All flaws are detailed better in the description, but the front tires are getting old, there is some paint oxidation on the front and rear bumper panels, and there is a small dent on the bottom of the passenger door. The rest of the paint is great, but does show some signs of age since it is a 96. Please read the entire description and look at all of the pictures! Also ask questions if you are unsure about anything."

This is a beautiful 96 Mustang with less than 80,000 miles! The car is 100% original and rust free with a black leather interior and a 5-speed transmission. One good thing about this car is that it has never been messed with and altered with a bunch of after market parts and still retains factory reliability. The car has never been beat on which is obviously very uncommon for a mustang. The proof for this is that close to 80,000 miles the original tires from 96 were finally changed and not because the tread was gone, but because they were dried out and started to crack.

This car has also been recently maintained and updated so whoever buys it will be able to drive it without the need to do anything. Here is a list of recent updates:
6/13/13 74,603 miles - Kuhmo AST tires on the rear ($292)
6/20/13 75,204 miles - Motul Engine Clean oil flush, oil change with Royal Purple Oil ($74 for filter and oil) and transmission fluid change with Royal Purple Synchomax ($68 just for fluid)
6/25/13 75,676 miles - NGK Laster Iridium Premium Plugs ($86 not including labor)
7/5/13 Gas Mileage Check, 24.78mpg with 240 miles driven at 75mph

Here is a break down to the best of my knowledge of each area of the car. ALL know issues will be addressed!

Engine - All original, ZERO problems, starts right up, runs very strong and smooth, no missing, idles perfect.
Engine accessories - Belt tension pulley occasionally squeaks but goes away once the car is warmed up.
Transmission - Shifts 100% perfectly, synchronizers are great, no issues at all.
Interior - All gauges work, no check engine lights are on, the radio has been replaced with a cd player, black leather that is in excellent condition for a 96. The dash and door panels are literally brand new in appearance, and the carpet is very nice too. The only flaw with the interior is that although the carpet is very nice, you can tell that people have driven the car before meaning that for a 96 its probably about the best you can get.
Suspension - The car rides excellent with no complaints, but there is a squeak in the front passenger side during slow speeds when there are bumps. The car drives down the road straight too but will need any alignment as some point because the steering wheel is slightly off while driving straight.
Body - The body itself is in great shape and all of the lines and body panels line up perfectly. The passenger side door has a small dent/scratch on the bottom rear corner from where a vehicle slightly bumped into it in a parking lot. There are 2 pictures showing the damage.
Paint - All of the metal panels look great as far as the paint goes, but keep in mind the paint is from 96 so it does show some age but still shines bright and looks great! There is some oxidation on the plastic front/rear bumper panels and I took several pictures of that too.
Tires/brakes - Rear tires are brand new, the front ones will need replaced somewhat soon. The brakes have life left as they don't make any noises and the car stops just fine!
Other - The A/C does work! It blows very cold! There are power windows and locks as well.

If you have any questions about anything please feel free to contact me and I will respond as soon as possible.

Ford F-150 bumps Camry from top of Cars.com American Made Index

Tue, 25 Jun 2013

With July 4th just around the corner, what better time could there be for Cars.com to announce that the Ford F-150 is the Most American car of 2013? This may be especially true since it was the Toyota Camry, a car produced by a company based in Japan, that had held the top spot from 2009 to 2012.
Cars.com compiles its Most American list by considering the amount of parts each vehicle uses that come from America, where it's final assembly takes place and how many units per year are sold. "While the assembly point and domestic parts content of the F-150 didn't change from 2012-2013, vehicle sales are responsible for bumping the F-150 to the top spot," according to Patrick Olsen, Editor-in-Chief of Cars.com.
As far as automakers go (as opposed to individual models), Toyota retains the top spot it held in 2012, with General Motors, Chrysler, Ford and Honda (in that order) rounding out the list. The motivation behind this list each year, according to Olsen, is "to help car shoppers understand that 'American-Made' extends beyond just the Detroit three" and because "a study we conducted in 2012 indicated that 25 percent of shoppers surveyed preferred to buy American."

Ford won't be releasing GT500 lap times for the 'Ring, or any other car

Wed, 27 Nov 2013

Trucks have towing capacity, EVs have driving range and performance cars have Nürburgring lap times. What do all three have in common? They should all be taken with a grain of salt. Currently, there is no sanctioned way to record lap times or verify production-spec cars - a lesson we recently learned with the 2015 Nissan GT-R Nismo - and until there is a way to do so (and there probably never will be), we'll never officially know the actual time it took for Ford to lap the 'Ring with its ultra-powerful Shelby GT500.
After posting a Ford-made video of a 2013 GT500 running around the 'Ring, the guys over at SVTPerformance.com (an enthusiasts forum not affiliated with Ford or SVT) wanted more answers. They got in touch with Ford's Global Performance Vehicle Chief Engineer Jamal Hameedi, who said until there is a way to verify the times and inspect the cars, Ford will not get involved with lap-time wars. In the email, Hameedi pointed out that the 'Ring is a useful tool in that it allows a wide spectrum of track conditions, but until there is a governed way to record times, there is no way to accurately compare cars head-to-head.
And as much as some may not like it, Hameedi speaks the truth. It really isn't possible to compare times from one car to another, unless those cars were lapping the same track at the same time with the same driver. Not that any of this means there won't be continuous wars by fans and manufacturers alike... in other words, feel free to voice your opinions in the Comments below.

Ford rolls out diesel Focus ST at Goodwood [w/poll]

Sun, 29 Jun 2014

If you're in the market for a hot hatch, there are some excellent choices at your disposal - especially if you live in Europe. But if you want a diesel, well, your choices become rather more limited. Volkswagen tends to that niche market with the Golf GTD (essentially an oil-burning version of the GTI available Stateside), but that's about the extent of it. The pleas of those looking for more diesel-burning hot hatch choices haven't fallen on deaf ears at Ford, with the Blue Oval not only rolling out a facelifted gas-powered Focus ST at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend, but also a new diesel version as well.
The diesel Focus ST (which we hope and pray isn't marketed as the STD) packs a 2.0-liter turbodiesel four producing 182 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque to propel the oil-burning hot hatch to 62 in 8.1 seconds en route to a top speed of 135 miles per hour. With less power and only slightly more torque, that makes the diesel Focus ST considerably slower than the gasoline one, which packs 252 hp and 270 lb-ft, runs to 62 in 6.5 seconds and tops out at 154 mph, but (in a testament to how far particulate filters have come) the diesel model cuts carbon emissions by nearly a third compared to the petrol version and returns about 50-percent better fuel economy, which makes that much more of a difference in markets where diesel is already priced better than gasoline at the pump.
For buyers who wouldn't consider anything other than a diesel, it also represents 23-percent more power than the previous top-level diesel Focus. The VW Golf GTD, for reference, offers up 181 hp (just 1 horse less), 280 lb-ft (15 fewer torques) but is somehow estimated to reach 60 in a considerably fleeter 7.4 seconds.
