Capable of speeds approaching 200 MPH, turning only 2500 RPM at 100 MPH in 6th. gear! Very stable at high speeds and handles excellent! Has brand new Mickey Thompson SS Radials on the rear so the car can be controlled. No burn outs, these tires are so sticky it just goes as fast as you want! And this new SS model is also safe in the rain. It has a smaller supercharger pulley installed so that you can get maximum boost (20 psi), A brand new carbon fiber air intake and throttle body, K+N air filter, electronic tuner, new low suspension and aftermarket pipes. it sounds nasty even when you don't want it to sound nasty! With full boost in all gears it will snap your head back and be at 110 MPH by the time you hit 3rd gear. I made a trip out to Vegas and averaged about 110 MPH! Get the latest radar detector! Has all options shown above plus Navigation, Sirius XM radio, and voice commands. Plus the convertible top is powered and real hood support hinges have been installed so you don't have to use the support post. The attached dyno plots show before and after. At 1000 RPM the standard 650HP engine was putting out 595 HP and 580 lb/ft of torque to the rear wheels. After the mods and dyno tuning the power at the rear wheels is 682 HP and 698 lb/ft of torque! An increase of about 100 on each number! Given the 50 HP lost in the drive train that means it is churning out about 750 HP at the crank! Includes all stock parts, dyno plots, tuner, boot for the convertible top, new cover for storage, battery tender, factory touch up paint, and 2 trophies it won in a car show including best Mustang! Has always been garaged, stored and covered in winter, and left on a battery tender. Full synthetic oil always used - has 4500 miles until next oil change required. Has lifetime paint sealant, windshield sealant, fabric protector on seats and top, and lifetime rust proofing. I am the second owner. $70K invested!

2015 Ford C-Max gets a corporate nose job [w/video]

Thu, 02 Oct 2014

Ford might not have the splashiest booth here at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, but the automaker is showing off quite a bit of hardware that will actually end up on roads across Europe. Parisians are no doubt tickled at getting to see the specifications of the Mustang tuned for The Continent (which has a revised suspension for European roads, and a few visual nips and tucks), in addition to the revised face of the family-friendly C-Max.
As you can see, C-Max styling has been revisited with a deft touch, grafting Ford's six-sided corporate grille on the nose, in place of the outgoing car's two-part affair. New headlights can also be found on the car's revised front fascia, though the rear end of the C-Max looks only slightly different than the current version.
Inside the cabin, Ford has consolidated controls and upped the ante in terms of material quality, with "black satin" and chrome details and more storage capacity, overall. Grocery-lugging moms and dads everywhere should appreciate the hands-free liftgate feature, as well.

Ford hybrid sales rebound following MPG controversy

Sun, 31 Aug 2014

Ford hybrid customers apparently have very short memories. With two EPA fuel economy reratings in the last year, sales of the C-Max, Fusion Hybrid and Lincoln MKZ haven't been too terribly dented, Ward's Auto reports.
All three vehicles saw sales dips following the August 2013 rerating, although sales of the MKZ Hybrid had begun to rebound as early as November of that year. C-Max sales, meanwhile, took slightly longer, with sales on a steadily improving course as early as February of this year.
The second rerating, in June of this year, has had an even smaller effect on the Blue Oval's hybrids. The C-Max has actually been subject to a sales increase, while both the MKZ and Fusion saw minor sales drops (less than 400 units between the two in the month following the rerating).

Google's new Android Autos OS unveiled, will be in cars this year [w/video]

Wed, 25 Jun 2014

Connected cars are coming en-masse. We know this much. How, though, remains something of an open question, especially as two of the world's largest tech companies are preparing to battle for control of your car's dashboard. On the one hand, we have Apple and its CarPlay system. And now, we know what Google has been working on with Auto Link.
Its new name is Android Auto, and yes, it's based off the Android architecture that is the primary challenger to Apple's iOS mobile operating system. Announced at Google's I/O conference today, Android Auto functions similarly to CarPlay - owners will need to plug their smartphones into their cars to access the full breadth of capability.
In Android Auto's case, that means a wealth of voice controls to limit distracted driving. Google's marquee apps will be available when the interface arrives in production models later this year, including Google Play Music, Google Maps and voice-activated texting and text playback. Meanwhile, developers will be able to begin designing custom apps for the new system via an upcoming software development kit.
