Here is my 91 stang! Hate to sell it but i have too many toys and got to let this one go! ITs all stock, original miles, black cloth order from factory this way, It drives nice and runs great! It has been repainted at one time before me. Im told im the 3rd owner or 4th i dont rem., Its 5 speed with new clutch. has newer altenator, new struts, newer tires, front brakes are newer, has all new carpet and cloth seats, carpet in trunk is new too. has new radio and new keyless entry, newer headlights in front, tail lights are LX and I have original GT tail ligts,

Interior is really nice and clean. Top works fine but rate it at a 8 out of 10, cuz it has two little pin holes no big deal but wanted to tell ya, It has all new door gaskets and trunk gaskets. Not that it really needed it .....I just bought them and put them on cuz it was cheap to do! same with the seat cover and carpet

The car seems to have all original trunk lid and fender and hood etc. No leaks that I can see. Still has original upper radiator hose.... date coded from the factory. New battery installed. new serp belt. newer fuel pump.

What the car needs is driver side door pins ( I have the pins) and rear brake pads with in two months if u were to drive it every day. I do not drive this car everyday! GM readying aluminum-body fullsize pickups

Wed, 19 Feb 2014

Ford's extensive use of aluminum in its 2015 F-150 is a big deal. A really big deal. Big enough, in fact, that General Motors is reportedly changing its fullsize pickup strategy. According to The Wall Street Journal, The General has locked in partnerships with Alcoa Inc. and Novelis Inc. - companies that will supply aluminum for the next-generation Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra trucks.
"Ford's introduction of the 2015 F-150 pickup truck was a game changer, and it's the first, not the last, conversion of this type," Novelis spokesperson Charles Belbin told the Journal. The switch to aluminum has allowed Ford to shave roughly 700 pounds off its fullsize truck's curb weight. And while official mileage ratings have not been announced, the weight loss should go a long way for improving efficiency, especially when combined other efficiency-minded improvements including better aerodynamics and new, turbocharged V6 engines.
Of course, aluminum-bodied cars are nothing new. But extensive use of aluminum in a major, best-selling product like the Ford F-150 is expected to kick off widespread use of this weight-saving material as availability rises and cost decreases. The WSJ reports that GM had originally explored the idea of moving to aluminum pickups back in 2008, but abandoned the idea due to cost concerns amid economic woes.

Ford recalling 205k Edge and Lincoln MKX units for possible corrosion

Thu, 30 Oct 2014

After the horrible weather last winter, it's hard to look forward for the season to return this year. For those readers in much of the country, the snow is going to be flying soon, and with it comes salt on the roads. That means Ford's regional recall for the 2007-2008 Edge and Lincoln MKX arrives at the perfect time because they are at risk for corrosion.
The campaign covers 204,448 examples of the models in 21 states, plus the District of Columbia and some provinces of Canada. In total there are 186,024 vehicles in need of repair in the US and 18,424 in Canada.
According to Ford, it's possible for the area, "under the reinforcement brackets where the fuel tank is mounted" to corrode. If this happens, there might be a gas smell in the vehicle or even a fuel leak could develop. In fact, the automaker reports that one fire could be related to the problem but no injuries or accidents are reported.

Ford and GM link bonus checks to quality scores

Tue, 29 Apr 2014

The poor first quarter earnings of Ford and General Motors are having an effect all the way up the food chain. Both automakers struggled with recalls in the first three months of the year, and, according to The Detroit News, they have responded by increasing the percentage of bonuses tied to vehicle quality for salaried workers, including top executives.
GM announced that 25 percent of bonuses (up from 10 percent) for all salaried workers would be tied to its vehicle quality standards. The automaker revealed in its financial report that it spent $1.3 billion on recall-related repairs in the first quarter, and net income was down 86 percent.
Ford also increased the quality proportion of bonuses for about 26,000 salaried workers all the way up to CEO Alan Mulally from 10 percent to 20 percent. The company announced in its report that the amount paid out in warranty and recall claims was about $400 million higher than expected in the first quarter. Its net income fell 39 percent from the previous year. "The change reflects how critical quality is to our overall business," said spokesperson Todd Nissen speaking to Autoblog.
