Ford 1930 Model A Coupe This car was restored back in the late eighties (1989) it is all metal and there is no rust-out anywhere. Paint is good for it's age, not a show car by any means, but very nice, with a few minor scratches that come along the way. Fenders,splash aprons and running boards very nice as is the body, excellant condition. Engine, transmission, and rearend were all completely overhauled and the engine was done at a professional shop and starts and runs just fine. Uphol. is very nice as the pictures indicate, it has been in many parades and driven frequently. The tires are fare to poor and at some point need replaced, I would not tour with them, short drives, but not tour. I have just replaced the water pump and fan with new ones from Snyder's. Also new gas shut-off and fuel lines and sedimate bowl. The car does need a ring gear on the flywheel, every now and then the starter will not engage, it is easy to insert the crank and roll the engine over slightly and everything is fine. Ford acquires Livio to bolster connectivity biz
Thu, 26 Sep 2013Ford Motor Company has announced the acquisition of Livio, a Ferndale, MI-based software development company best known for aftermarket in-car connectivity devices, but also as a supplier of technology for proprietary systems for automakers. Livio, co-founded by Sigal and Massimo Baldini, will be a wholly owned subsidiary of Ford Global Technologies.
"With the additional expertise Livio provides us, Ford intends to continue to lead the next generation of in-car connectivity with technology advancements that give consumers more options to access their devices on the go," said Paul Mascarenas, chief technical officer and vice president, Ford Research and Innovation, in a statement.
Ford is clearly trying to beef up its in-house tech capability around telematics and device connectivity. While the Blue Oval has been a leader in these areas with SYNC and MyFord Touch in terms of getting the systems into as many cars as possible, the execution of the applications have been criticized for glitches.
