This is a very nice restored 1966 Mustang Convertible with the 289 2 barrel engine and the great options of Factory Bench seat, power steering, Air Condition, Automatic transmission and power top. The interior is new ,but the carpet is showing some fading, it is not the original loop carpet, but it is short cut carpet. It had all new seat belts in front and back. door panels where replaced along with dash pad instrument cluster and new AM / FM  cassette radio. New kick panels, Qt trim panels, convertible top and top boot was replaced and even the sun visor brackets/sun visors and header chrome molding was replaced. Very, very nice interior. The engine was rebuilt along with the transmission. The engine has had a complete rebuild and detailed. It had all sending units replaced and new water pump, carburetor was rebuilt. All new hoses, belts, power steering pump, radiator and A/C compressor was replaced new or rebuilt. The Mustang drives great, looking at the suspension it has had new lower control arms, new strut rods, sway bar links, new coil springs, new shocks, new spring seats, new upper control arm ball joints, and even the power steering control valve and slave cylinder and hoses where replaced or rebuilt! At the rear it has new leaf springs and shocks and it has the original 8 " rear end. All front and rear brakes were rebuilt with new wheel cylinders, shoes, flex lines. It has a great body with the original torque box and floor pans all frame rails are original, JUST a Great Body!! The data plate matches the paint, interior, the engine and the transmission. I is a true 76C Factory bench seat Mustang Convertible and it is a very rare option. The tires are in new condition with very few miles on them and the spare tire is new also.                                                                                                                             This will make some one a great car to drive and enjoy as a show car or just drive and have fun with it.

Project Ugly Horse: Part VIII

Fri, 17 May 2013

Now With More EcoBoost
There's an EcoBoost 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder in there somewhere, and it's headed straight for Ugly Horse.
For the second time in my life, I'm staring at an engine in the back of a truck with no concept of how to get it safely into the garage by my lonesome. The first time this happened, I dragged home a $300 International 345 V8 in the back of my Scout Terra only to discover that the bounds of my manliness terminated well before my ability to muscle that 800-pound cast iron block out of the pickup bed.

Saleen SA-30 Mustang, Camaro and Challenger help celebrate the big 3-0

Fri, 22 Nov 2013

After 30 years of tuning performance cars and building racecars, Saleen is celebrating its racing heritage with a limited-production car line called SA-30. Based on the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger, Saleen will only build 10 of each SA-30 model at a base price of $95,000.
For that money, buyers will get upgraded suspension, brakes and engines, and while the power figures have not been released for the SA-30 620 Camaro and SA-30570 Challenger models, the SA-30 302 Mustang will be the top performer with 625 horsepower. Each car will be painted up in a custom pearl white hue with black and yellow accents, and get white wheels shrouding yellow powder-coated brake calipers. Inside, the SA-30 offerings will all get a proper Saleen interior with black leather and white Alcantara on the seats, along with the expected smattering of SA-30 badges.
On all three SA-30 models, customers will have various options available to further customize their cars, including a rear-seat delete option that transforms each car's cabin into a race-inspired interior with a chassis-strengthening rear cross brace. Perhaps the coolest feature of all, though, is the Saleen Frost-Touch Glass that is an option on the SA-30 302 Mustang. Similar to the Mercedes Sky Control roof first introduced on the Mercedes SLK, the Saleen Frost-Touch Glass allows the Mustang's optional glass roof and rear window to be switched from transparent to opaque at the push of a button.

Motorweek goes retro with '80s hot hatch shootout

Mon, 03 Nov 2014

Motorweek's decades of history on television make it the perfect medium to look back into the automotive past and see how things are different now. It recently added old road test videos to its YouTube channel of the Acura NSX and Toyota Supra, as well as the Ferrari F40. For one of its newest flashback clips, Motorweek has exhumed an affordable five-car challenge of 1986's premiere hot hatches.
By today's standards, this is an eclectic field that features fondly remembered classics like the Volkswagen GTI 16-valve and Acura Integra. However, it also throws in some nearly forgotten contenders like the Dodge Colt Turbo and Ford Escort GT. The angular Toyota Corolla FX16 GT-S rounds out the group.
It's fascinating to watch Motorweek run the quintet through the slalom, down the drag strip and on various roads. What's most striking in this clip is the difference in the definition of a performance car between then and now. With its 16-valve, 1.8-liter four-cylinder, the GTI is the burliest of the contenders with 123 horsepower, but it still takes 8.8 seconds to reach 60 miles per hour. By today's standards, that would make it a plain-jane economy car, and not even a particularly quick one.
