Rare 1931 Ford Model A400. This is an older restoration, but this car is in pristine condition. The motor has been completely rebuilt, as well as a rebuilt carburetor, starter, distributor and water pump, a brand new 6v alternator, as well as a new OEM wiring harness from front to back. The speedometer and all gauges work. New halogen headlights were installed, and the horn was also rebuilt and sounds great. The car runs cool and the body condition and paint are excellent, the body has no fillers or body work. The chrome is bright and the paint reflects everything in the backgroundThe radiator is perfect and a stainless steel stone guard was installed. The interior is an older restoration but still looks very nice, and the car has brand new LeBarron Bonney wool carpet as original, as well as new aluminum door sills. Also a brand new LeBarron Bonney convertible top was installed. The tires on the car are new tires but they are weather checked and dry. There are five brand new tires that go with the car. The windshield wiper works and the running boards have brand new matting. The car comes with a new motometer on the radiator. The brakes are new and the car stops very well. The emergency brake works great as well. This car can be driven anywhere. The Ford Model A400 is the rarest body style of the Model A's, just over 5,000 were built, and few are still in existence. There is an A400 club online that can provide more information to this unique body style. This car was once in the Harrah Automobile Collection, and I have all the documentation from Harrah. The car has a title. The car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. Inspections before purchasing the car are encouraged. The convertible top has a cover to go on when the top is down The car comes with a trunk on the back with a new spare tire .

Fitting Retirement: Grand Marquis last Mercury off the line

Wed, 05 Jan 2011

The signs have come down and retail production ended back in October of 2010. Now, the very last Mercury model has rolled off the assembly line. This last Mercury somewhat fittingly takes the form of a Grand Marquis reporting for fleet duty. It was built at the St. Thomas plant in Ontario, Canada, which is the same facility that continues to produce the Ford Crown Victoria and Lincoln Town Car for fleet and livery duty.
St. Thomas' days are numbered, however, as the factory is slated to close on August 31. When it goes, the Panther platform is likely to follow. So long, and thanks for all the fish memories.

Ford Mustang GT500 successor spied near SVT

Tue, 17 Sep 2013

Details about the next-gen Ford Mustang are scarce, and there's even less information out there about the upcoming replacement for the Shelby GT500. Previously rumored to drop the Shelby name and wear the GT350 moniker, the highest-performance Mustang has just been spotted testing near Ford's SVT operations.
Despite being cloaked in heavy camouflage, we can instantly tell this prototype is different from other Mustang spy shots we've seen in the past. Aside from the Shelby-spec wheels, quad exhaust outlets (previous spy shots show only two) and beefier brakes, this car also has air intakes on the hood and front fenders. These elements help to neither prove nor dismiss rumors that the next SVT Mustang will be naturally aspirated. It also looks like Ford is may be planning some changes to this car's rear suspension, as there is some extra camouflage added beneath the rear end of this prototype.
As a bonus, these spy shots also give us our first look inside the new Mustang, revealing a new steering wheel (with more buttons) and a glimpse of the dual-pod instrument gauges. Check out past spy shots of the 2015 Mustang showing off its new face and driving around town.

2016 Ford Explorer embarks at the LA Auto Show

Wed, 29 Oct 2014

Twenty-five years since its debut in 1990, Ford will celebrate a quarter century of Explorer models next year with the debut of a refreshed 2016 model at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show on November 19. The Blue Oval is keeping mum on hard details about the updated SUV for now, but the brand promises, "a new look, added capability and additional driver-assist technology," in its announcement.
Company marketing boss Jim Farley elaborated a little more on what to expect. "The new Explorer is still the SUV America fell in love with - a vehicle built for the perfect family adventure," he said in the release that you're welcome to read down below.
An updated Explorer is a pretty big deal for Ford's bottom line. Worldwide, SUVs and crossovers account for about 23 percent of Ford's sales, and the segment is projected to grow to around 29 percent by 2020. Ford further says that SUVs and CUVs are the world's quickest growing segment with demand up 88 percent since 2008.
