The SCC  was Saleen's tribute to Fords 25th anniversary of the Mustang. There was only 161 of these cars produced.  This one is in excellent condition inside and out and is mechanically solid. The only issues with this car is the air does not blow cold air and it is missing on shock rubber on drivers side in the rear and the shock rattles other than that nothing else needs any attention. Saleen did engine modifications for the first time on theses cars so unlike your normal 225 hp mustang these produce 294 hp. Also they originally did not come with a back seat but this one has one. I do know a guy that can probably hook a person up with an back interior panel that originally was in the car. Other than the back seat the only other thing that is modified is I put a cold air intake on it but I do still have original air box. Also I have the original ssc wheels that go with the car. I put brand new wheels and tires on it shortly after I bought it which have about 500 miles on them. I will let the pictures tell the rest of the story but if anyone needs any more information just send me a message and I will be glad to answer any questions. Almost forgot this one is number 184 as you can see by the tags and is also signed by Steve Saleen himself. It is faded out but you can still see it on the passenger side of the dash. This car is originally from the south and stored winters while I owned it so body is pretty much rust free.

Forgot to mention it does have brand new high pressure fuel pump and new adjustable fuel regulator for those of you that might want to modify things or possibly supercharge it the fuel pump will pump plenty of gas.

On Sep-17-13 at 05:43:21 PDT, seller added the following information:

A few questions have been raised about damage and repainting of the car. Just so it is clear yes the car did suffer some damage and has been repainted. I do not have a lot of info or details about that except it involved the drivers door and passenger front and it was all fixed when I purchased it. I can tell you it was a really good job of repairing. By looking at it and driving it you wouldn't know. Drives and handles great and all the door, fender, and other body gaps and lines match up pretty much perfectly. Also all the decals and trim are replaced as they were originally as far as I can see by comparing to any pictures that I researched.

On Sep-19-13 at 07:37:23 PDT, seller added the following information:

Had a few request about some more pictures. So I added a few hopefully they will give everybody a better idea just how good of shape the car is in from top to bottom. I took a couple from under the car as you can see pretty rust free. I also took some of the window moldings and weather stripping to show they are all in good condition also. There is no scrapes or cracks in the ground affects either. As far as other scratches or damage there  really are not any except one touched up spot on the corner by rear spoiler little bigger than a quarter and one little flaw in the paint on the front side of the rear spoiler about the size of a dime. Could not really get a good picture of either getting that close with my camera to try and get them in a picture just ended up as big blur. Either one not real noticeable. Really nice car inside and out and only reason I am selling I just don't drive it and I need a new truck.

Ford Focus ST checks into Jay Leno's Garage

Mon, 23 Sep 2013

In a change of pace from the high-end vehicles that often appear in Jay Leno's Garage, Ford sends its hottest hatchback (in the US, at least), the 252-horsepower Focus ST, to be featured on Leno's show. Accompanying the five-door hatch is its chief engineer, Jamal Hameedi.
Riding on stylish 18-inch wheels with summer tires and with a spoiler that doubles as a lunch tray, Hameedi and Leno walk us through the finer points of what makes the ST special, which also includes bigger brakes, torque vectoring, a manual transmission and, of course, 252 hp and 270 pound-feet of torque from the 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine, which is made possible by 21 psi of turbocharged boost.
Watch the video below to see what Leno thinks of the global Focus ST.

Motorweek goes retro with '80s hot hatch shootout

Mon, 03 Nov 2014

Motorweek's decades of history on television make it the perfect medium to look back into the automotive past and see how things are different now. It recently added old road test videos to its YouTube channel of the Acura NSX and Toyota Supra, as well as the Ferrari F40. For one of its newest flashback clips, Motorweek has exhumed an affordable five-car challenge of 1986's premiere hot hatches.
By today's standards, this is an eclectic field that features fondly remembered classics like the Volkswagen GTI 16-valve and Acura Integra. However, it also throws in some nearly forgotten contenders like the Dodge Colt Turbo and Ford Escort GT. The angular Toyota Corolla FX16 GT-S rounds out the group.
It's fascinating to watch Motorweek run the quintet through the slalom, down the drag strip and on various roads. What's most striking in this clip is the difference in the definition of a performance car between then and now. With its 16-valve, 1.8-liter four-cylinder, the GTI is the burliest of the contenders with 123 horsepower, but it still takes 8.8 seconds to reach 60 miles per hour. By today's standards, that would make it a plain-jane economy car, and not even a particularly quick one.

Your official Ford Transit specs are here, $29,565* to start

Wed, 04 Jun 2014

Ford has released the full list of pricing and specs on its new Transit, the replacement for the long-lived E-Series cargo van. Prices are set to start at $29,565 and can increase rapidly from there, depending on length, engine and wheelbase, among other options.
Let's talk first about those new engines. The base is the familiar 3.7-liter, naturally aspirated V6. It boasts 275 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque and can return up to 14 miles per gallon in the city and 19 mpg on the highway. This engine can also be adapted to run on LPG or compressed natural gas. Of course, there are better alternatives, for a price, the first of which is Ford's well-received, 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. It packs 310 hp and a best-in-class 400 lb-ft of torque (available at just 2,500 rpm) while matching the naturally aspirated engine in both city and highway fuel economy.
Then, there's the diesel. With a 3.2-liter, five-cylinder diesel mill at its disposal, the Transit generates 350 lb-ft between 1,500 and 2,500 rpm, along with 185 hp. This engine hasn't been rated by the EPA, although we'd be really, really surprised if it didn't handily best either of the gas-powered engines in fuel efficiency. A six-speed automatic is standard, regardless of engine.
