SUPERCHARGED 2007 FORD MUSTANG GT IN GRABBER ORANGE  ** 30,000 SENIOR DRIVEN MILES ** GARAGE KEPT ** NO WINTERS ** STILL UNDER FORD ESP WARRANTY  ** NO DISAPPOINTMENTS

Up for sale is a sparkling 2007 Ford Mustang GT Premium model equipped with a dealer installed Roushcharger delivering 435 horsepower.  Car is painted the iconic Grabber Orange which was the color of the cover car on the 2007 Mustang brochure.  Interior is Dark Charcoal leather with the premium satin aluminum dash trim, Shaker 500 AM/FM/CD audio system with Sirius satellite radio.  Car is equipped with the 5 speed automatic transmission and has the 3.31 limited slip performance rear axle.  Car is still under a transferrable Ford Extended Service Plan until 36,000 miles or Oct.20, 2013, so no worries about the drivetrain!

I am the second owner of this car, and like the original owner, I am over 60 years of age.  Car has been garaged its entire life and the condition of the exterior paint and trim reflects that.  The paint glistens in the sun and never fails to draw compliments when I take it out.  Car currently has 29,744 miles which will increase slightly since I am driving it weekly.  There are a couple of rock chips on the hood, a couple of minor indentations on the front bumper which are unnoticed unless you are a foot away and intently looking at the right angle, a 2 inch long by 1/4 inch wide depression in the left rear quarter between the door and rear wheel - it is below the lowest crease on the body side and I only noticed it the other day when looking at the correct angle to spot it.  Most people would not even see the minor, minor blems on the body - these blems are minor enough that they will not show in the photos, but in the spirit of full disclosure, I am making potential buyer aware of these.  Interior is very clean - seats, dash, headliner and door panels have no rips or tears.  Engine compartment is also super clean having been routinely wiped down to remove dust and grime.  The bottom of the car is also extremely clean due to no winter driving.

I am aware of no mechanical issues with the car.  Front tires have 5/32 tread depth and rear tires have 9/32 tread depth.  New tread depth is 9.5/32.  Oil has been changed every 3,000 miles by Ford dealer.  A vehicle inspection is welcome PRIOR to the end of the auction.

Shipping is the sole responsibility and expense of the buyer.  I will cooperate with pick up of the vehicle by a transport company.

I am willing to ship to England, Sweden, Canada, and Japan.  Buyers from other countries must contact me to discuss purchase.  Buyer MUST arrange and pay for all shipping.  Vehicle will not leave my possession until legitimate payment has been deposited in my bank account.

A $500 deposit is required via paypal with 24 hours of auction end.  Cash or wire transfer will be the only accepted forms of payment.

Feel free to contact me at 813.215.6273 with any questions regarding vehicle options, conditions, or pricing.

This is a great car - check my feedback record from 10+ years on eBay - you will not be disappointed.

Are you a new Ford Mustang SVO? [w/video]

Fri, 16 May 2014

When Ford announced that its 2015 Mustang would arrive with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine, three letters came to mind: SVO. While Ford hasn't said a word regarding the rebirth of a Mustang SVO model, this latest set of spy shots shows us something very, very interesting. Allow us to explain.
The Mustang prototype in these photos looks very similar to the GT500 test cars we've spotted before - same bulging hood, aggressive front fascia and air vents aft of the front wheels. What's different, however, is around back. Have a look at the exhaust, and note that instead of the GT500's usual quad pipes, two of the exhaust outlets have been capped off.
Our spies point out that these exhaust outlets could be closed for some sort of emissions testing or another engineering reason, but it's also important to note that the engine and exhaust notes of this car sound completely different from earlier GT500 prototypes. We've got a video below that compares the two.

Edmunds ranks the best used cars for 2013

Sun, 15 Sep 2013

When people ask us what car we would recommend for them, it's usually not easy to answer. To make a useful recommendation we must consider which of the numerous vehicle segments fits their needs best, and then choose one of the many vehicles offered in each segment. For some people, new cars don't meet their expectations of value, because they lose so much of it the moment they are purchased and driven off the dealer lot. For them, there's always the used-car market, where great deals can be found, but cars' histories of reliability and maintenance records - and perhaps that Certified Pre-Owned warranty - become ever-important factors playing into purchase choice.
To help out, Edmunds has done us the favor of assembling a list of the best used vehicles money can buy, covering model years 2006-2011, according to what it considers the most important criteria when shopping for used autos: reliability, safety, value and availability. That means unreliable, unsafe, super-expensive or limited-edition models don't appear on the list, but instead cars from each segment that are more likely to satisfy the general population.
There are some real goodies on the list, including but not limited to vehicles such as the capable Honda Fit, the cultish Honda Accord coupe (which can be had with a 240-horsepower V6 and a six-speed manual transmission some years), and the powerful Chevrolet Corvette. While Edmunds' choice of the Volvo C70 for best used convertible baffled us at first (not that it's a bad car), it redeemed itself by stating that the Mazda MX-5 still is an unofficial top choice if you don't require more than two seats.

Ford, Samsung shack up to bring regen braking to non-hybrid models [w/video]

Mon, 09 Jun 2014

Ford must be desperate to get itself ready for the beach this summer because it is really trying to get into shape. Shortly after unveiling the Lightweight Concept that cut the weight of a Fusion down to that of a Fiesta, it's now the rest of the line's turn for improvement. The company is wrapping up a 10-year research project aimed at developing next-gen automotive batteries to improve efficiency.
Ford claims that 70 percent of its lineup will have stop/start tech by 2017. The key to this massive proliferation is its new dual-battery system that combines a lithium-ion battery with a lead-acid one and regenerative braking. The setup works by harvesting braking energy and converting it to electricity. When the vehicle stops, the engine shuts off, but the Li-ion battery has enough juice to keep the accessories running. The engine starts up again as drivers take their foot off the brake. The layout would mean less wasted gas while idling. It's already available on Ford hybrids and is somewhat similar to the i-Eloop capacitor-based system from Mazda.
The bigger challenge is tuning the regenerative braking right. While hybrid drivers may be a little more adventurous, when it comes to getting a hang of regen braking, conventional buyers might not be so open-minded. The systems have a tendency to be a little grabby at first and then taper off at very low speeds. Ford needs to make sure it's just right to avoid turning off buyers.
