issue?

Mon, 17 Dec 2012

In all of the most hotly contested mainstream segments of the motoring universe, the difference of one mile per gallon averaged on a widow sticker can mean the difference between a sale and a walk-off - to say nothing of two or three mpg. So, when Hyundai and Kia were forced to reveal that many of their 40-mpg ratings were actually 38s and 37s, well, it made for big news.
It also, conceivably, made for a competitive disadvantage immediately, when the Korean automakers' products were being shopped versus the guys down the block. And it's that disadvantage that makes a recent story from Automotive News so juicy.
AN is reporting that Margo Oge, former head of the Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Transportation and Air Quality, got a tip in 2010 that Hyundai/Kia were "cheating" to get its impressive fuel economy numbers. The tip, said Oge (who retired from the EPA this past September), came from a senior vice president from a domestic automaker. The source was credible enough for Oge to launch an audit of the Hyundai figures, which ultimately lead to the debacle that we reported on a few months ago, and that the Korean company has been trying to bounce back from ever since.
