This '27 Roadster named (T-Bag) was designed and built by Brian Mackey/Mackey's Hot Rods, Inc and completed in April 2012. It was constructed in 14 months all in-house at Mackey's Hot Rods, Huntington Beach, CA. The build consisted of over 1,400 man hours. Everything on this late 60's era hot rod was hand fabricated. The details and craftsmanship are truly amazing. From the high gloss black body, to the hand build custom frame and suspension, to the bright chrome plated side pipe exhaust, it is sure to impress.

The 1927 Ford Roadster was featured with "The Original Sailor Jerry Hot Rod" in the Viva Las Vegas documentary for Sailor Jerry Rum. This video documented the two hot rods on a road trip from Huntington Beach, CA to Las Vegas, NV for the world famous 2012 Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend. To view, use link-

The Roadster was then featured along with Brian Mackey in a Europan Hot Rod Magazine called Wheels Magazine for November 2012. This article by Bo Bertilsson was recieved very well and given a 5 page spread. It highlighted the details and quality of the build with detailed photos of engine, frame and suspenssion.

2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost already hitting 12-second quarters

Sun, 28 Sep 2014

The arrival of a new Ford Mustang means many things to many people, but not least of them is drag racers. The pony car has always been a mainstay of the drag strip, and the Ford Racing team aims to carry that reputation forward with this latest generation. So it cooked up a few basic modifications on three new 'Stangs and headed to the strips at US 131 and Milan Dragway to see what they could coax out of 'em.
Impressively, the 5.0-liter V8 Mustang GT with a few modifications (but no forced induction) managed to clock a quarter-mile time of 11.77 seconds. Another Mustang GT fitted with a supercharger clocked a blistering 10.97 seconds. But just as intriguing was the modified EcoBoost model that, with only four cylinders and 2.3 liters of displacement, still passed the gates in just 12.56 seconds - nearly half a second better than expected. This with modification limited to a new subframe, half-shaft, drive shaft loops, exhaust, engine calibration, slicks, roll cage and bucket seat. Well done, boys.

Long winter means most automakers won't curb summer shutdown

Sun, 18 May 2014

A lot more happened during this latest brutal winter than days of snow and Netflix binges. Automotive sales took a battering. After all, going out car shopping when it's eleventy-billion degrees below zero isn't a good time.
Because of this Old Man Winter-induced sales slump, inventories are abnormally high as we head into the summer car buying season. That's led some analysts to predict that automakers will be more inclined to idle factories this summer, in a bid to trim some of the built-up inventory. Traditionally, American manufacturers offer up a two-week break in the middle of summer, although the burgeoning sales of the past few years have seen this practice become less popular.
"We're likely not going to see an acceleration this year," Jeff Schuster, a senior vice president at LMC Automotive, told The Detroit News. "We'll see production increases in 'pockets' but I don't know if it will be as widespread as in recent years."

American automakers fall in latest Fortune 500 rankings

Fri, 10 May 2013

Not that it means anything beyond bragging rights, but if you're fixated on the positions of domestic automakers on the annual Fortune 500 list, both General Motors and Ford are still on it but they've slipped a couple of notches. The list ranks American companies and they're ordered solely by revenue. GM, fifth last year, came in seventh, while Ford fell from ninth to tenth even though both companies saw small gains in annual revenue.
GM's $152.3 billion in revenue was less than a third of that of the first company on the list: Wal-Mart, which regained the title from Exxon Mobil. Berkshire Hathaway and Apple are the firms that moved GM down. Ford, displaced by energy company Valero, had $134.3 billion in revenue.
On a side note, profitability isn't a factor, but both GM and Ford were down in this year's list compared to last year's: GM declined from $9.2 billion to $6.2 billion, Ford fell from $20.2 billion to $5.6 billion. If profits were included, Exxon Mobil would probably still be king: although the energy company made almost $20 billion less in revenue than Wal-Mart's $469.2 billion, it posted $44.9 billion in profit compared to Wal-Mart's $17 billion.
